Alright ladies and gentlemen, as promised, here is the first draft of the Ship Compendium. Please post comments, criticisms and suggestions. I haven't included sources in this version, but I will for the next one. Ships are listed from smallest to largest. The descriptions are either my own, or are sourced from Warlord Ken or Admiral Nick. As I say, the next edition will have all sources and references properly acknowledged. Finally, this version does not contain pictures, it is more to get an idea of whether the stats are correct or not. Enjoy and please please give feedback.

Craft: Corellian Engineering Corporation DP20 Gunship
Length: 120m
Crew: 91
Troop Capacity: None
Cargo Capacity: 300 metric tons
Consumables: 8 months
Shields: 416 SBD
Hull: 176 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons:
8 Double Turbolasers
6 Quad Laser Cannons
4 Concussion Missile Tubes

The fast and deadly DP20 Gunship is one of the few CEC military designs. Engines fill more than half the interior of the small vessel, while weapons emplacements take up most of the rest. The turbolasers and concussion missiles make it a threat to larger capital ships, while the quad laser cannons make it an effective ant-starfighter platform. These vessels are often deployed in packs for screening and escort duty.

Craft: Corellian Engineering Corporation CR90 Corvette
Length: 150 metres
Crew: 46
Troop Capacity: Up to 600 depending on configuration
Cargo Capacity: 3,000 metric tons
Consumables: 1 year
Shields: 400 SBD
Hull: 188 RU
Weapons:
2 Double Turbolasers
4 Turbolasers

The CR90 Corvette is one of the most versatile and enduring designs in the galaxy. They serve in innumerate capacities, ranging from freighters to troop transports and passenger liners to warships. They saw large amounts of action for the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War, as they were highly effective and easily affordable. As the Alliance built and acquired larger and more powerful vessels, the Corvette was reduced to more of a support role. They still see service, generally as pickets or escorts. A prominent example is the Tantive IV.

Craft: Corellian Engineering Corporation CC-7700 Interdictor Frigate
Length: 180 metres
Crew: 876
Troop Capacity: None
Cargo Capacity: 3 000 metric tons
Consumables: 1 year
Shields: 600 SBD
Hull: 230 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons:
12 Laser Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors
2 Gravity Well Projectors

The CC-7700 Interdictor Frigate was designed solely as a platform for two gravity well projectors. When activated, these projectors create artificial gravity wells, preventing hyperspace travel in the area. They are moderately armed for such small vessels, but never became too prevalent when introduced and are now extremely rare.

Craft: Republic Engineering Corporation Agave-class Picket Ship
Length: 190 metres
Crew: 28
Troop Capacity: 5
Cargo Capacity: 500 Metric tons
Consumables: 3 Months
Shields: 220 SBD
Hull: 180 RU
Weapons:
2 Turbolasers
4 Laser Cannons

Part of the New Class of vessels, the Agave-class Picket functions primarily as a reconnaissance vessel. They are often sent ahead of the main battlegroup to scout and report back to group commander. They are capable of fast hyperspace jumps with minimal warm-up time. A prominent example is the Folna.

Craft: Republic Engineering Corporation Warrior-class Gunship
Length: 190 metres
Crew: 90
Troop Capacity: 10

Hull: 205 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons:
10 Turbolasers
8 Laser Cannons
4 Concussion Missile Tubes

Another of the New Class designs, the Warrior-class Gunship is a powerfully armed vessel. Its turbolasers and concussion missile launchers make it a serious threat to capital ships, while it is also adequately armed to fend starfighter attacks. They are used primarily to break up enemy formations. A prominent example is the Vanguard.

Craft: Republic Engineering Corporation Ranger-class Gunship
Length: 220 metres
Crew: 112
Troop Capacity: 200
Cargo Capacity: 500 metric tons
Consumables: 3 months
Shields: 490 SBD
Hull: 212 RU
Weapons:
2 Heavy Turbolasers
10 Quad Laser Cannons
4 Concussion Missile Tubes
1 Tractor Beam Projector

One of the newest vessels in the Republic fleet, the Ranger-class is one of the most effective anti-starfighter platforms in the galaxy, while also adequately armed to take on larger capital vessels. During the war with Yuuzhan Vong the Ranger-class saw extensive action and proved extremely adept at breaking up formations of coralskippers. A prominent example is the Ranger.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Lancer-class Frigate
Length: 250 metres
Crew: 850
Troop Capacity: 40
Cargo Capacity: 300 metric tons
Consumables: 1 week
Shields: 576 SBD
Hull: 176 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons:
20 Corellian AG-20 Quad Laser Cannons

