February Meeting

Hey everybody,
How's February looking for our next meeting? I'm thinking the 16th at Stag's Head.
David (StormMoose) already told me he has a rough work schedule and might not be able to make it. How's the 16th for everyone else?
And in case any of you need a little extra coaxing, I still have some leftover copies of last month's surprise DVD (I'm looking at you, Jeff  ).
But really, I'm personally hoping we can build up a core group of about 10 people for Houston. I once met some people from the DC area Star Wars group, and it seemed like they had a real good thing going there. They had t-shirts printed up, and they'd get together for family picnics and other social activities. I realize this is a big city, and we all have busy schedules, but I guess I just want people to see that we can be more than just a bunch of guys who get together in a bar. At the least, maybe we can have one big annual event.
So if you've never been to one of our meetings and are considering it, why not come out?

Hey Erik and all
I can't make the 16th because it's parents night out at the church and if I don't take my wife out on that night I'm doomed.
I probably can make the weekends on either side of that weekend.
If that doesn't work out for others I'll make the March meeting.

Eric, thanks for taking the lead on this one. I will try to come if I can. Any Sat is good for me.
I hope we can grow this year. Ian and I will keep trying to get some 501st people to come join us. We will keep the board updated on anything we do thats open to the public. I have enjoyed the group we do have and would do anything to help you guys when you need it. Spread the word and lets grow with the force this year.

The 16th is good for me. I have nothing planned for that day (so far).
I agre with you erikstormtrooper about having some sort of "real" membership / social thing. While I was at CIV I meet lots of groups that were part of either a collector's club, costume club, etc. some groups actually would get together a couple of times a month.

I can't make the 16th (I'll be attending a planning meeting for ApolloCon, so if anyone has any ideas for that, let me know)

Finally I made it to one of these.
It was lots of fun. I didn't buy any of the pitchers of beer so I'm buying the first two next time.
It was great to see you again, Erik, and I'm watching the Star Wars DVD you gave me as I type. Thanks!
Ian, David and Sam (I don't think Sam reads these boards?) it was great to finally meet you guys.
I'm glad I made it out. Everyone made me feel welcome and I appreciate that.

Glad you could make it Jeff. We always have a good time. It was good to get Sam out to one of our get togethers. We all do not have to be 501st to have a love of Star Wars. It is fun talking about something that has touched our lives in such a positive way. Ian and Eric, good times good beer anf fun. Til next month May the force be with you all.
