***COMIC-CON*** July 24 - 27, 2008

It may seem early to be starting this thread, however early registration has begun. It sold out last year, so if you're even thinking about going this coming July, you might want to think about getting those tickets now!
Right after I got home from this year's CC, I made reservations at the Hilton for 2008. In August, I did the same thing for the Marriott. (no deposit required!) Of course, I'll need to get roomies as I don't happen to have the $400+ a night to cover the room/s myself. Lots of time to figure all that out, but wanted everyone to know their available.

I can't afford $400 a night for a room, so we'll be up at the crack of dawn, fingers at the keyboard ready to start the great 30 minutes of hell and profanities as we try to get a hotel room.

I still plan on trying that, too. Last year I was on the phone the same time as I was trying on the computer and I had somebody fax a request in, too. All I got was sore fingers. Who's had do you have to grease to get a room at the Con rates??

I broke in a new credit card and purchased my tickets for the event. Probably shouldn't have done that, but I wanted to make sure I got them.

We were going to try to get a hotel room next to our friend's room, but with the medical bills, a crashed car (courtesy of Darren), we'll probably only go for one day. Or, we'll have to stay at either my sister-in-law's at Carlsbad or my mother-in-law's in Murrieta. I don't have to paint myself this year as I plan on having my Boushh completed by then, so there won't be that problem. I already bought the 4-day passes, so that's taken care of. :-)

I'm giving it a miss this year again. Our two weeks in Scotland/Ireland is going to wipe our fun money out. Curse you weak US dollar!!!! 0.52 Euros for 1 dollar and 0.56 pennies for 1 dollar!

I've already got the 4 day tickets and hotel reservations (which can be cancelled up to the day before without cost). All that doesn't mean I'm going, but I'm definitely prepared. I hope circumstances are such that I get to go the whole time, though! Who knows what can happen between then and now????