The Lancer-class Frigate was designed by Kuat Drive Yards as a dedicated anti-starfighter platform following the Battle of Yavin. They utilise the most sophisticated targeting software in the galaxy making them extremely effective against attacking starfighters. However, their lack of capital scale weaponry, weak shields and weak hull make them vulnerable to larger vessels and they rely on other capital ships for protection. As such, they are often deployed in flanking formation with Imperial Star Destroyers, with the Star Destroyers protecting the Lancers from other capital ships and the Lancers protecting the Star Destroyers from starfighters. They were retired from service after decades of action, but were recommissioned during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion when the New Republic experienced a shortage of capital ships. A prominent example is the Pride of Selonia.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Corona-class Line Frigate
Length: 275 metres
Crew: 782
Troop Capacity: 80
Cargo Capacity:
Consumables:
Shields: 2 560 SBD
Hull: 1 700 RU
Starfighter Complement: 1 Squadron
Weapons:
10 Turbolaser Batteries
10 Laser Cannons
4 Ion Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors

Designated as a Line Frigate, the Corona-class is intended for close combat. Designed as an eventual replacement to the highly successful Nebulon-B Escort Frigate, the Corona Frigate provides close line fire support and anti-starfighter cover for cruisers and Star Destroyers. A prominent example is the Boldheart.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate
Length: 300 metres
Crew: 920
Troop Capacity: 75
Cargo Capacity: 6 000 metric tons
Consumables: 2 years
Shields: 960 SBD
Hull: 448 RU
Starfighter Complement: 1 Squadron
Weapons:
12 Turbolasers
12 Laser Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors

In the early days of the Rebellion, these Frigates served as the primary combat cruisers and command ships of the diminutive Rebel fleet. They were originally built by Kuat Drive Yards on Imperial contracts to work against Rebel starfighters, but many of these ships were captured or defected to the Alliance. Later, as the Rebels acquired larger ships, Nebulon-B’s were reassigned to serve in medical, reconnaissance, command, and search-and-rescue roles. Nebulon-B’s still serve the GFFA in escort and anti-starfighter roles.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Star Galleon
Length: 300 metres
Crew: 150
Troop Capacity: 300
Cargo Capacity: 100 000 metric tons
Consumables: 3 months
Shields: 320 SBD
Hull: 228 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons:
10 Turbolasers
1 Concussion Missile Launcher

The KDY Star Galleon was designed as a cargo ship that could defend itself from pirates and rebels. In addition to the substantial weaponry, up to 300 troops can be stationed aboard a Star Galleon ensuring that if the vessel were to be boarded, the precious cargo can be protected. If for some reason the cargo is threatened, the hold can be jettisoned, upon which it automatically jumps into hyperspace.

Craft: SoroSuub Corporation Quasar Fire-class Carrier
Length: 340 metres
Crew: 110
Troop Capacity: 85
Cargo Capacity: 4 000 metric tons if no starfighters carried
Consumables: 1 year

Hull: 800 RU
Starfighter Complement: 4 Squadrons
Weapons:
2 Heavy Turbolasers
4 Ion Cannons
10 Laser Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Quasar Fire-class Carrier is a highly modified version of the SoroSuub Corporation Quasar Fire-class Bulk Cruiser. They carried four squadrons of starfighters, but were extremely lightly armed, mounting only two heavy turbolasers and two tractor beam projectors. This total lack of weaponry meant that these vessels were reliant on their starfighters and other capital ships for escort and protection. Prominent examples include the Thurse and the Flurry.

Craft: Damorian Manufacturing Corporation Carrack-class Light Cruiser
Length: 350 metres
Crew: 1 092
Troop Capacity: 142
Cargo Capacity: 3 500 metric tons

Shields: 880 SBD
Hull: 480 RU
Starfighter Complement: 4 Starfighters
Weapons:
10 Heavy Turbolasers
20 Laser Cannons
5 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Carrack-class Light Cruiser is an old but proven design that still serves in both the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. It is extremely well armed for a vessel its size but this comes at a cost, as there is no hanger space. Four starfighters can be carried on external racks but there is no room for additional support craft.

Craft: Republic Engineering Corporation Sacheen-class Light Cruiser
Length: 375m
Crew: 64
Troop Capacity: 6

Troop Capacity: 6
Cargo Capacity: 300,000 Metric tons
Consumables: 1 Month
Shields: 1 500 SBD
Hull: 900 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons: None

The New Class vessels were constructed with minimal space for consumables, devoting that space instead to weaponry, hull plating, shield generators and starfighters. The Hajen-class Fleet Tender was designed to function as a “flying warehouse”, carrying all the supplies needed to keep a fleet operational. Not exceptionally durable and unarmed, the Fleet Tenders require escorts for protection when entering hostile territory. A prominent example is the Ahazi.

