Oh I'm sure Durge's role would have been CHANGED but on the other hand I don't think that Grevious would be nearly as an interesting a character if he'd shown up at the poisoning sight or with Ventress at the factory.

Durge rather embodies "thug" while Grevious now has an elegance to him.

We need a greater variety of characters really during the Clone Wars.

I do hope we see more of both of them in the coming books and comics...

Just imagine if Durge and Grevious had to share a command, or go on a mission together. Pure Destruction, Pure Irritation...

I can just imagine it.

General Grevious: At last we shall destroy the Jedi with the power of our superior wills and pure utter annihilation shall consume the galaxy in honorable combat...to the last.

Durge: OHHHH YEAAAA! We'll be strutting and cutting and them thar Kenobi fellow will be Sleeping yeah!

General Grevious: I beg your pardon sir?

Durge: We're gonna rip out out their neck and dance down their tonsils.

>>Durge doesn't HAVE eyes, a head, OR a spine.<<

But he does have teeth.

I don't think that we ever see his face... he has a mask on the entire time.

I reread CW2 yesterday, so believe me when I say Durge is nothing powerful. He slays Jedi throught Jedi's own incompetence.

-He flew by and bumped Antilles off a lava spanning bridge
-Renoun Diath merely falls off a weakened floor he never sensed
-Then we see Antilles somehow didn't fall at all; but gets picked up and dunked in the lava anyway
-Gliave gets decapped from behind

This isn't showing how strong he is. It's seeing how stupid Jedi are. How they cannot spread their mental awareness out, to increase their situational awareness of an area. Had Wedge not been able to do this, any damn fighter pilot, they'd be dead first run.

Durge is just another Shredder to me. Cowabunga all!

Only in his fight with OB1 and co. does he seem trly competent and frightening.

Oh wow---he's 2000yrs old! Just saw the first thread page. That just finished what remnants of interest I ever had for him.

-Heavily armed
-Sarcastic wit
-Regenerative capabilities
-2000yrs old
-Intolerance to pain

It's too much. He's a comical joke. The best villains are ones who are real and human and fallible, but still manage to live to cause tomorrow's strife. Durge is nothing.

With Sing, whatever Jedi she faced were dumbed down to make her look deadlier, but she's got more emotive background than Shredder's brother any day.

The thing I like so much about Durge is that he is so much a joke it's very funny. He's a great character, like a street thug multiplied exponentially. It's very very enjoyable to watch him come down and stomp all over the Jedi, laughing at their attempts to rebuke him. Not all enemies have to be Ysanne Isard / Thrawn style schemers, Shimrra style butchers, or Palpatine / Kun / Malak style darksiders. Durge is a fun break from the norm and a right laugh at times.

Yeah, he was quite funny---when Kenobi fought him in the CW cartoon, and then the clonetroopers engaged him with team work.
