RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
In the second arc of the YJK youth reader novels, where Boba Fett is in fact Ailyn Vel, his daughter, rogue Jedi and ex-Darksider Zekk wants to become a bounty hunter. He gets her to train him in the arts, thinking she is actually the legendary Boba Fett. You might look it up, her teachings contain Bounty Hunting lore, maybe some Mandalorian in it as well.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Note: Here's some start, I didn´t check everything, maybe later I continue the Quest for Completeness^^
From YJK Shards of Alderaan:
"Boba Fett did not care about his employer's politics or her reasons. That was not a bounty hunters business. She had set the bounty and Fett had to do a job."
From YJK : Diversity Alliance
"Why he kept to him-self--hiring out only as a bounty hunter, when he could have been a great leader--was a mystery to her."
(seems to be a hint at the true Boba as Lord Mandalore in the making ^^)
"Zekk said: "You were trying to kill my friends. I only defended them." Boba Fett stood straight, as if taken aback. He raised his blaster pistol a little, slightly off target from Zekk. "Then you fired upon me with honor," he said. "Understandable.""
(Mandalorians and honor again^^)
""Your mission does not conflict with mine. No bounty hunter may kill another on a hunt unless they are direct rivals Bounty Hunters Creed. I will not harm you."
"Then why did you shoot at me?" Zekk asked. Gradually he lowered his hands from his gesture of surrender.
"Had I truly intended to hit you, I would have succeeded," Boba Fett said."
From YJK: Delusions of Grandeur:
"The bounty hunter pondered in silence. "You must not betray your employer. That is one of the worst crimes a bounty hunter can commit.""
(Ailyn Vel alias Boba Fett darüber wie man 2 konfligierende Aufträge löst:)
""Deliver the first bounty, take payment, and terminate
your service with that employer. Then pursue the second bounty with a clear conscience, since you no longer work for the employer who might be harmed."
That´s most of what I found worth transcribing, I will continue the hunt through multiple sources later! Hope it helps, and if you know a source I might check for ya, tell me!

Thanks for posting the intel Reverend_Tegoth.
I'm not entirely happy with the idea that the Mandalorians were originally simian humanoids rather than an actual human culture. I've now got the image in my mind of Cornelius from
Planet of the Apes
in Mandalorian armour and it won't go away!

CeiranHarmony - Thanks for the contributions! If you would post future contributions in bold (you probably know this already, but by typing [.b]at the beginning of the transcription/summary and then typing [/.b] at the end of it, and then removing the two ".", it will make the text bold) in order to help differentiate between references and speculation/conversation, and in order to make the references stand out more, it would be much appreciated
. Regardless, thank you very, very much for contributing those quotes. If you like I would be very interested in more detailed summaries of Ailyn/Boba's actions and involvement in the YJK series.
Quiet_Mandalorian - I love Abel to death, and his article kicked all sorts of booty, but I have no idea why he referred to the original Mandalorians as "simianlike". Here's a picture from
Star Wars - Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War
of what they looked like:

Here are all the Fett and Mandalorian references from
Star Wars: Dark Empire
:
Luke inside an Imperial Dungeon Ship: "But to the eyes of the Force, these Mandalorian walls don't even exist!"
Seemingly heavily damaged
Slave-I
style ship seen in orbit around Nar Shaddaa.
As Han and Leia arrive on Nar Shaddaa in the
Millennium Falcon
, the
Slave-II
(presumably piloted by Boba Fett and Dengar) chases after him. The two ships exchange fire until Han ducks into a hologram covered chute and the
Slave-II
refuses to follow (wisely, as it turns out - the shoot is filled with "security turbos" belonging to Han's associate which obliterate the ship of the more foolish and gung-ho bounty hunter that
does
follow them in).
Boba Fett, Dengar, and some lackeys get the drop on Solo in his long-abandoned hovel on Nar Shaddaa (after having already apparently roughed up Han's droid "ZeeZee"). It appears to be the first time Han has seen Fett since ROTJ. Fett tells Han that the Sarlacc found him "somewhat indigestible." He also says that there are a lot of people that would pay to see Han dead, but the Hutts want him alive so that they can watch him die. Dengar adds that they especially want Leia for what she did to Jabba, and Han bolts, blasting his way from the scene. A chase/firefight ensues through the streets of Nar Shaddaa, during which Boba Fett blasts a Hutt crime lord's hovering "floater" with one of his wrist rockets, causing the Hutt to freak out and plummet to what seems to be their doom (Reverend's Note - Maybe he was indulging in a little "Bounty Hunter" video game style secondary bounty action. Heh.). Han and Leia jump on the floater and escape to the
Starlight Intruder
- Salla Zend's ship (which has the
Millennium Falcon
attached to it at the time). Boba and Dengar give chase in the
Slave-II
which Boba assures Dengar is "faster then that junker!" - obviously referring to the
Starlight Intruder
.
The
Intruder
comes out of hyperspace at Byss with Boba Fett hot on their tail. As they rocket towards the planet Salla transmits the code to have the planetary shields lowered, and Fett attempts (to the dismay of Dengar) to follow them through.
Slave-II
doesn't get there in time and bounces off of the shield, seemingly pretty badly damaged. Dengar is irate and tells Fett that this is the last time he'll work with him. "Fine by me," Fett says. "Won't have to split the bounty on Solo."