Craft: SoroSuub Corporation Liberator-class Carrier Cruiser

Weapons:
15 Heavy Turbolasers
10 Turbolasers
5 Ion Cannons
8 Tractor Beam Projectors

Loronar Corporation designed the Belarus Medium Cruiser as an eventual replacement for their highly successful Strike Cruiser and it was one of the first vessels constructed under New Republic contracts. They are typically deployed in line formation with lighter ships and are generally assigned to protect the flanks of larger vessels, such as Star Destroyers.

Craft: Loronar Corporation Strike-class Medium Cruiser
Length: 450 metres
Crew: 2 112
Troop Capacity: 340
Cargo Capacity: 2 000 metric tons
Consumables: 1 year

Hull: 1 520 RU
Starfighter Complement: 1 Squadron
Weapons:
10 Heavy Turbolasers
20 Turbolasers
10 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

Loronar Corporation introduced the Strike-class Cruiser as a highly customisable, easily mass-produced vessel. The Strike Cruiser featured a highly modular design, allowing it to be adapted to suit any mission profile. As such, these vessels serve effectively in a number of capacities, from troop transports to starfighter carriers. Introduced before the Battle of Yavin, these vessels still see service throughout the galaxy.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Prowler-class Escort Carrier
Length: 500 metres
Crew: 3 505
Troop Capacity: 800
Cargo Capacity: 5 000 metric tons
Consumables: 2 years
Shields: 2 880 SBD
Hull: 1 360 RU
Starfighter Complement: 6 Squadrons
Weapons:
10 Dual Laser Cannons

The Prowler-class Escort Carrier carries an entire wing of starfighters, greatly augmenting the fighter capacity of a fleet. Their lack of capital scale weaponry requires that they be escorted and kept out of combat situations. In addition to the extensive docking bays, Escort Carriers also possess substantial repair facilities ensuring that their squadrons are maintained at peak condition.

Craft: Mon Calamari Shipyards MC40b Light Cruiser
Length: 500 metres
Crew: 3 758

Hull: 912 RU
Starfighter Complement: 3 Squadrons
Weapons:
30 Quad Laser Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors

Dating back to the days of the Old Republic, Bulk Cruisers were prominent in the Rebel Alliance as they were cheap and easily available. The Rebels refitted many of these vessels as starfighter carriers as their lack of capital scale weaponry means renders them somewhat ineffective in combat.

Craft: Seinar Fleet Systems Vindicator-class Heavy Cruiser
Length: 600 metres
Crew: 2 251
Troop Capacity: 400
Cargo Capacity: 8 000 metric tons
Consumables: 1.5 years

Weapons:
20 Turbolaser Batteries
25 Turbolasers
20 Ion Cannons

The Vindicator Cruisers were built as eventual replacements for the ageing Dreadnaughts and carried an armament far heavier than other vessels of their size. These extremely potent vessels still serve in the Imperial Remnant in large numbers.

Craft: Seinar Fleet Systems Immobiliser-418 Interdictor Cruiser
Length: 600 metres
Crew: 2 807
Troop Capacity: 80
Cargo Capacity: 5 500 metric tons
Consumables: 1.2 years
Shields: 2 880 SBD
Hull: 1 056 RU
Starfighter Complement: 2 Squadrons
Weapons:
20 Quad Laser Cannons
4 Gravity Well Projectors

The SFS Immobiliser-418 Interdictor came into service several months after the Battle of Yavin and is built on the hull of a Vindicator-class Heavy Cruiser. However, it sacrifices almost all the Vindicator’s weaponry for four gravity well projectors. When activated, these projectors create an artificial gravity well, preventing hyperspace travel in the area. Interdictors have been used with devastating effect by Imperial commanders such as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and the GADF now incorporates several of these vessels. The major drawback to the Immobiliser-418 is its lack of capital scale weaponry, causing it to be reliant on escorts for protection in combat.

Craft: Seinar Fleet Systems Immobiliser-418A Interdictor Cruiser
Length: 600 metres
Crew: 2 807
Troop Capacity: 80
Cargo Capacity: 5 500 metric tons

The SFS Immobiliser-418A is a newer model of the highly successful Immobiliser-418 and features a faster hyperdrive, stronger shields and the addition of eight heavy turbolasers for use against enemy capital ships.

Craft: Rendili StarDrive Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser
Length: 600 metres
Crew: 16 113
Troop Capacity: 3 000
Cargo Capacity: 9 000 metric tons
Consumables: 2 years
Shields: 2 560 SBD
Hull: 1 216 RU
Starfighter Complement: 1 Squadron
Weapons:
10 Heavy Turbolasers
10 Turbolasers
20 Quad Turbolasers

The Dreadnaughts came into service during the days of the Old Republic and were amongst the largest and most powerful vessels in the Old Republic Navy. Although moderately armed, the Dreadnaught is sluggish in both hyperspace and sublight, and the hull and shields are weak for a ship of its size. As they make little to no use of droids, Dreadnaughts required over 16 000 crew. Regardless of these shortcomings, Dreadnaughts were plentiful throughout the Imperial Navy and also saw service with the Rebellion, who captured and refitted a number of these ships as “Assault Frigates”.

