It's due to the original ST series that I discovered and fell in love with Sci-Fi, so it will always have a special place in my heart! It sounds like something neat to go see.
How fun would it be to go in my Jedi costume!!!

AaS, this might help -- long-time Trek fan here, when I have to explain it to non-fen who don't know if they would like it, I just call it like it is: "Futuristic cross of western/cop show, wherein a gigantic fascist multiplanetary governmental system/military goes around forcibly strong-arming systems and races into joining, all the while spouting propaganda that they are totally free not to. Plus hot alien 60's babes on the old show." I've 'created' a lot of new fans that way. Give it a chance sometime, but definitely start with the classic series...less talk and more action.

Never been to the Queen Mary before..... Might be neat just to go see the ship & do the tour of the ship itself....

I went on Saturday. It was cool, if you don't mind all the costumed Trekkies walking around & looking envious at your VIP badge! lol! There were props, & costumes, & recreated sets.
I got a VIP package for Christmas, which included perks, like front-of-line access to the simulators (which had really long line), a private tour lead by the Tour's creator, access to the Tour all day long, an 'exclusive gift' which turned out to be a really cool messenger bag, etc. I have like 504 pictures that I'll get developed & bring to the next meeting.

Took my Pa for his birthday. I think it was too expensive. Considering they are going to be doing this for the next 5 years, there's no reason they should be trying to make all their money back in the first 5 months.
My Dad loved it though, I knew he was a Trek fan but geez. He didn't need to read any of the little cards describing what the props were.

I wouldn't even have blinked if you would have brought 504 pictures. I took over 500 pictures at my last trip to Disneyland.

I'd have liked to take more, but I couldn't find the charger for my digital camera. I had to buy some disposables (which aren't that cheap any more if you ant to actually see a picture when it's developed...)
