	I'm actually occasionally annoyed with the treatment the books recieve in Star Wars circles as if they were honestly SOOoooooo bad. Well guess what they had stormtroopers, dark siders, innovative new worlds, and actual human pathos.... Its only that people who take the Star Wars canon as god resent the childlike approach that was given such weighty issues as Palpatine's children and the disposition of the Rebellion. Its better than quite a few comics I'd think and how much more silly is SPIN than a 6ft tall Mercanary Rabbit? I even hate the retcons... Kadann and Jedgar are one thing, portraying the real ones as imposters sort of increases their menace I admit (but the fact remains that Azrakel and a Grand Admiral killing them seems pretty silly if these two powerful figures couldn't tell the real from imposters) But what they did was not stupid at all. They killed the entire Central Commitee of Grand Moffs and presumably defeated their armies, they executed or imprisoned them all and tried to steal a resource of Jedi Knowledge. Now WotC RPG's recent write up of Zorba the Hutt portrays the old Lard bag as being a poor businessmen and incompetent. Zorba wasn't incompetant at all. He was a very dangerous man who stood up to the Empire and triumphed

	"portraying the real ones as imposters" I'm sure you meant, "Imposters portraying the real ones." Though it should be noted that they were actually called imposters(rather than real force users) in the book, that used slight of hand and trickery and their access to a vast spy network to make their prophecies work. So saying there were real ones, was less of a retcon(considering that the books already made sure to point out that they were imposters), but more of something added to make some interesting actual force using characters for RPG players to use, and to finally explain "The Secret Order". "They killed the entire Central Commitee of Grand Moffs" Actually they intended to execute only 1 or 2 of them(but hissa talked them out of his execution, and died later when he fell into a river of lava), and intended to send the others off to penal colonies, or guard duty on dangerous planets. I don't think they ever got the time to send the other moffs off to prison, or give them the demotions that they had intended because soon after they were heading to yavin, and soon after that they were all slaughtered. "being a poor businessmen and incompetent." Actually, it was the children's books that originally described Zorba as being incompetant and a poor business man (as compared to the rest of his clan), that's why he ended up in the prison on Kip in the first place, IIRC. Any successes he had later, have nothing to do with the incompetance, and poor business skills that landed him on Kip, years before.

We know there was some sort of cloning installation on Coruscant, which various Imperial factions used. Isard, for one, but also Sate Pestage, who left a clone behind while he "retired" to Byss just after the Emperor died. Come to think of it, it was probably the clone Pestage who approved the fake Prophet's Church of the Darkside. Hmmm.... 	I just finished reading the very first of this series and found it as awful as everyone said it was. I have no desire to read more of it. However, I do agree with Val who says it has a "comic book feel" to it.
