Noh L Bravo posted:It is testament to the continued popularity and the extreme success of Noh L Bravo that he should have been in attendance at the premiere of ‘Squid Lake’ at the Galaxies Opera House on Coruscant. The man who was once described as ‘the sultan of sheev’ (Chrono magazine) would only see it as fitting that he would be invited to an occasion of such musical and artistic performance. As perhaps the galaxies most famous musician he is regularly sighted at societies hippest and most influential social gatherings. Bravo grew up amidst a privileged background on Naboo. The success and wealth of his family allowed him to attend the finest educational institutions that the galaxy had to offer. From the University of Naboo he quickly moved on to the University of Alderaan, where his precocious talent, along with a wicked temperament were first displayed. Expelled for ‘unconventional behaviour’ (the university offers nothing more, promising the strictest confidentiality for its students), he transferred to the University of Raltiir and then onto the Majestic Academy of Clak’Dor VII. It was in this crucible of musical ability that he refined his technique with his favourite instrument, the Shiv trumpet. His talent bred success, as he combined a fledgling business career in the corporate sector with his lead role in his first band the ‘Starburst surfers’. It was at this point that he changed his name to the flashy Bravo, adding the superfluous L in between. Further investigation has clouded the subject, revealing a number of possibilities as to his birth moniker. His triumph with the surfers only made him hungrier for further success. Feeling creatively restricted by the band, they split, allowing Bravo to expand his musical freedom. This freedom brought him both unrivalled popularity and critical acclaim. Over the next twenty years he pushed the boundaries of aural accomplishment, creating his own legend at the same time. He stuck primarily to the Shiv trumpet, dallying briefly with the Quetarra and the Lumino-tab following his break up with the surfers. Critics would argue that his finest work was his ‘Celeratio’, but Bravo never sought out critical praise, citing that the work was not his favourite. His fans would no doubt point to his contributions to the spheres of electrosynth, thunderbelt and psychozoo as his greatest accomplishment. However you cannot look further than his reg-runk album, ‘Raindrops of Drongar’, as the example of his galactic influence and fame. The album sold well into the trillions, and is burnt onto the neural cords of the many sentients who grew up during its release. Although Bravo’s music was only part of the mystique - flamboyant outfits, his luxury Sorosuub 1900 yacht, bevy of gorgeous females and outrageous behaviour at festivals only helped stoke the fervour surrounding his personality. As always though, Bravo was not immune to the perils of life in the space lane. His short-lived rocky marriage to Venda Bwin, the former senator of Sybaria, nearly ended his career along with hers. Allegations of a spiralling bota habit (said to have inspired the creation of the Drongar album) followed him during his early career, although have been less prevalent in recent years. And of course there is his confused and infamous role during the Nar Shadda embargo. Rescued by the Jedi Master Even Piell, Bravo still struggles to explain, and often refuses to answer, why he was on Nar Shadda, rather than receiving his Melodius award on Bimmisaari. However, these accusations have refused to dampen his star and he remains a celebrated galactic figure. Today Bravo chooses to use this celebrity to his own advantage, highlighting the issues that matter most to him. His homes on Moltok and Ithor have made his a passionate conservationist, leading to his unforgettable duet with Magda Glorious at Vine Relief. Bravo is also a vocal advocate against the Clone Wars, a thorn in the side of many senators, including Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. It was this opposition that prompted the renowned ‘Seven Days - Seven Stars’ tour. Bravo remains the only Republic musician to have ever played on the notoriously xenophobic Baran Doon, and to millions on the wastes of Dylgarra. At the height of his popularity, Buzz Download voted Bravo as “the most influential musician of the last eighty cycles”. As his own biographer put it “Bravo is set to become the most influential of the next eighty cycles too.”