Craft: Modified Rendili StarDrive Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser “Assault Frigate”
Length: 700 metres
Crew: 4 882
Troop Capacity: 100
Cargo Capacity: 7 500 metric tons

Shields: 2 240 SBD
Hull: 1 176 RU
Starfighter Complement: None
Weapons:
15 Turbolasers
20 Quad Laser Cannons
15 Laser Cannons

The New Republic Assault Frigate was created when a number of Dreadnaughts were captured and heavily modified to increase efficiency and reduce operational expenses. Much of the superstructure was removed and a tail of vertical manoeuvring fins was added to the stern, as well as large-scale droid automation, drastically reducing the crew needs. This came at the cost of internal space, curtailing the number of troops and removing the starfighter capacity. Prominent during the early days of the New Republic, these vessels are quite outdated and consequently rare by the time of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

Craft: Republic Engineering Corporation Defender-class Assault Carrier
Length: 700 metres

Weapons:
10 Quad Turbolasers
40 Double Turbolasers
20 Concussion Missile Tubes
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

First appearing near the end of the Clone Wars, Walex Blissex’s Victory-class Star Destroyer is one of the most successful warship designs in history. Until the advent of the Imperial Star Destroyer, the VSD was considered the ultimate warship. In addition to their considerable combat abilities, VSDs were capable of landing on a planetary surface, a capability not offered by many ships of that size. These vessels were still seeing active duty during the Yuuzhan Vong war and are particularly prevalent in the Corporate Sector, where 250 of these vessels were purchased for sector defence. A prominent example is the

Originally a civilian liner, the MC80 was introduced during the Galactic Civil War when the Mon Calamari decided to join the Rebellion. In converting these vessels for combat, the Mon Calamari added thicker hull plating and shielding, as well as a sizeable weapons complement. These vessels were renowned for their strong and highly redundant shielding systems, making them extremely hard to kill. A prominent example is the Liberty.

Craft: Mon Calamari Shipyards MC80a Star Cruiser
Length: 1 200 metres
Crew: 5 402
Troop Capacity: 1 200
Cargo Capacity: 20 000 metric tons

Weapons:
40 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
40 Heavy Turbolasers
20 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Republic-class Star Destroyer was designed by Walex Blissex, the designer of the original Victory-class Star Destroyer, and was intended to replace the Imperial Star Destroyer in the New Republic Navy. Two Republic Star Destroyers can be produced for the same cost as one Imperial Star Destroyer, while requiring only one fifth the crew and retaining over 85% of the firepower of an ISDII. The Republic-class also carries four starfighter squadrons and 3 200 troops. For some unknown reason however, these vessels never saw extensive production and as such are somewhat uncommon in the GFFA.

The MC90, which appeared in service for the New Republic six years after the Battle of Endor, was the first dedicated warship design from the Mon Calamari. Despite being only slightly larger than its predecessors, it is far more heavily armed and carries a larger complement of starfighters and ground forces. Designed to be able to engage and defeat Imperial Star Destroyers, the MC90 remains one of the most powerful vessels in the New Republic fleet. Prominent examples include the Defiance and the Galactic Voyager.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Imperator-class Star Destroyer Mark I
Length: 1 600 metres
Crew: 37 085
Troop Capacity 9 700
Cargo Capacity: 36 000 metric tons
Consumables: 6 years
Shields: 4 800 SBD
Hull: 2 272 RU
Starfighter Complement: 6 Squadrons
Weapons:
60 Heavy Turbolasers
60 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Imperator-class Star Destroyer is the design that revolutionised the warship market and formed the core of the Imperial Navy. Designed by Lira Wessex, the daughter of the designer of the famous Victory-class Star Destroyers, the ISD was intended to be the symbol of the Galactic Empire and is rightfully feared throughout the galaxy. Its significant weaponry and shielding make it an immensely powerful front-line battleship, but also carries six starfighter squadrons and an entire division of troops making it a very well rounded design. The design endured for decades after its introduction and it still sees widespread use, particularly in the Imperial Remnant. Prominent examples include the Devastator and the Right to Rule.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Imperator-class Star Destroyer Mark II
Length: 1 600 metres
Crew: 37 085
Troop Capacity: 9 700

Hull: 2 500 RU
Starfighter Complement: 6 Starfighter Squadrons
Weapons:
50 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
50 Heavy Turbolasers
40 Laser Cannons
20 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

