    Moderator Complaint Resolution Process

Whenever you have a problem with a moderator's action, it is preferable that you contact the moderator involved directly. Should an unresolved problem arise with the actions of a moderator, please contact an administrator for review and investigation.

Please provide as much information relating to the complaint as possible. Be specific. If you have a problem with moderating a specific thread or post, provide a link to the posts involved. If you cannot give a link, at least give the date and time of the post, and the URL of the thread. If you wish to report a pattern of complaints, provide several examples and links. Unclear allegations are difficult to investigate and may be dismissed for lack of evidence.

Once receiving a complaint, an administrator will begin an investigation. The administrator will review the post(s) indicated, the user notes of the involved parties, as well as any other relevant materials. If additional information is required, the administrator will contact the user(s) and moderator(s) involved in the matter for further information. In the case of further investigation, all parties will be requested to describe their views of the matter. Once enough information is available, the investigating administrator will decide a resolution for the complaint. If the investigating administrator determines that discipline may be required against a moderator, the case will be given to the Head Admin for review and final decision. The investigating administrator may choose to make a non-binding recommendation to the Head Admin on possible resolutions.

All complaints will be reported to the Head Admin by the investigating administrator(s) on a weekly basis, providing a summary of both the complaint and its resolution or current status (i.e. received, under investigation, awaiting responses, etc). If the Head Admin determines that a moderator has accumulated excessive complaints, the Head Admin may initiate further investigation or discipline as required. The Head Admin may decide to delegate investigation of a complaint to a different admin from the one receiving the initial complaint.

Should the Administrative Team feel discipline or further investigation is warranted, the Administrators will discuss the issues at hand in a private forum to be accessed by the administrative team and the moderator in question. This forum will allow for the open and direct communication of all parties in order to resolve any questions. Should it be requested by the moderator in question, a Mediator from the Mod Squad will be granted access to the forum in order to assist the administrative team in the investigative process. A mediator should be chosen and agreed upon by all parties involved.

If a demotion or banning is deemed necessary, the moderator in question will be informed of the disciplinary action and a statement written for both the Mod Squad and the Communications Forum to be posted immediately after the disciplinary action is performed. Questions or concerns may be posted in the thread but specifics regarding the disciplinary issues will not be made public unless the moderator in question posts about it directly.

You can find a list of the current forum Administrators HERE.

    Complaints Against Administrators

As a general rule, the policy for moderator complaints should also hold true for Administrator complaints. If there is a complaint against one of the administrators, you should proceed directly to one of the other administrators (including the Fan Force Administrators) or to the Head Administrator, following the above listed guidelines. If you have a concern regarding the Head Administrator, you may contact one of the other administrators (including the Fan Force Administrators) or a moderator of your choice.

Once again, the private forum will be utilized and the appointed Mediator (if requested/required) will be involved in the investigative process. Should disciplinary action be required (including in the case of the Head Administrator), the remaining admins and mediator will determine the appropriate action. A statement will be written for posting in the Mod Squad and Communications forum and posted immediately following the disciplinary action. Questions or concerns may be posted in the thread but specifics regarding the disciplinary action may or may not be made public unless the administrator in question posts about it directly. This document may be revised as needed.
