Wow Funny you ask for the later levels of that game cuz the truth of it is that My Girlfriend had it on the PC a couple years ago and I only got to play thru to level 4 when her computer crashed. So its been a while since I played it and the funny thing is that I just ordered the game again on amazon a couple days ago So Im currently awaiting it.
However I did find a walkthrough that looks like it gives a good level summary for ya so i think it should help. http://www.gamespot.com/features/tpm_gg/walk.html
As for the Placement of the Battlefront 2 levels and how they integrate with Revenge of the sith I played both games back to back And it seemed like those 2 Games were suppose to go hand in hand. I highly suggest playin the 2 in that order and seein how it pans out.

Because it deals with the games' stories and their place in the EU, rather than their gameplay.

Hi all,
Well, I've been gone for awhile, but I finally battled through the NES and Game Boy versions of Star Wars, and survived to tell the tale. Better late than never, huh? Yay!!
Star Wars
The game came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System (1991) and Nintendo Game Boy (1992). There was also releases for the Sega Master System (1993) and Sega Game Gear (1993). The NES release marked the end of a seven year dry spell for console Star Wars games. Both Nintendo versions play entirely the same. Game designers did an impressive job fitting all levels and gameplay elements into the Game Boy version. I used the NES game manual to figure out the names and layouts of each level. The Nintendo versions will be the ones covered below.
Level 1 - Tatooine
"...The Tatooine Desert is a desolate wilderness, populated by dangerous creatures. Accompanied by your new droid, C-3PO, you are searching for the runaway droid, R2-D2..."
The game starts off with Luke's search for Artoo. The entire planet of Tatooine is laid out as a single, vast level. One can go from the Jawa Sandcrawler to the Cantina at Mos Eisley, then head back to meet Obi-Wan and get your father's lightsaber and journal to a few caves. I'll try and breakdown the different locales as described in the manual.
"Tatooine Desert"
The player controls Luke as he travels across the planet on his landspeeder. The view is top-down. In the desert there are many radar dishes, roving banthas, probe droids, and laser turrets. If Luke comes into contact with these baddies, or their weapons fire, he takes damage. The landspeeder cannot fire back, just accelerate away. The main point of vehicle section is to get to the other parts of Tatooine.
"Tatooine Caves"
There are a number of caves scattered across the Tatooine desert. Most of them involve Luke jumping around and shooting creatures, Sandpeople, and some other alien. There are small shield icons that can be used to upgrade the shields of the Falcon for level 2.
"Sandcrawler"
Who knew the inside of a sandcrawler was so huge! Artoo needs to be rescued from Jawas. There's even a cameo of a Battle Droid!
"Obi-Wan's Cave"
Luke's encounter with Obi-Wan seems to take place inside a cave, rather than at his home. Maybe the game is just conveying a bad representation of the Jedi's home; though he'd need to do something about that killer bug problem, and the nasty houseguest!!
"Mos Eisley"
The streets of Mos Eisley prove to be deadly. There's even an encounter with Boba Fett (specifically mentioned as a character in the NES manual).
"Mos Eisley Cantina"
Here Luke blasts a few aliens in the Cantina, before teaming up with Han Solo. Once they meet up, the player can switch between Han and Luke in any of the sidescrolling stages. No Chewie though!
"Mos Eisley Docking Bay 94"
They player must fight stormtroopers, as well as the hanger's own defenses, before finally reaching the Falcon.
All these elements constitute Level 1. Whew! TOD-UK, please fit this in as best you can. Basically the first level encompasses everything from the search for Artoo to the escape from Mos Eisley. That's nearly a third of the movie!
I don't think any other source mentions a fight with Boba Fett. The best way to play it in-continuity is to avoid shooting at him. Just run away without firing back. Tough, but possible.
Level 2 - Asteroid Field
This level involves dodging asteroids (fragments of Alderaan) with your shields as the only defense. The Falcon's weapons aren't used. The manual makes clear where this level fits in continuity, right as the Millennium Falcon drops out of hyperspace into the Alderaan system.
Level 3 - The Death Star
The characters must leave the Falcon and get up to the control room. Along the way they dodge blaster fire, and try to find the right elevator. This level takes place between the Falcon's arrival at the Death Star, and the discovery that Princess Leia is on board.
Level 4 - Tractor Beam
This level is difficult to place, because Obi-Wan isn't involved. Instead, players can choose either Luke or Han to destroy the tractor beam. Maybe Han & Luke came across another tractor room while wandering the station and thought best to destroy it, just in case.... . Anyway, it takes place before the heroes reach the detention block. Neither Han or Luke are in stormtrooper gear.
Level 5 - Death Star Cell Block / Hallway Two
This level starts after the destruction of the tractor beam, and ends with the rescue of Leia. To keep in continuity, the player should choose Luke, at least for the end portion of this level. Again, neither Han or Luke wear the stormtrooper suit.
Level 6 - Trash Compactor
It seems the heroes had a detour when they jumped down that shoot! They end up taking a long diversion battling various droids, including what appears to be a Geonosian Battle Droid! Cool! That's a nice retcon-in-the-making...
This level takes place between the rescue of Princess Leia and the escape from the trash compactor. Beginning with Leia's rescue, the player can choose to control any of the three main characters. Still no Chewie!
Level 7 - Death Star Hanger
After leaving the trash compactor, the heroes must evade various droids and spikes to reach the Falcon. This level is also easy to place. Unfortunately, there's no swinging over a chasm. No duel between Vader and Obi-Wan either.
Level 8 - Millennium Falcon Gunner
Here the player assumes the role of Han or Luke, trying to fight off TIEs with the Falcon's guns. This was the hardest level for me to play, and kept me stuck for weeks before I figured out how to beat it. This level corresponds with the Falcon's flight away from the Death Star, before reaching the Yavin system.
Level 9 - X-wing Fighter Pilot
The X-Wing must battle against waves of TIEs before reaching the Death Star itself. Definitely easier in the Game Boy version. The manual clearly indicates R2-D2 is onboard, so the player is controlling Luke. This level takes place between the X-Wings' launch from Yavin IV, and arrival upon the Death Star's surface.
Level 10 - X-wing on the Death Star
There is no surface battle here, unlike other Star Wars games. Here, the player goes immediately to the trench. Luke must evade the walls and dodge barriers in the middle of the trench, all while trying to blast TIEs. I didn't notice the TIE's shooting back, nor Vader's ship for that matter. Once the Death Star is destroyed, a small end scene is shown. A simple "well done!" screen is shown on the Game Boy version.
This level is easy to place; with all the other trench run levels in Star Wars games.
TOD-UK , please add these levels to your awesome list. I think it will be important to point out any distinctions with the Game Gear version, as mentioned by Rouge_Follower. I'll see if I can find out more regarding that. All the level names (except level 10) come from the manual, viewable here. Level 10's name is based on the manual section "X-Wing Controls on the Death Star", which explains how to play the trench run.
I posted nearly 400 screenshots of the NES and Game Boy versions. Feel free to peruse. There's more tidbits of interest scattered about. But still no Chewie!!!!
Next I'll tackle the NES/GBY versions of Empire Strikes Back, as well as the mysterious Namco Star Wars. Now that I've got a gander on how to survive these TOUGH games, I should be able to provide information in a timely manner (weeks, not months).

Nice work Daniel, looks like its going to get a bit crowded up there. I might have to include a brief description of each level to better co-ordinate them continuity-wise

Actually, that "Boba Fett" may not be him after all. The video game enemy corresponds to a picture of an unnamed bounty hunter in Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters almost exactly, right down to the little antenna on his jetpack.
