Hey Guys,
We are working on some new ideas for the event photo booth and we need your help. I am looking for images that can be used as digital backgrounds. Scenes from the movie or Star Wars like location images.
As most of you who attended the meeting Feb 9th know, we are planning on trying out a new photo booth set up. For these and possibly future events we are going to use a Chromakey back drop with digital backgrounds. If you do not know what Chromakey is check out the link below. I am sure if you are a fan of Star Wars you know what Chromakey can do.

For each of our events we would like to be able to offer several backgrounds. Locations like Tatooine, a Ships interior (Tantive IV), etc... Locations that can stand alone without costumers and other that will complement them, such as the dunes of Tatooine for the Sandtroopers. Ideas and possible examples would be of great help. Once chosen the images will be preformatted to fit a 4"x6" picture so that cropping and extra editing will not have to be made. To get away from any copy write issues we would like to see if there is anyone who can recreate the chosen background images in a non infringing way or we can look into getting permission to use actual screenshots from the movies. We will be offering no more than four location backgrounds and possible one custom event logo background.

By the end of the week I will be purchasing the Chromakey software and the green screen we will be using.

I want to thank all those who pitch-in to help purchase the software. Once the software and screen arrive we will be doing a full run-through before the Hockey events. I will post the date if anyone would like to come out and help with the run-through.

Along with the new digital backgrounds we will be adjusting the crew that will be manning the photo booth to meet the extra needs we will face. We will now have two computer operators. One of the operators will solely be responsible for the taking of the pictures. This will increase the flow of traffic... more pictures will be able to be taken in a shorter amount of time. The second computer operator will be responsible for compiling the pictures with the chosen backdrops and printing the pictures. In order for this to work a small two computer network will be set up. The photos will be taken and placed onto a networked drive accessible by both computers. As soon as pictures are placed onto the drive they can be compiled and printed via the Chromakey software. Once printed they will be labeled and taken to the display table for distribution.

I have a question.... I like your idea about 2 comps, that should help... as long as they want to work the whole time. 
Did we ever have people not get pictures done or not want to wait for them becuase they take to long to print and miss the game?
I'm thinking and maybe it's a dumb idea, but; what if the people could give us there seat and row numbers and we could take them to them so they don't miss any of the hockey game. That could also get us some more exposure to maybe bring more people into getting pics done.
I say that because when I went to go visit my freind & family real quick last year, I was mobbed by people wanting pictures, and of course I told them to to visit the photo booth and make a donation.

Those are some good ideas. Blasty is going to put out a post on the Legion boards and see what he comes up with. We will see what we get from that... Depending on what we get we may still contact Lucas Films and see if they would like to donate some images that we can use. Or something like that.
Either way I think this event is going to be rather interesting!
