One source(power of the jedi) implies that he died in the arena battle. Yet we see him flying in space after the arena battle in Jedi Starfighter. So some think that perhaps he died after the events of Jedi Starfighter.
As far as one of the Dark Horse comic designers was concerned(Ostrander, IIRC), reports of Tiin's death were greatly exaggerated, and it's possible that if chance will have it, a story could show up in the future with him in it, alive and well.

Saesee Tiin is mentioned in "The New Essential Guide to Characters" under 'Jedi Council Members' but it doesn't say if he died at Geonosis.

Though I can't recall where it was mentioned (might have been Jan) Saesee Tiin's death is being taken as "actual".
We just don't know how he died yet- just that he died on Geonosis after Mace recalled him from the starfighter battle.
Also note that Eeth Koth's death was first mentioned in the same source Tiin's was, and Koth's death was later reconfirmed by the recent Inside the Worlds of AOTC book; so there's no reason to doubt the validity of the information.
Right now, the only Jedi mistakeningly believed killed at Geonosis who turned up later was Sora Bulq (and that was because he joined Dooku).

I believe Sora Bulq was the Weequay Master who helped Mace develop the Vapaad fighting form.

Whoa. In certain shots, I kept mistaking him for that one Zabrak Jedi. Not Eeth Koth, but the other one.

"Though I can't recall where it was mentioned (might have been Jan) Saesee Tiin's death is being taken as "actual"."
Ya, and I talked to one of the comic writers after that, and listed all the stuff we know about tiin from POTJ, and Jedi Starfighter, and that was when the person(ostrander, IIRC) said that there is a chance that he can convince his superiors that reports of tiins death were greatly exaggerated(due to Jedi Starfighter's information), and if luck will have it, maybe a story can be written Chronicling his escape from death. Only time will tell if that comes to pass.
"Also note that Eeth Koth's death was first mentioned in the same source Tiin's was, and Koth's death was later reconfirmed by the recent Inside the Worlds of AOTC book; so there's no reason to doubt the validity of the information."
Though I recommend taking a look at this thread for the history on this matter;
Agen Kolar "was" Eeth Koth.
Because one person decided to change a character's name because a different actor played the character, it has caused come sticky issues with books that were published before they decided to make the change. Dates of the change is given in that thread, IIRC.
I find it kind of amusing that no official books decided to say that the different actor playing Wedge Antilles ("False Wedge)in ANH, is another wedge Antilles altogether because it is a different actor.
