So the Patriots are playing a game tomorrow night.
I just wanted to get this out there, even if it's out there already.=)
First off I'm not a Patriots fan, just coming from this from a football fan angle.
If the Patriots win tomorrow night they will accomplish something only one other team has done, but even better they will have won more games in a single season (being undefeated) than any other team. This I feel will make them considered the best team ever in the NFL. They have already won many super bowls and are considered a dynasty. Whether they win the super bowl this year or not, or even go for that matter, matters not. The fact that they went undefeated, If they do. Will supplant them as the best team ever. No more will you hear "can this team top the 72 dolphins"? , from here on out (if they win) It will be can anyone do what the pats did? year after year that will be the mantra.
Should be an interesting game tomorrow night.
I would be interested in others comments about this topic.

The Patriots would have to win the superbowl this year in order to be considered with the 1972 Dolphins. Sure, the regular season in 72 was 14 games and the Dolphins wound up 17-0, but if you look back the Dolphins had to play the AFC Championship in Pittburgh (no homefield advantage in 72 for whatever reason). The Patriots will have it a tad easier simply because of the homefield. I believe the Dolphins went 23-0 from 1972 to 1973...check me on that one, it might have been 21-0 until they finally got beat. Anyway, the pressure will be on.....and as a football fan it would be a privilege to see....unless they play the Skins.

What a game that was. The more I see Brady play the more I like him. He reminds me of Joe Montana, cool and calm no matter what happens. I think welker is cool too.
I listened to the game on the way home and then saw the end at home.
What a game.
WOW
Now can they beat the colts? I still think the Colts will be there biggest challenge if they play each other.

I agree with Noel. If the Patriots don't win the Super Bowl, 16 - 0 means NOTHING!
I like what Eric Kaselius (sp) said this morning on Mike and Mike...They were talking about what team poses the biggest challenge to the patriots...he said..
GREEN BAY! He qualified that by saying...Bret Favre on a neutral field..there will be so much emotion and EVERYONE in America will be rooting for him to win another Super Bowl. Good point!
This week only...join the Green Bay Packers/Brett Favre bandwagon for free! All are welcome! There's plenty of room!

16 - 0 means NOTHING!
You guys are crazy to say it means nothing. It is now a league record to be broken and will be mentioned every year until someone else breaks it.
I might not mean the same thing as the 72 dolphins, but it surly means something, even if on a smaller scale.
From the standpoint that I can assure you NO one else will go 16-0 for a long long time.
We'll I can't assure you, but it will probably be a long time.
It is a league record to be broken, that is what it means.
Ohh and what about the cowboy's? they sure did look bad yesterday. I think the Packers might have a chance, I just hope they can beat them in Dallas.

If anything, I think 16-0 puts that much more pressure on them because if they don't win the Super Bowl, no one is going to remember 16-0, they will only remember they DIDN'T win the big one.
In fact, only 3 other teams have finished the regular season undefeated..and only one them (the '72 Dolphins) won the championship...can you name the other two? I rest my case!!

hmm
I think it was the bears and I only know that because they mentioned it on ESPN or something recently.
I feel it is also a generational thing too, the bears were in like 40 and 42 so of course no one is going to remember that.
It's like when I say the eagles are the only team to have beaten the Lombardi packers in 1960 in the championship during his reign.
No one remembers that or acknowledges it because it was so long ago.
Everyone in our generation for the next 20 years or so will remember the 16-0 season of New England.
Also remember I'm not a New England fan although I am starting to think Brady is as good as Montana.

I think Brady is on the level of Montana as well.
16-0 is impressive. Without a Superbowl win, though, it will be a "losng" season for the Pats. They've raised the bar quite high for themselves.
Go Packers!

I agre with Alan..
The Patriots only play for one thing...Championships...anything less, is a failure. That's why I respect them so much. They just win..nothing more, nothing less.

Apparently they don't just win.
16-0 means jack diddly with a superbowl loss.
I saw a clip when Eli went to say "what's up" to Brady before the game and got dissed. I didn't know who to root for until I saw that. I made up my mind and there was no way I would root for an arrogant piece of...uh, hmmm...uh...er...young fellow like Tom Brady.
Anyone think the Patriots the biggest chokers in sports history?

I saw that too Noel and I didn't like it..as Neil Patrick Harris said in Harold and Kumar..It was a D**k move on Brady's part...
I lost a lot of respect for Brady after the game when he just ran into the locker room...no congrats, no handshakes no nothing..that ain't class!!!
Are they biggest chokers in Sports history?
hmm...I think so

I have to say even with a hangover it was good defensive game on the part of both teams. The patriots lack of sportsman like conduct and overblown ego proved to be thier undoing. So I was pleased to see the giants beat them.
