At Galacticon, it was brought to my attention that contrary to popular belief, EU does not 'SUCK', rather, it 'ROCKS'. That said, I have agreed to try this 'EU' thing again by reading the Legacy of the Force series...
I entered a deal in which for every EU book I read, someone will play a game of mini's..so while I venture out to get the first legacy book, if someone can kind of help JIM build a good mini's army, I'd appreciate it!
I'll keep everyone posted here on my progress!!
I know there's a joke in there somewhere. This early in the AM without coffee, my brain cell conduits aren't immediately picking up on it!
But of course EU rocks!

OK Folks...
I went to Barnes and Noble (Much thanks to Rick C. for the gift card!!) and picked up Betrayal...
I read the first 2 pages and it's kind of good...especially since I know who Luke is 'dreaming' about...
I like how he says this person may be his father, because he has Anakin's features...
cool early set-up for what's to come!!

Glad to see you're trying it out. I'm not an EU fanboy but I do like a story that's well told...and it helps to have the stories built around the Star Wars Universe.
That being said, I've only read the pre-prequel stuff. Any recommendation for the best post ROTJ stuff or stuff between ANH and ESB?

It's the book I'm on..I've tried to get into EU once before and I just didn't like the book (Allegiance, art dealers in Star Wars? COME ON!) So I swore off EU...
I'm giving it another stab though with Legacy!
(I'm not sure how I'll get passed Bloodlines though, since I am a staunch beleiver that Boba Fett dies in the Sarlaac pit!)

Ok...I've finished the first 10 chapters of Betrayal...
It's just OK so far...I am trying to tell myself that this is merely a book set in the Star Wars universe and will not have the same impact as a movie...
I will say this though...I probably would not be intrested in finishing this series if I didn't know what happens...