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Ailyn Vel alias Boba Fett - Summary of her role in the 2nd Story arc of YJK:
Note: I only concentrated on the Ailyn parts of the YJK novels, for the full story look timetales or the books themselves.
The Diversity Alliance leader, female Twilek Nolaa Tarkona, hires Boba Fett, unbeknownst to her that under the helmet is in fact his daughter, Ailyn Vel. The Diversity Alliance is a union of several Alien species that hate humans and the darkness they had brought upon the galaxy decades ago under the Empire.
Sidenote from the Mandalorian Article:
Ailyn is on a quest to search her father, and using his alias she thinks to get his attention, like Jodo Kast once did, or to learn more about her father and his former partners, who might be a lead to him. Boba Fett himself had dissapeared for some years and is meanwhile training the new Mandalorian Protectos, after Fenn Shysas sacrifice to safe Boba Fett.
(see Mandalorian Article references for more information about this)
YJK: Shards of Alderaan
Hunting Bornan Thul, Alderaanian Merchant, whose family is leading a huge merchant fleet of Alderaanian survivors, her first encounter with the Solokids and their friends is in the Alderaan system. On a memorial day to those lost lives 24 years ago, the YJK gang journeys to the Alderaanian asteroid field, and with them is Raynar Thul, the son of the Merchant family's leader, who is a Jedi Trainee on Luke Skywalkers Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV. Not knowing that her father settled his personal quest for Han Solo few years ago, Ailyn arrives in the Slave IV, built after her fathers famours Slave I, and dogfights the Teenagers, who are flying in Tenel Ka's Hapan Rock Dragon ship. Fleeing into one of the asteroids caves, Ailyn follows them and disables their ship, demanding Raynar Thul. Thinking he might know where his father, who she is looking for, went. When she learns that the YJK doesn´t know it either, she finally leaves the YJK trapped in the cave, blasting the entrance before she leaves. The distress call of the Rock Dragon meanwhile is reaching Han Solo who comes to the rescue, but Ailyn was waiting for him, using his kids as bait, hoping to get more information from Han Solo, who knew Bornan Thul. But while Ailyn scanned the Rock Dragons computer core for any usable data, MTD, the YJKs own little droid scans the Slave IVs computer and manages to warn Han, to not fly into the trap. Enraged about the failure Ailyn threatens the YJK nearly killing them. Coming out of hyperspace fast is the YJKs friend, former Darksider and orphand Coruscant boy, Zekk, who attacks the Slave IV with his "Lightning Rod", causing Ailyn to retreat. Later, not wanting to join the Jedi, forcesensitive Zekk decides to become a Bounty Hunter.
YJK: Diversity Alliance
On Borgo Prime, Zekk has also found a lead to Bornan Thul. He decides to follow it up, hoping to make a name for himself, and goes to Gammalin. Once there, he witnesses a scene of carnage as a plague has wiped out the population of the world. While searching for clues about what happened, he is confronted by Boba Fett.
On Gammalin, Fett decides not to kill Zekk because his actions at Alderaan were honorable. Together, the two bounty hunters search for clues and find a message from an alien which informs them that the plague was brought to the planet by him on accident, on orders of Nolaa Tarkona. When he was jailed by the humans on the planet, but the humans all died of the plague, he was left to die in prison with no one to give him sustenance. The only one who knows how to stop the spread of this plague, it seems, is Bornan Thul. Knowing this, Fett and Zekk part ways.
YJK: Delusions of Grandeur
On Borgo Prime, Zekk has returned and is hired by a mysterious, disguised man to find Tyko Thul, Bornans Brother, and deliver a message to the Thul family. With a little deduction, Zekk realizes that the employer is Bornan Thul himself. Zekk heads for Ziost to look for the Thuls. He is attacked by Dengar, but is able to escape and get the message out to Aryn Thul, Bornans wife. On Ryloth, Nolaa Tarkona's plans continue. She intends to use a plague created by Evir Derricote for Emperor Palpatine that even Palpatine was afraid of. It has the ability to kill only humans and is extremely lethal. She now must find Bornan Thul because only he knows where she can find the depot which holds the Emperor's old stores of this plague. Zekk goes to Tatooine to speak with Boba Fett (Ailyn). After speaking with Fett, Zekk believes that he will do what a true bounty hunter would do--find Tyko Thul, get paid for the job, and then bring Bornan Thul to Nolaa Tarkona as well.
YJK: Jedi Bounty
Far from Ryloth, Zekk informs Bornan Thul that he knows who he is. Thul tells Zekk the story of how he found out about Palpatine's human-specific plague and gives Zekk the navicomputer that Tarkona wants. He hopes that Zekk can get it to the right people in time to stop Tarkona from finding the storehouse and carrying out her plans of genocide. Bringing it to Yavin IV, his friends forces and the senate prepare taking measures against the Diversity Alliance.
YJK: The Emperor's Plague
Zekk and Raynar Thul proceed from Yavin IV to Bornan Thul's hideout, but learn that Boba Fett has beaten them there and taken the coordinates to the plague storehouse from Thul's computer. Fett gives this information to Nolaa Tarkona and she takes the Diversity Alliance's armada (leaving the Ryloth base virtually empty). With that Ailyn Vel is out of the game and paid. The YJK gang, Zeck and co manage to win against the Diversity alliance, destroying the plague and Bornan Thul is killed with the plague before by Nolaa Tarkona, who gets infected herself by an slow alien-killing plague that was stored in the same storehouse.
ENJOY, more quotes and other sources to follow.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Thanks once again for the Ailyn/Boba info CeiranHarmony, it's much appreciated

