I don't suppose anyone has a copy of Adventure Journal 6 and could scan the Jandoon material? Pretty please?

Iahde Oicunn
Born on Talorus, Iahde Oicunn enrolled in the Republic Navy at a young age, in an attempt to escape the oppressive warlords who ruled his homeworld. Heading to the Core worlds, Oicunn trained under the distinguished Arhul Holt, at the famed Anaxes Citadel. As an officer aboard the light cruiser Rothery, Oicunn participated in countless peacekeeping tours, including the subjugation of the Yinchorri uprising, rounding up Zygerrian slavers operating off Delaluna, and liberating Talorus from the vicious Force-sensitive Taloron hunters.

An honourable and fair man, Oicunn was well liked by his fellow crew members, although they noted a disdain for Jedi and Force users, a result of his upbringing on Talorus. When the Clone Wars erupted, Oicunn made no effort to forge a bond with his Jedi Generals, instead preferring the company of his fellow soldiers, be they clone or otherwise. Although the
Rothery was lost at T’olan, decimated by heavy turbolaser fire, Oicunn escaped and was transferred to the newly-minted Adz-class cruiser Wither. Oicunn was present at many of the great fleet battles during the Clone Wars, including Dra III, Notak, Woostri, Praesitlyn and Seylott.

It was during the clash above the jungle world – an attempt to destroy a vital Separatist relay station buried in the dense foliage of Seylott – that the Jedi were declared traitors by the new Emperor. The two Jedi serving aboard the Wither, Yoshi Raph-Elan, and his Padawan Hanna Ding, attempted to hijack the cruiser in a desperate escape. Although they were able to fight their way to the bridge, Oicunn was waiting for them, managing to gun them down, thanks to a surprising display of ability and a flechette launcher.

Recognised by the Emperor himself for this display of bravery, Oicunn was promoted to a position aboard the Imperial flagship, the
Wennis, named for a long-dead Sith Lord. After fifteen years of loyal service to the Empire, Oicunn quietly retired to out-of-the-way Telos, a content and happy man.

Pablo: " I never bought that the Brizzit were native to Jandoon. Adventure Journal #6 listed no native species for the planet, and the card only really stated that that one Brizzit came from Jandoon. The writer of that card's text, George Strayton, explained to me that that card was originally going to be a completely different character, but Decipher assigned the fly character to that card's text. That is, he never intended to make a direct connection between Brizzits and Jandoon. It was just a character's homeworld.

I believe a subsquent source, either Behind the Magic or the Encyclopedia jumped to the erroneous conclusion that all Brizzit come from Jandoon, making it fact.

It may all be irrelevant though. After all, the more interesting story may be about this one character, and not his species. "

Nice story, Tam. But the Adz was designed a few years later:

CUSWE posted:
this Imperial starship design was used as a patrol ship in many outlying regions, and was developed after the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Man, nice refs! applause A bajillion Valin Points™ wink to you for including Yoshi Raph-Elan and the Wennis. I've been itching to work in the Wennis at some point--the difficulty is that IIRC it's said to be like seven decades old. Thus it can't be an Acclamator, Venator, or VicStar. I theorize it's one of Saxton's Procurator- or Mandator-class thingummies from the older Kuat starfleet.

I suggest the smartest tactic would be to develop a story where it wouldn't matter either way. Or at the very least, wasn't entirely dependent on it. As some have experienced, minor details of submissions have been altered in the past if the overall story was worth preserving.

It'll definitely be interesting to see what comes of it. This is the kind of judgment call source authors have to make all the time.

I'd hate to suggest restrictions for anybody, because someone may have a killer story that takes into account all these sources and makes it work. And, conversely, I'd hate for anyone to think that all these threads have to be tied up in their story. You know what I mean? From my point of view, I'd rather encourage anyone to tell a cool story.

Sorry if that sounds wishy washy...

Originally I wasn't so sure about doing a character where so much is already established (some of it contradictory), but I took it as a personal challenge tongue and created a reasonably coherent Brizzit/Jandoon backstory. I wrote that the Brizzits were native to Jandoon, developed an advanced civilization, and then got wiped out, with their numbers dwindling until at present there's under 1000 remaining. (Thereby explaining Tzizvvt, and the ruins, and the perception the planet was abandoned.)

My only problem is that just the straight-up species backstory is over 2000 characters all by itself. sad

Though it sounds like I may be as well off cutting it entirely....

Hmmmm....
