RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
New Essential Guide to weapons and technology:
=> All quotes from the Guide
Mandalorian Armour:
Defense Type: Protects wearer against Blaster Energy, Heat Energy, Cold Energy, Explosive, Piercing, Slashing and Poison attacks.
Protection: Entire Body
Manufacturer: Custom build by Mandalorian Warriors
Count Dooku: "Mandalorians wear the finest armour blood can buy."
Mandalirian. For centuries, this term has been synonymous with violence and death. In their earliest incarnation the Mandalorians were brutal mercenaries who won wars for the highest bidder. Over the time, they evolved into the supercommandos, cappable of toppling governments, destroying criminal cartels, and even challenging the Jedi Order.
Boba Fett maintains two full suits, one inherited by his father, the other custom build by himself, along with backup weapons and items that can be added for specific missions.
Mandalorian armor is a collection of blast-resistant duraplast armor plates attached to a waterproof, armor mesh flight suit. A liner shirt with a micro energy field projector and two layers of ceramic plates greatly improve protection around the back, chest and stomache. The careful layering of segmentes armor plates ensure mobility, which is further increased by the suits short-range jet pack.
Standart holsters can hold a variety of blasters and blaster rifles, but Boba heavily relies on concieled weapons. Fett's gauntlet alone hides a Czerka Zx miniature flame projector, a sonic beam weapon, a dart shooter, several blades of varying lenght and shape and a 20 meter long fibercord whip with a grappling hook. The gloves are also reinforced to increase damage caused by a single punch. The armors most powerful weapon is a miniature concussion rocket launcher built into the suits jet pack. The rocket launcher can fire antipersonnel, stun and antivehicle rockets and features a computer tracking system that interfaces directly with Boba's helmet. A larger jet pack can be equipped to carry more powerul warheads. Other weapons include rocket dart launchers concealed in the armors kneepads, retractable boot spikes and a BlastTech Dur-24 wrist laser with a range of up to 50 meters. Grenades, gas pellets, caltrops and other small weaopons can be carried in the belts utility pouches.
A range finder attached to the duraplast armored helmet can track up to thirty targets while a battle computer inside the helmet allows Boba to control the suits weapons, sensors and jetpack through verbal commands. The dark macrobinocular viewplate offers a variety of vision modes, including infrared. A pineal eye sensor on the helmet combines with an internal overlay display to provide tracking information withina 360° degree radius. Motion sensors, an encrypted internal comlink, and a broad-band antenna complete the helmet devices, all of which can be linked to his weapons or personal starship Slave I. An environmenta filter system with a two hour reserve tank allows Boba Fett to pursue quarry onto even the most inhospitable worlds.
Unmodified mandalorian armor has a chrome finish, but troops were known to paint their armour to identify units and rank. Boba Fett resurrected this tradition with his own armor suits.
=> That's everything from the Guide for ya. Impressive little collection Boba has.
ENJOY, more to come soon.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
I think it is a special alloy they make themselves, a mix of duraplast, ceramic, mandalorian iron and other stuff.
duraplast is just a general term for a hard material that is a mix between metal and plastic. the metal part may still be mandalorian iron^^

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Great stuff so far, CH and Reverend
I just gone thru the lyrics of the RC-Game soundtrack more times, and created a little lexicon. (if there is a "?" behind the translation, I'm not sure..)
a’den: "wrath, rage" (?)
darasuum: "eternal"
Dha Werda Verda: "The Warriors (of the) Shadow, The Warrior’s Shadow" - not real Mandalorian, just the Taung stuff^^
duum: "let all" (?)
nau: light
jetiise: "the Republic" (?)
kandosii "one, first, beginning" (?)
ka’rta "heart" - rather meant "spirit" or "soul"
kote: "glory" and "might"
kyr'am: "death" (also "the Death" as a person)
Taungsarang: "Taung-beasts"
tor: "justice" (?)
tracyn: "fire"
tracinya: "flame"
vod(e): "brother(s)" (singular:
vod
, plural:
vode
)
Hope this stuff is good enough so far...
And I may add, that Karen Traviss (author of Hard Contact) seems to be going to work out a whole "Mandalorian-Basic, Basic-Mandalorian"-dictionary... - only needs time, much time...

