I like to say it's immature.

I'm a long time SW fan and just starting to get into the EU. I just read Kevin Anderson's Essential Chronology and from that was able to identify some aspects that interested me most and went from there. Have so far read the Thrawn trilogy, Outbound Flight, Allegiance and Shadows of the Empire. Really enjoyed all of these and really interested to read here how others are progressing.

So I took the advice of everybody who said get the Legacy Comics, I got the first two TPB's, and I gotta say that they were really good. So good in fact that I pre-ordered Claws of the Dragon which I understand does not come out until June? That sucks, but I'm trying to get through I, Jedi until then...So far I think I actually like the JAT books better.

Okay, I've finally got a new question. Boba Fett: A Man with a Mission. I've passed it over a few times at the comic store. I've never been a Boba Fett guy (outside of him being my favorite action figure ) but I did enjoyed Open Seasons very much and I enjoyed the Jango Fett and Zam Wesel trades to an extent. So you could say I'm more into Jango and his Clone Wars influence than Boba and his Terminator like violence-fests. Course I loved Darth Maul and that was nothing but a murder-fest.
The reason I bring up Man with a Mission is that the issues came out while Empire was still printing. Are these one-shots as shallow as I'm thinking or is it worth collecting? Are the earlier DH Boba trades better or is it all worth skipping?

I haven't picked it up yet, as I've been more focused on collecting older stuff. I've heard that the stuff in it is fairly generic -- Boba goes somewhere, Boba kills people, next story -- but there's a story by Ostrander in there somewhere and it's something I'd like to get eventually. There are probably bigger fish to fry first, but I doubt it's horrible.

Yeah, somehow I knew that's what you were going to say, Havoc. And I think I'm of a very similar opinion. I too perked up with interest that Ostrander did one though.

I just finished reading Death Star, and I thought it was kind of good. Its sort of what a soap opera would be like if it took place on the most powerful battlestation ever constructed.

Hi, I need some advice. My summer Star Wars reading project is going to be to start the New Jedi Order series, starting with Vector Prime/Dark Tide - Onslaught/Dark Tide - Ruin 3 volume set.
What should I read in preparation for this ?

Well, what have you already read, if anything?

I've read the Thrawn Trilogy, Jedi Academy, the first four X-Wing Rogue Squadron Books, I, Jedi, Cloak of Deception and I am working on Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter right now.

I'd say you're pretty much set to go on to the NJO and beyond. Though it wouldn't hurt to read Rogue Planet, Specter of the Past/Vision of the Future, and the first 6 Young Jedi Knights books.

Yeah, I'd say read Rogue Planet and the Hand of Thrawn duology first. That's pretty much all you really need for the setup.

That's one of those "must buy" books that I er, haven't bought -yet! But I shall.Might wait and see if it goes into paperback.
I liked ,and still re-read, Steve Perrys "Shadows of the Empire".

Do buy it in paperback. It really isn't a "must buy". Death Star is my least favorite SW novel of all time. Leave it to Del Rey to finally print a decent sized hardcover full of nothing. I loved Shadows of the Empire. Who didn't? Top 5 SW books ever. Death Star is no Shadows of the Empire. It doesn't even touch Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter by Michael Reaves. But as a paperback you might get something out of it. For 9 bucks how can you lose?

I got into Star wars books about two years ago and have been reading them slowly. I need to know what to get next. Ive been lurking on these boards for a while now and have been all over wookipedia so I am fairly well versed in what is going on for a novice. I dont think I will be confused starting anywhere. Years ago I read SOTME and remember likeing it but dont remember it much. I have read TTT liked it a lot and read Outbound Flight enjoyed that also. Thrawn is awsome. I read Shadows of the Empire which was preaty good. I read the first two LOTF books and thought they were ok but I doubt I will finish the series. I read the rise of Darth Vader and liked the Vader stuff but not the Shrine stuff as much. I loved both of the Bane books. I read I Jedi and I know everyone loves that book but mehh. Im half eway through Shaterpoint right now and OMG best EU book yet. As for comics I read the first two Legacy TPBs and loved them. I read the first two KOTOR TPBs and didnt think they were as good as the hype. I liked the first Dark times TPB. So what next I seem to like the darker stuff and I am in no way willing to take on all the books in the NJO. Some kind of stand alone or triligy.