The ISD II was introduced after the Battle of Yavin as an upgrade of the ISD I and featured thicker hull plating, stronger shielding and a much heavier armament. These vessels steadily replaced the ISD Mark I as the main ship of the line in the Imperial Navy and are still in production during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, thirty years after their introduction. Prominent examples include the Emancipator, Liberator and Chimaera.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Dominator-class Interdictor Star Destroyer
Length: 1 600 metres
Crew: 24 724
Troop Capacity: 5 000
Cargo Capacity: 20 000 metric tons
Consumables: 4 years
Shields: 3 840 SBD
Hull: 2 272 RU
Starfighter Complement: 4 Squadrons
Weapons:
40 Turbolaser Batteries
25 Ion Cannons
20 Laser Cannons
6 Tractor Beam Projectors
4 Gravity Well Projectors

The Dominator-class Star Destroyer was introduced shortly after the Battle of Yavin as Kuat Drive Yards’ answer to Seinar Fleet Systems’ Immobiliser-418 Interdictor Cruiser. It is built on the hull of an Imperator-class Star Destroyer, but mounts four external gravity well projectors. When activated, these projectors create an artificial gravity well, preventing hyperspace travel in the area. These projectors however weaken the hull and the immense power requirements result in reduced shield power, while the compacted hanger now houses only four starfighter squadrons. Despite these tradeoffs, the Dominator-class is far better equipped to engage enemy vessels than the Immobiliser-418, greatly reducing the need for escorts.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Rejuvenator-class Interdictor Star Destroyer
Length: 1 600 metres
Crew: 9 145
Troop Capacity: 2 000
Cargo Capacity: 25 000 metric tons
Consumables: 4 years
Shields: 7 200 SBD
Hull: 2 500 RU
Starfighter Complement: 4 Squadrons
Weapons:
30 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
40 Heavy Turbolasers
20 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors
4 Gravity Well Projectors

The Rejuvenator-class Star Destroyer first appeared during the Yuuzhan Vong war during which it distinguished itself. It is built on the hull of an Imperial Star Destroyer, but like the Dominator Star Destroyer, mounts four gravity well projectors. These projectors come at the cost of reduced weapons, shielding and hull plating, but make the Rejuvenator Star Destroyer one of the most well rounded designs in the GADF. Prominent examples are the Mon Mothma, Elegos A’Kla and Bail Organa.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Allegiance-class Star Destroyer
Length: 2 200 metres
Crew: 45 100
Troop Capacity: 4 850
Cargo Capacity: 45 000 metric tons
Consumables: 6 years
Shields: 8 000 SBD
Hull: 3 200 RU
Starfighter Complement: 6 Squadrons
Weapons:
90 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
90 Heavy Turbolasers
40 Ion Cannons
18 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Allegiance-class is similar to an Imperial Star Destroyer in appearance but is far larger. They generally serve as command ships and as such are heavily armed. They carry a wing of starfighters as well as a several thousand troops, making them an extremely well rounded vessel.

Craft: SoroSuub Corporation Dauntless-class Cruiser
Length: 2 240 metres
Crew: 18 576
Troop Capacity: 6 400
Cargo Capacity: 15 000 metric tons

Hull: 3 262 RU
Starfighter Complement: 4 Squadrons
Weapons:
50 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
50 Heavy Turbolasers
45 Ion Cannons
8 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Dauntless-class was developed from a series of luxury liners and was utilised by the Rebellion as a front warship during the Galactic Civil War. In addition to their sizable armament, these vessels carry advanced sensor and communication equipment.

Craft: Mon Calamari Shipyards Mediator-class Battlecruiser
Length: 2 300 metres
Crew: 16 050
Troop Capacity: 2 000
Cargo Capacity: 55 000 metric tons
Consumables: 4 years
Shields: 14 250 SBD
Hull: 6 500 RU
Starfighter Complement: 6 Squadrons
Weapons:
65 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
65 Heavy Turbolasers
55 Ion Cannon Batteries
10 Concussion Missile Tubes
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

Amongst the most powerful vessels in the New Republic Navy, the Mediator Battle Cruiser represented the pinnacle of Mon Calamari ship design. Like the MC90, these vessels were constructed to the same specifications, a change from earlier Mon Cal designs where each ship was unique in design. A prominent example is the Mediator.

Craft: TransGalMeg Industries Bulwark-class Battlecruiser
Length: 3 501 metres
Crew: 16 720
Troop Capacity: 4 000
Cargo Capacity: 20 000 metric tons

Shields: 4 600 SBD
Hull: 4 000 RU
Starfighter Complement: 10 Squadrons
Weapons:
132 Heavy Turbolasers
58 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

The ageing Bulwark Battlecruiser found acceptance with the Rebellion during the Galactic Civil War where it was typically used as a mobile command base. Given its sheer size and heavy armament, as well as the capacity for four thousand troops and ten starfighter squadrons, it is ideal for large-scale operations. Unfortunately however, it is plagued by unreliable electronics and sensors, resulting in very few of these vessels remaining in active service.

