March For Babies Walk in VA Beach on April 27th

This is an event posting for all FanForce members in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area!
What: March for Babies Walk is the March of Dimes premiere fundraising event. It will be held at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Attendance is expected to be between 2,500 - 4,000 people. The Beach march, which has been held at the Oceanfront for more than 20 years, is the largest March of Dimes event in Virginia both in participation and funds raised. Last year, it raised over $400,000.
Where: It's at the Oceanfront! It starts at the 24th Street Stage park area. It'll be a festive atmosphere with lots of vendors, sponsors, entertaintainment, etc.
When: April 27th, Sunday. The event officially starts at 8:00 AM. We should try to be there around 9:00 AM. The event runs through the early-afternoon.
Best place to park would be the 25th Street parking lot. There may be a parking event fee, so have some cash on you. The corner of 25th Street and Atlantic Avenue will be our rallying point. Be there at 9:00 AM.

NO...I talked to Eric about that and only corporate sponsors can hang banners...it costs 2500 for a sponsorship by the way...
I also talked to Gayle and they could also use volunteer help (registration, set-up, etc) For the non-costumers, I would suggest putting on the ol' HRR t-shirt and volunteering that way!

Damn! That sounds like a good one. I'll be out of town but if there is a donation to make it sounds like its worth it. Can non-participants do the pledge thing?

We'll rally at 25th St. & Atlantic Avenue with costume container on hand at 9:00 AM. You do not need to change in the parking lot unless you want to. A Board Member, Eric Coble, and his wife, Gayle, will meet us there. We will then proceed to PHR Gold Key offices on 25th Street. The door is an unmarked entrance. (Look for "Vacation Market Sign" – door to left. Go into elevator to the second floor.) There, we'll change and store our belongings.
Rain Plans: If it rains, there will be tents and there will be room up on the 25th Street stage area.
For any questions, just contact Pat since he's volunteered at this event in the past. For those who do not plan on costuming up, I'm sure we can use handlers. The event also can use other types of volunteers. Just ask!

I was just told by one of the organizers of the event that the parking is free at 25th Street parking lot; just say you're with the 'March of Dimes' event.
(But I'd still have some cash on hand anyways b/c you never know.)