More from the Insider #80 article:
Arms and Armor
Mandalorian Shock Trooper Armor -
Mandalorian armor comes in several forms, from the Crusader armors of the Old Sith Wars, to the Super Commando armors of the True Mandalorians, Protectors, and Death Watch.
Later supercommando armor bristled with weaponry like kneepad rocket-dart launchers, wrist lasers, mini-concussion rockets, and flamethrowers, but Crusader armor was far sparser due to the fact that the Crusaders generally considered hand-to-hand combat the greatest honor. Crusader armor did come with a Zim Systems rocket pack as good, or better, then that of the famed Old Republic Rocket Jumpers. As such, Crusader armor could be sealed for flights through vacuum. Later Mandalorian armor typically employed jet-propulsion packs instead, like the Mitrinomon Z-6, which were less cumbersome and came equipped with a standard grappling-missile.
Crusader armor was organic in appearance and could vary considerably from one soldier to the next. For the holy wars on the Republic, Mandalorian armor became more uniform. Still lacking the weaponry of later shock trooper generations, the bulky armor of the Mandalorian Wars' Neo-Crusaders was sleek and seen in a variety of colors. This armor later inspired Republic Senate Guard designs.
The Mandalorian Mercs were not especially picky about their appearance and often sported an armor hodge-podge from different eras. However, their pride still ran so deeply that they took to wearing simple capes or hunting kama (later adopted by ARC troopers).
Eventually this attitude led to increasing uniformity and the supercommando armor of the True Mandalorians and Mandalorian Protectors. True Mandalorians often sported several color combinations, from overall greens and grays to silvers and blues, while outlining their helmet visors in various shades. The Protectors added identifying insignia to their breastplates and helmets.
Death Watch armor varies from that of the supercommandos only cosmetically: it is stark black with menacingly chiseled helmets. Supercommando and Death Watch armor both utilize costly miniaturization technology to create the most protective form-fitting covering with minimal mobile hindrance. Death Watchmen were also known to wear forbidden crushgaunts.
Mandalorian Crushgaunts: Made with micronized Mandalorian Iron, crushgaunts were a trademark of the ethically depraved Mandalorian Mercs. These gloves give wearers the ability to crush and rend objects, including throats, limbs, and skulls, with sickening ease. Crushgaunt production ended centuries ago when the Mandalorian government outlawed their use, but they can occassionally be found on the Invisible Market. one of Darth Vader's gloves is rumored to be a crushgaunt.
Mythosaur Axe: Named for an extinct gargantuan monster from the Mandalorian's past, the Mythosaur Axe is a traditional Mandalorian weapon. With overlapping blades of calcified mythosaur bone on either side of the handle, this shell like pattern makes any point on the razor sharp axe deadly.
Mandalorian Manacles: Made from nearly impervious Mandalorian Iron, these instruments, designed for binding captives' wrists or ankles, were a popular export from Mandalore before advanced binders like force shackles, energy links, and lasercuffs came along. These manacles are still a regular part of the repertoire of Mandalorian police forces and shock troopers alike.
Mandalorian Iron: Used in the production of weapons, starships, and even tombs, Mandalorian Iron is all but indestructible. The method by which Mandalorian blacksmiths give shape to the mineral is a closely guarded secret passed on from one generation of metallurgists to the next.
Battle Legionnaire (BL-Series) Droid: Produced in limited quantities in smoldering Seperatist foundries, these warbots aided the Mandalorian Protectors during the Clone Wars. Highly manueverable and deceptively strong, the 1000 costly Battle Legionnaires were armed with deadly rectangular Briletto AAP-II "Blaster Boxes." Serving in a capacity similar to that of the frontline Mandallian Giants in the New Sith Wars, most BL-droids met thier demise at the Norval II conflict.
Wing-Blast Rocket Pack: Like the Mandalorian Battle Harness, the Wing-Blast rocket pack is deadly. Capable of atmospheric and deep space flight upwards of 500 kph, the experimental rocket packs wings are lined with mini-concussion missiles within and heavy rotating blasters outside. In a copy of the Mitrinomon Z-6 jetpacks missile, the Wing-Blast also incorporates a proton torpedo cannon. Seemingly overkill, MandalMotors' General Zenlav allegedly designed the Wing-Blast rocket pack, but when the project called for the use of an untested photonic beam Zenlav shelved the design. Centuries later Boba Fett came into possession of the rocket pack's schematic, fitted it with a proton torpedo cannon to circumvent the photonics problem and used the modified pack to assualt the Tulvarees guardians of Fortress Baarlos and collect the bounty on Faarl the Conquerer.