Craft: Mon Calamari Shipyards Home One
Length: 3 800 metres
Crew: 10 325
Troop Capacity: 6000
Cargo Capacity: 100 000 metric tons
Consumables: 11 years
Shields: SBD
Hull: RU
Starfighter Complement: 10 Squadrons
Weapons:
92 Turbolasers
36 Ion Cannons
10 Tractor Beam Projectors

This unique vessel served as Admiral Ackbar’s flagship during the Battle of Endor and remained so until he moved to the MC90 Defiance. Like other Mon Calamari vessels of its time, it was originally a civilian pleasure liner that was converted into a warship. Relatively lightly armed for a vessel its size, it carried ten squadrons of starfighters, making it effectively a “Super Carrier”. Home One was retired from service after distinguishing itself for many years and most probably serves now as a museum.

Craft: Mon Calamari Shipyards Viscount -class Star Defender
Length: 4 500 metres
Crew: 16 395
Troop Capacity: 2 500
Cargo Capacity: 350 000 metric tons

Starfighter Complement: 6 Squadrons
Weapons:
150 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
150 Heavy Turbolasers
150 Ion Cannon Batteries
25 Concussion Missile Tubes
20 Tractor Beam Projectors

These immense vessels first began to appear during the war with the Yuuzhan Vong and were, at 5 kilometres long, the largest vessels of Corellian design. Armed with nearly 500 weapons and carrying a wing of starfighters, the Strident-class is one of the most powerful vessels in the GFFA.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Superior-class Super Star Destroyer
Length: 8 000 metres
Crew: 280 734
Troop Capacity: 38 000
Cargo Capacity: 250 000 metric tons
Consumables: 6 years
Shields: 96 000 SBD
Hull: 45 712 RU
Starfighter Complement: 12 Squadrons
Weapons:
250 Heavy Turbolasers
250 Turbolasers
250 Concussion Missile Tubes
250 Ion Cannons
40 Tractor Beam Projectors

After the completion of the Executor and the Lusankya, Kuat Drive Yards began to design and construct a number of smaller vessels based on similar lines. At just under half the size and a fraction of the cost, the Superior-class Super Star Destroyer became a somewhat common sight in the Empire, functioning primarily as command ships. In addition to their exceptional armament, these behemoths also carry two wings of starfighters and a regiment of troops ensuring the fulfilment of their intended purpose – to symbolise the unlimited power of the Empire.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Sovereign-class Super Star Destroyer
Length: 15 000 metres
Crew: 601 670
Troop Capacity: 130 100
Cargo Capacity: 380 000 metric tons
Consumables: 5 years
Shields: 96 000 SBD
Hull: 47 000 RU
Starfighter Complement: 40 Squadrons
Weapons:
500 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
500 Heavy Turbolasers
75 Ion Cannon Batteries
100 Tractor Beam Projectors
5 Gravity Well Projectors
1 Axial Superlaser

The Sovereign-class Star Destroyer was designed as a scaled down version of the Eclipse-class Star Destroyer. Like it's predecessor, it is equipped with a reinforced prow allowing it to ram smaller vessels. It is armed with over 1 000 guns, but the cornerstone of its armament is the massive axial superlaser. This superlaser is a curtailed version of the Death Star superlaser, and is capable of penetrating planetary shields. Only four of these vessels were ever built and the New Republic destroyed them all within a year of construction.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer
Length: 16 000 metres
Crew: 708 470
Troop Capacity: 150 000
Cargo Capacity: 400 000 metric tons
Consumables: 10 years
Shields: 120 000 SBD
Hull: 65 000 RU
Starfighter Complement: 58 Squadrons
Weapons:
500 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
500 Heavy Turbolasers
75 Ion Cannon Batteries
100 Tractor Beam Projectors
10 Gravity Well Projectors
1 Axial Superlaser

The Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer was designed as the flagship and command vessel of the Reborn Emperor Palpatine and was essentially the ultimate doomsday device. Armed with well over 1 000 weapons and equipped with extremely thick hull plating and inordinately powerful shields, the Eclipse was almost impervious to attack. The cornerstone of its armament however was the massive axial superlaser that was capable of cracking the crust of planet. In addition to this, the Eclipse mounted ten gravity well projectors that prevented hyperspace travel. The many hanger bays also housed fifty squadrons of starfighters, as well as five prefabricated garrison bases and one hundred AT-AT walkers. A troop capacity of 150 000 rounds out the awesome capabilities of this leviathan.