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - The Sith War #1 (of 6)
The Mandalorian Warriors, vicious crusaders, turn their attentions to the Empress Teta system. Fierce, proud, and unbeatable, the masked warrior clans of Mandalore attack the Tetan carbonite smelter aboard Basilisk War Droids - deadly, semi-intelligent assualt mounts bristling with weapons. Mandalore thinks to himself that his warriors need another crusade, and that the overstretched Empress Teta system will fall under the fist of Mandalore.
Two of the Basilisk War Droids also carry an atomic compression bomb, far superior to the weaponry used by the Krath.
The Mandalorian clans are soldiers of fortune far from their homeworld who have recently made a base in the ruined underground cities of the nearby Kuar system. Lost crusaders without a crusade, the Mandalorians fight because it is their way - not for power or wealth, but for personal honor.
Mandalore, the leader of the warrior clans, finds glory in destruction.
The Tetans, currently ruled by Ulic Qel-Droma and the Krath, are taken completely by surprise. Ulic: "Mandalore has not even made demands! What does he
want
from us?" Aleema, ruler of the Krath, responds: "He wants the seven worlds of Teta. He wants to conquer. I believe he feels a burning need even
he
doesn't understand." She also tells Ulic that Mandalore must know about him and his reputation, and that she imagines that Mandalore must fear him, as she does. She says the attack is just to grab Ulic's attention.
Ulic considers this, then orders the captain of his ship to contact Mandalore so that Ulic can give him the terms of the Mandalorian's surrender.
After contact is established Mandalore informs Ulic that he has indeed heard of him: "Yes, I
know
of you, Jedi carrion. Are you the champion that who will meet me on the field of honor to decide the fate of the seven Tetan jewels?"
At first Ulic tries to threaten Mandalore, telling him that if he doesn't surrender at once that Ulic's armies will rip him apart. Mandalore scoffs at Ulic's claims: "Your warriors still fight with
antiques
. My clans use only
advanced
weapons. What do you think will happen when you attack us? I'm offering you a chance to deal with me simply, with one stroke of your vaunted lightsaber. Meet me on my own world...on the plains of Harkul, where you and I will battle to the death."
Ulic accepts, with the condition that should he win that Mandalore and all of his warriors will serve him.
Later the two warriors meet in the Kuar system. Ulic permits Mandalore to define the rules of combat. The duel takes place on the open plains of Harkul. Mandalore's weapon of choice is his Basilisk War Droid, open-combat model, customized to Mandalore's personal specifications.
Mandalore has made other rules to throw the balance to himself. Qel-Droma is not permitted a mount, and he is not even permitted to stand on solid ground, but must instead keep to the ruined structures.
Ulic knows that if he wins he gains the allegiance of the combined armies of Teta and Mandalore.
The battle begins with Mandalore swooping in on his War Droid and opening fire. While Ulic's grasp of the force is great, Mandalore's skill in battle may be greater.
Regardless, Ulic handily disposes of Mandalore's War Droid in one swing of his lightsaber, sending the warrior plummeting into the ruins. Getting to his feet, Mandalore protests. Gesturing with his Mythosaur axe, he says: "You fight
unfairly
, Qel-Droma! Put away your bloodthirsty weapon... use
this
, the simple weapon of my forefathers."
Ulic agrees, saying: "I can defeat you,
regardless
of the weapon, Mandalore." However, as soon as Ulic turns off his blade, Mandalore launches himself at him. The assualt causes Ulic to fall back onto a Mandalorian warrior spectator whom Ulic relieves of his Mythosaur axe. He calls upon Mandalore to surrender, but Mandalore responds with: "A warrior knows nothing of surrender. The day
will
be mine, Jedi!"
The words are barely out of his mouth, however, when Ulic viciously attacks, sending Mandalore falling over the side of a cliff. At the bottom, a defeated Mandalore declares: "A glorious combat, Ulic Qel-Droma. I cede. My warriors are yours. Kill me."
However, Ulic has no interest in killing Mandalore, stating that he has a much better fate in mind for him.
With the Mandalorians on point, Ulic attacks the Republic shipyard at Foerost. Finally with a new crusade, the Mandalorian warriors are ruthless and implacable. They live for the savagery of a mercenary attack.
Striding into the command center, Ulic, Mandalore by his side, demands the operations codes of every newly completed warship. When a man claims they do not have the codes - that the Republic brings them the codes when they pick up the ships, Mandalore kills him, saying: "You lie. We
know
the codes are here. Who else can give them to us?" Promptly another man speaks up and says he'll give them the codes to stop the killing.