So, where does Ghez Hokan, the bad Mandalorian from Hard Contact, fit? From what I understood, he was a fellow True Mandalorian to Jango.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Ghez Hokan was a former Death Watch men. That is stated in Hard Contact.
Jasters Mandalorians were wiped out by the Death Watch, and before Jango became Bounty Hunter, he hunted down the Death Watch killing many of them, but not all of them. Most of the Death Watch retired afterwards and Jango became Bounty Hunter, killing Montross in the Bounty Hunter Game.
During the Clone Wars, Ghez Hokan sided with the Separatists for his own reasons. He respected the Mandalorian Jango was, but what he´d done to the Mandalorian culture and the clones, he disliked.
later, former Death Watch men, as well as very good fighters recruited out of multiple police and guard forces througout the galaxy, were united by renegade ARC-clone Alpha-02 nicknamed Spar. Mandalore Spar trained his new Mandalorians then and overcame Jangos hatred for the death watch, incorporating those former death watch men into his mandalorians, siding with the Separatists because the republic wouldn´t allow what he´d done.
though it is unknown when exactly Spar started the rebirth of the Mandalorian culture. So it might be before or after Ghez Hokans death. Though it seemed they weren´t around during Hokans life, because he worked alone and disliked clones, who were a perversion of the original mandalorians in his eyes.
Note/Question: Reverend, when will you/we add references from Hard Contact to the guide? lots of mandalorian language and culture is in there. Though they are clones, I think we should add them as quasi-mandalorians, because until spar's rise, they hold up the mandalorian dream.

Here a special tidbit for you all, transcripts and translations of the Mandalorian chants of the Republic Commando soundtrack ;-) (Note: can someone post a transcript of the shadows of the empire Taung lyrics and their translations?)
Note: Jango remade ancient Mandalorian chants for his Clone Army. He replaced "Mandalorian" with "Republic". Besides that, everything rocks fine!
