I think it is set later. Dooku was a Sith and that would have taken a few months for him to join Sideous.

Boba is about to turn 10 in the AotC novelization, which is set 10.2 years after TPM, meaing that Boba would have to be been born at the latest 3 months after TPM. The Kamino deal gets sealed at the end of Bounty Hunter, thus it has to take place within those 3 months.

1.5 months after BoG Boba is 11. According to Maze of Deception. I'm not sure if AotC is set 10 or 11 years after tPM. In any case BH takes place about 6 months to a year after tPM. According to Jango Fett: Open Seasons and logic because Dooku became a Sith after Maul's death.

According to Holonet News, 10.2 years transpire between the Battle of Naboo and the Battle of Geonosis.

Also, I think it's safe to assume that Dooku became a Sith Lord pretty quickly after TPM. He'd already had dabblings in Sith teachings according to Legacy of the Jedi, during his tenure in the Jedi Order, and (if we look at Anakin's, Quinlan's, Ulic's and a number of other Jedi's falls from grace) Sidious's corruption of Dooku probably didn't take all that long.

As for Boba being 11 in Boba Fett # 3, I think that's a mistake. I believe that was brought up when the book came out, not to mention that Boba is 12 in book 5 and that's set more than 2 years after book 3.

Also, where in Open Seasons does it say how long it's been since TPM? I don't remember it giving any solid figures.

I kind of figured it was. I am reading it now.

But Jango Fett: Open Seasons has Jango in slavery until just after tPM. I believe 2 years before tPM he was enslaved and then he escaped after 2 years. And then he hunted down those responsible and then became a bounty hunter. Not much time to become the #1 bh. I didn't write it I just collected it all.

"Rebel Strike: Tatooine Training"

Anyone notice that at first glance it seems like Tatooine training should go before ANH, or even the radio drama prologue material?

Yet, there are certain issues that make it impossible to be there or during the radio drama prologue material...

C-3PO is already with Luke at the homestead.

R2-D2 has been captured by Jawas again, and Luke has to free him from the sandcrawler that he's in.

In the radio drama, Luke never won a race against Fixer before, and the first time he did, he damaged the ship to the point that it would have to have parts replaced to repair it, and he knew it would upset his uncle. In the game Fixer makes refrences to that race, mentions that luke finally had time to fix the T-16 (something he didn't have time to do in the radio drama), and is upset that he lost the previous race and wants a rematch.

Among other things...

If we go into Rogue Leader's tatooine training it actually backs up Hoth Stuff's wedge history, about Wedge spending at least some time on Tattooine before ANH... Some would argue that's not such a good thing...

Then there was Tatooine training in Rogue Squadron 3-D that had Wedge, Dac, and Zev, but that had to be after ANH.

Well another thing I've noticed is that Revenge of the Empire level in rebel strike has to occur around the same time as the escape in Star Wars Kids. Which had to have occured about 1 month after the battle of Yavin, due to the fact that Q-7N (who was discovered the day after the death star in missions book 1) was involved with catching Rogor's transmissions, but left the company of Luke Skywalker during books 17-20, which start about 4-5 weeks after the battle of Yavin (about 2-3 weeks after book 1).

Not only that but Luke helps Dodonna escape into a transport before it lifts off, which more or less fits in with Star Wars kids escape (heavy equipment escape as the Essential Chronology puts it).

Another thing is that defecting Tycho plotline from rebel strike has to occur concurrently or in between books 17-18 of missions, as Tycho is already with Rogue Squadron in Book 18 as first seen in chapter 3 (correct me if Tycho shows up earlier in books 1-4 or not), he has several important scenes.

Interesting Val. I hadn't thought to place those missions where you say, but I think that'd work.

Up...

Also, while replaying X-Wing, I found something puzzeling: in one of the levels (twelve, I believe)of the first Tour of Duty, Crix Madine's name is mentioned in the context that "General Madine" was planning an operation to destroy the SD Invincible. But at this time, Madine was an Imperial officer.

Now, is there a canon answer to this problem, as the Tour is before the Battle of Yavin, and Madine's defection to the Alliance was after? The only reasonable explanation I can see is that he was even then working on the Rebel's side.

Any ideas?

Hmm. Wasn't Madine an undercover agent at the time?

Thats all I can think of, Val, unless there is another General Madine somewhere...

In the Essential Chronology, it says that Madine defected because he was "forced to release an incurable plague on a planet." However, a date for this mission is not given. In the EGtC, it states that Madine's final mission was left unfinished. I would assume that the plague was this final mission.

So, do we know exactly when Madine defected? It depends on whether Madine was trying to defect at once, or was waiting for the right time. I doubt the Empire would miss someone like Madine being gone for very long.

Well, according to the EC, it happened after ANH, but before Dark Forces.

I'd say to check the x-wing strat guide for further explanation since it was novelized, but it probably wouldn't help much since farlander papers also assumed that he defected before ANH, based on refrences it made to Rebel Era Sourcebook and other WEG material.

The assumed explanation however is that document in farlander papers was a revised and expanded version of the Rebel propaganda booklet, attached to document some time after ANH.

The other interpretation is that he had defected before ANH, but continued to play the mole from within the Imperial ranks until he was given a mission he knew he couldn't do because it went beyond anything he'd do as a mole, at which point he fully defected, but was arrested before he got the chance to escape (Kyle had to free him).

But if I get time later, I'll check the novel to see if will be forced to interpret things yet another way, tongue ...