Craft: Kuat Drive Yards Executor -class Super Star Destroyer
Length: 17 600 metres
Crew: 425 000
Troop Capacity: 85 000
Cargo Capacity: 250 000 metric tons
Consumables: 8 years
Shields: 105 000 SBD
Hull: 67 500 RU
Starfighter Complement: 72 Squadrons
Weapons:
1250 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries
1250 Heavy Turbolasers
1250 Ion Cannons
1250 Concussion Missile Tubes
100 Tractor Beam Projectors

The Executor-class Super Star Destroyer is one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the galaxy. At well around eleven miles long, it is one of the largest ships known to exist and it bristles with over 5000 weapons emplacements and carries a staggering twelve wings, or seventy-two squadrons of starfighters. In addition, it houses 85 000 troops and enough consumables to last for eight years without restocking. Due to the massive expenditure involved in constructing these vessels, only two are known to have existed – the Executor, which was Lord Darth Vader’s flagship, and the Lusankya, which was buried under the surface of Coruscant for use as the Emperor’s personal escape ship.

This is just a random thought.

Turbolaser batteries > Turbolasers?

What if Eclipse was modeled as a vessel larger than Executor and had twice the number of weapons? Though the stated length was 17.6 klicks, what if that was using the Executor's erroneous 8 klicks as a yardstick?

The Compendium will no doubt be the pride and joy of Fleet Junkies everywhere. I think Nick must be weeping tears of joy:)

Some thoughts:

Out of curiosity, is there any basis, ie, measurements or comparisons, some actual method, to arrive at the given length of the ships from the game Rebellion, or are they pure unadulterated guesses?

Also, why are all the other ships from Rebellion included, but not the CC-9600 Frigate?

Is there any evidence for the Ralroost being the first BAC? Evidence against same? Could the BACs be Ralroost-class?

Do YOU know of any difference between the Neutron Star-class and Battle Horn-class Bulk Cruisers?

Random Note: While playing Galactic Battlegrounds, I noticed one of the Rebel leaders is Admiral Graf. I looked him up at CUSWE; he is a NR Adm in Tyrant's Test. Apparently, he has been an Admiral for a long time, comparable to Ackbar and Hiram Drayson. Interesting; we don't know the names of many Rebel Admirals pre-Endor, and its nice to see one mentioned (as opposed to the hordes of named Imperial Admirals).

Cilghal, as far as I know there is no difference between the Neutron Star and the Battle Horn bulk cruisers. Perhaps the Neutron Star is an unarmed bulk cruiser, while the Battle Horn is the same vessel but refitted for combat? I'm not sure. I've used Neutron Star in the Compendium as I always assumed it was the correct term.

I neglected to include the CC-9600 Frigate purely by accident. I have some stats for it that I will add in the next edition, probably within the next few days.

As for the lengths and stats of the Rebellion ships, I have scoured the net for as many entries for them as I could find. I took all these entries, deleted the ones that were blatantly erroneous, and tried to collate them such that I would arrive at some reasonable estimates. Do you think there are any problems with any of the figures I have used?

Imperial Assault Frigate (I/FRG)
Craft: Kuat Drive Yard's Class II Frigate
Length: 720 metres
Crew: 4,630
Troop Capacity: 100
Cargo Capacity: 6 000 Metric tons
Consumables: 2 years
Shields: 2 240 SBD
Hull: 1 280 RU
Starfighter Complement: 6 Squadrons, typically
3 TIE Fighter squadrons
1 TIE Interceptor squadron
1 TIE Bomber squadron
1 Xg-1 Star Wing (Assault Gunboat) squadron
Weapons:
20 Turbolasers (WOTC) [20 Turbolaser Batteries 7D WEG]
20 Double Turbolaser Cannons (4D+2 WEG)
10 Ion Cannons (4D WEG)
4 Tractor Beam projectors

A new Imperial design at the time of the Battle Of Yavin, the Imperial Assault Frigate, or Class II Frigate as it is properly named, is found throughout the Empire patrolling various spaceways. The frigate is based somewhat off the old Acclamator Troop Transport, and this is readily visible by the fact that the Class II Frigate shares the same wedgeshaped profile as many of the Empire's starships. Unlike the Acclamators, the Imperial Assault Frigate has a bare minimum of troops, and instead carries a impressive six squadrons of TIEs, which allows the Class II Frigate to more effectively patrol space; usually one of the squadrons is made up of hyperdrive-equipped Xg-1 Star Wings, also known as Assault Gunboats, which allows the Frigate to monitor several systems at once. Part of the reasoning behind the high amount of fighters carried by the Imperial Assault Frigate is a direct result of the Imperial Navy's general distaste for KDY's Escort Carrier; KDY execs decided that the Empire's top brass would be more willing to buy a fighter carrier that shared the same dagger profile of Star Destroyers or Vindicator Cruisers, rather than the unelegant boxy shaped Escort Carrier. The I/FRG has an astonishing four hangar bays to carry its fighters and various transports, with the two more frontal bays carrying each a pair of TIE squadrons, and the more aft hangars carrying each a single squadron: the shuttles and transports carried by the Frigate launch from the latter bays as well. The Assault Frigate is fairly powerful in terms of weaponry, but the small amount of troops onboard the capital ship has been considered somewhat of a problem: a notable incident showing this defciency was when the I/FRG Rand Ecliptic was seized by her crew of fighter pilots and some other dissident crewmen, despite the best efforts of the Emperor's valiant stormtroopers