Then Ulic recieves a communciation from Exar Kun, his fellow Sith. When Mandalore interrupts the conversation to inform Ulic that he has the codes, the ships are theirs, and they can leave immediately for Coruscant, Exar throws a hissy, saying: "Fool! You'll jeopardize my whole plan!"
Mandalore responds: "I don't know who
you
are, but Ulic and I can handle Coruscant. The Mandalore clans are the
best
fighters in the galaxy... We don't need to wait for a few Jedi."

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
I have to say that "Mandalore the Indomitable", the Mandalore featured in
The Sith War
, is a total tool.
Firstly, going by the fight with Qel-Droma, he obviously has no concept of personal honor. Not only does he agree to Ulic's terms, which could have essentially enslaved the entire Mandalorian Warrior culture to the Sith for all time, but then, when it comes time for the combat, he's a total wuss who cries like a baby when Ulic comes at him with a lightsaber.
(It would be like Jango going "A lightsaber?! WAH! No fair!" when Obi-Wan comes at him in AOTC.)
The fact that this is after Mandalore has already dictated the rules of the fight to put Qel-Droma at a severe disadvantage only makes it more pathetic.
And
you can add to the list the fact that Mandalore actually flew his blaster covered War Droid close enough to Ulic to allow him to strike it with his lightsaber in the first place, about three seconds into the fight!
Mandalore the Indomitable - Easily the lamest Mandalore seen thus far in the history of the race.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
in TUF Mandalore Fett has trained several hand full of warriors, Han weeded out the unworthy. From that on he trained further troops. At the time of Balance Point Fett had around 12 Mandalorians, approximately by the count of ships lifting of Raxus Prime after Han weeded out the week ones. At the time of TUF Fett might have lots more, I believe up to 100 warriors with others in the making. He had enough years train them. 3 Years from P to TUF.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - The Sith War #2 (of 6)
A republic captain discovers a holorecording of Ulic Qel-Droma talking to Mandalore about their imminent attack against Kemplex Nine in the ruins of the Foerest shipyards. He immediately dispatches all ships to Kemplex Nine and reports what he has discovered to the Republic.
But Kemplex Nine was never the target, only a ruse to draw away Republic defenses, leaving Coruscant unguarded. Ulic and Mandalore strike the capital world of the Galactic Republic. Security forces deploy to stop them, but Coruscant defense teams have had little experience battling Mandalorian war-mounts.
Ulic's battle plan is to occupy the Republic War Room/Command Center and therefore crush the heart of the military command. Mandalore informs him that the advance teams have deployed and that they have caught Coruscant completely by surprise - just as Qel-Droma had said they would.
Ulic attacks the war room with Aleema's illusions, a group of Krath warriors, and a phalanx of Tetan ground troops. Meanwhile Mandalore leads 100 of his best soldiers against a weapons depot nearby where his spies have informed him that the Republic has new weapons in production.
The Mandalorians encounter the Jedi along the way, and their skirmish with them delays their arrival at the command center. Meanwhile Ulic's troops are meeting next to no opposition and cutting a swift path straight to that same command center. Communicating with Mandalore moments before beginning his final attack, Ulic learns that the Mandalorians are about to breach the weapons depot. He tells them to go ahead, but be prepared to pull out at his command.
In response Mandalore tells the charging Mandalorians to hurry it up, as they may have to leave. Moments later they have taken the depot, and Mandalore comes across a large blaster cannon type device. "This is the MX..." Mandalore says. "I heard about it. They're using ion flow as a power source. It'll clean off a quarter-deck in half a millisec. Take it!"
Meanwhile Qel-Droma takes the command center.. but Aleema sees the delayed Jedi forces approaching and seizes her chance. She communicates with Mandalore and tells him to pull back.
"Pull back?!" Mandalore says. "We haven't even-- Let me speak to Lord Ulic."
Aleema tells Mandalore that Ulic is dead, and the fleet is on its way to crush them. She says that she wants Mandalore to take Qel-Droma's place as her warlord.
"As you command." Mandalore says, and then to his soldiers: "Take what you can! We're pulling out!"
Meanwhile the Jedi arrive and capture Ulic Qel-Droma.

RE: The Official Mandalorian Reference Guide
Everything from KOTOR 1 was directly from the game itself. Unfortunately the script isn't in the strategy guide, so if I wanted Canderous' dialogue - including all of his monologues about Mandalorian history - I just had to hunker down, play the game, and then copy them from the in-game transcript.
And thus, much typing ensued... Much,
much
typing...