Note: I just bought the Darklighter tradeback, and decided that it was time for stats for the Rand Ecliptic. Now, I gave it a low troop capacity because of how seemingly easy it was for the ship to be seized, and I gave it a lot of TIEs because, hey, you need to be carrying a fair amount of something to be needing four hangar bays. I also just combined the name Imperial Assault Frigate and Class II Frigate [they refer to it once as a Class II Frigate and at the same time they mention it is a new ship], and I effectively made it into an Imperial version of the Liberator Cruiser/Frigate.

Feedback is appreciated.

I like it. The stats all line up and make a lot of sense. If you don't mind, I'd like to include it in the next edition of the Ship Compendium as I think this is an excellent set of HypoStats.

Interesting idea, equating the Imp Aslt Frigate with the Class II. Can't be proven, but it is plausible. Perhaps one day it will be an official retcon:)

Kris, I see no problem per se with the Rebellion ship measurements, it is just I was curious if there was some actual method used to determine those measurements or if they were just numbers "pulled out of a hat." It is my dream to see WOTC all of a suuden surprise me and make stats for the Bulwark, Liberator, Dauntless, CC-9600, and CC-7700 so their lengths could be determined and we could get an idea of their actual size, etc. I am also curious who made the Dauntless.

All we know for sure is that the Dauntless is >1200m long, and the Bulwark is bigger than the Dauntless. The Liberator is said to be remarkably small for a Cruiser.

You might want to add the Executor Mark II, with superior shields.

The only mistake I could find is the Republic-class Cruiser. This may seem nitpicky, but the manufacturer IS NOT Kuat Drive Yards; it is Kuat Systems Engineering, which branched off from KDY. Acc. to CUSWE, "KSE was sold off [by KDY] to a group of Imperial loyalists. It was later revealed that the loyalists were really Vaathkree merchants with strong ties to the New Republic." Thus, it seems KSE made ships for the NR even before KDY did, back when KDY was still pro-Imperial, before the NR's conquest of Kuat. So it should be distinguished as a separate company: KSE (pro-NR) vs. KDY (pro-Imp); this is similar to pro-NR FreiTek making E-wings vs. pro-Imperial Incom making Howlrunners.

This is not a mistake, but you might want to make this change: Loronar Corporation does make the Strike-class and Belarus-class; that is not a mistake. But to be more specific, the branch of LC that makes these warships is Loronar Defense Industries. Your judgment call on that change--purely optional.

Have a Super Golden Ewok™ and five escorting Imperial-class Golden Ewoks™!

I like the Superior-class solution a lot, btw - just a couple of minor queries, though...

Is the Dauntless definately a SoroSuub design? And the phrase "civilian liner" with regard to the Mon Cal ships... am I the only person who thinks that's a Chinese whisper? Anyone with early WEG stuff able to say specifically what they say there? thinking

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I am glad to see that the project has been well-received thus far.
I am currently compiling a list of amendments that need to be made for the second edition. So far I have the KDY error with the Republic Cruiser that Cilghal pointed out and the Loronar Defense Industries branch manufacturing the Strike and Belarus Cruisers. Keep them coming so that I can make the second one even better.

As for the Dauntless definitely being of SoroSuub design, I am not sure. I have seen it described as such but as there are no official stats it is almost impossible to establish what is reasonable and what is not. The two manufacturers most commonly quoted as being the designers of the Dauntless are the Mon Cals and the Sullustans, and it just doesn't look like a Mon Cal ship to me. I went with SoroSuub, but if this is a problem please let me know.

Props to FTeik I believe it was who gave me the name Superior-class. I felt that it was an excellent compromise that was representative of our discussions in the thread so I am glad everyone seems to be keen on it.

Also, I have another set of stats for CC-7700 that I have dug up from an old file on my computer so here are the two for your comparison. Tell me which you think is more appropriate and that one will be included. I personally think the 180 metres I gave it in the last edition was a little short, but I would like some other opinions. Additionally, please peruse and comment on these stats for the CC-9600, which I completely forgot to include in the last one. I hate the look of that ship by the way. It just looks like an insect to me. Enjoy.

Perhaps the Dauntless is a SoroSuub liner that was modified into a warship by the Mon Calamari? The would explain it better IMO. The vessels exterior is obviously not Mon Cal, no bumbs or blisters. I think we could all just assume that the Rebellion purchased several or SoroSuub liners and said, "Hey, Mon Cals, this is right up your alley!"

Excellent work there. I am very impressed. Are we sure the Eclipse is 16'000 metres long? Other sources say 17'500 (EGTVV).
