The new one is explain the Wol Cabbashite species. (those wierd parasites seen in Jabba's Palace that provided a Jedi Master (!))

Anyway, here was my (rather contrived) entry for the female Jedi.

The Jedi Purge cut tragically short many promising Jedi careers, but none such much as the young Jedi Kendalina al-Serith.

Kendalina was born in the year 40 BBY, on the ancient Core World of Humbarine, and part of a distinguished family of noble lineage. Had she not been given to the Jedi Order, Kendalina would have born the title "Princess" once she came of age, but the Jedi shunned such trappings, preferring to practice humility in both thought and deed.

She was a shy, and self conscious as a child, and progressed slowly as a youngling, despite her obvious talents. Eventually, at the age of twelve, she was apprenticed to the Cerean Jedi Master Sen Udo-Mal.

During their partnership, they undertook many missions for the Republic. In 26 BBY they were part of one of the first, unsuccessful attempts to mediate an end to the Sepan Civil War and they would later uncover and eliminate a Sith-inspired cult on the isolated world of Zaloriis.

In 22 BBY, they were among the rescue workers who discovered the infant Aris Del Wari on Ord Thoden.

In the Clone Wars, Udo-Mal, true to his oath, became a General and Kendalina served as his Lieutenant.
The pair led clonetroopers on fronts as diverse as Ord Canfre, Atraken and Kabal.

Then, disaster struck. The pair were caught on the world of Duro as it was attacked by General Grievous.
Sen Udo-Mal fought to the end, dying in battle as thousands of separatist troops overwhelmed him.
Grievous took his saber as a trophy and Kendalina fell into the not-so-tender mercies of the Separatist butcher.

Surprisingly, the Kaleesh general did not kill her, not immediately at least. He wanted her to watch what he had planned next. And so Kendalina was forced to watch as Grievous destroyed her homeworld of Humbarine. Nearly the entire population of the world was eliminated, including her family.

Grievous, his twisted sense of humor satisfied, stripped the padawan of her lightsaber and then, rather than killing her, "sent her home" - placing her in an escape pod which would take her to the surface of her ruined homeworld.

Racked with despair, Kendalina would walk upon the ruined surface of Humbarine for days before a Jedi team, sent by the Republic to look for survivors, found her and brought her back to Coruscant. She would be present during General Kenobi's briefing on the Outer Rim Sieges.

Remarkably, Kendalina survived Order 66, fleeing the Temple as it was under assault from clonetroopers and Darth Vader. She drifted for years, eventually ending up as a nurse in an Imperial installation on Kessel. There, she formed a relationship with an inmate, who had been nicknamed "Triclops" by his cruel wardens.

The pair had a son, whom Kendalina named Kenth (but who was always known as Ken) but Kendalina died shortly after her son's birth.

Apart from the (rather obvious) GoDV ref, I've got the Cerean Jedi Master from the Wizards Core RPG book, some holonetnews references, a planet from Galactic Battlegrounds, a link to Humbarine from the ROTS crosssections, the fall of Duro to Grievous and a rather ham-fisted attempt to explain why Palpy's "son" had such a silly name.

Oh, and a shameless attempt to link Ken and Kenth Hamner...(if only they gave me more room!) mischief

LOL- I love this new entry because ever since I've spotted that thing I've wondered what the hell it was, haha.

QG- how did you get all of that submitted? Isn't that a few hundred characters over the limit?

Sweet!

Remember that the SWTC has some nice pics and info on Wol Cabasshites, since that may come in handy. And remember that one was a Jedi Master, referenced in the Databank and NEGtC, IIRC.

happy

confused Ummm ... at the expense of sounding like a moron, I don't understand what you are trying to get at. Are you suggesting Kenth Hamner = Ken? thinking

Chio-Quem Inod

Like her Master, Coleman Trebor, Chio-Quem Inod of Ralltiir was considered more diplomat than warrior, but she was capable in combat when circumstances forced her hand. As a Knight, she was known among the Jedi as a wise philosopher and seer. In peacetime she had been a roving consular and arbitrator; after Geonosis she was recalled to Coruscant and sent off to make war.

Inod was also a student of the Jedi Battle Meditation. This ancient technique was used to coordinate allies and boost their morale while confounding the enemy’s will to fight. True masters of it could even direct whole armies and fleets to act in unison. Made famous by legendary Jedi of old, this skill had somewhat fallen into disuse, but during the Clone Wars it helped many Jedi maximize the efficiency of the troops under their command and frequently granted a Loyalist victory in the face of preposterous odds.

20 months A.B.G., General Inod took command of the Acclamator "Blotus" and led Clone Commander Tau and his 19th Legion to waylay in deep space a CIS convoy of heavy container ships that had departed from factories on Noopia carrying millions of battle droids each. Using the Force she helped the gunners disable the ships’ drives with surgical volleys. Then an all-out shelling strewed the droids--many still folded in storage mode--across billions of cubic kilometers, leaving the 10352-F Shipping Lane a navigation hazard until competing Squibs and Ugors finished picking the area clean 11 years later.

When Grievous’ hammerstroke fell on Coruscant, Inod received the recall signal, but by the time the Blotus arrived the climactic struggle had already been won. Soon after, she attended an Outer Rim Sieges briefing by General Kenobi.

Inod’s next mission was to take the 19th to free the planet Briznac from CIS occupation. The Blotus was still in hyperspace transit when Order 66 came through; Tau and his clones entered Inod’s cabin and killed her while she was in a meditation trance.

NOTES:

--Jedi Battle Meditation is from Tales of the Jedi and one recent issue of Republic. I also hinted at an explanation for why we haven't seen it much in the prequels, besides that one Republic and a few references in the guidebooks. And see how I managed to turn that into not one, but two explanations of hideous droid losses to clones? wink shhh

--The Blotus is named after an ancient Hutt Chancellor of the Republic, from the New Essential Chronology.

--Briznac is the name I gave the Brizzit homeworld in my Tzizvvt entry. In the extremely unlikely event both stories are chosen, I'll have made a neat connection between them. Otherwise, it just becomes some other planet.

I see. happy

On to Wol Cabbasshite....

I've been clamoring for a species entry, so I suppose I shouldn't complain. But I'd have been quite happy if this hideous critter never saw the light of day again. shock Eeeeeewww. sick First I'll have to overcome my own revulsion reflex before I can write anything. cry

I wonder how gruesome they'll let us go. I've already got some Aliens-type possibilities dancing in my head, but it's SW after all so I'm wondering how far they'll let us push it.

And I know our entry is not supposed to be about individuals, but I feel obligated to try to explain how any of these could ever have become Jedi. confused

Well, they're sentient, so its possible...

And the Wol C. Jedi Master was the one that negotiated the Treaty of Trammis, according to the NEC. Can't remember his name right now, though.

Anyone want to connect them with Crokes? thinking tongue

Has there been a physical description or depiction of that Jedi Master? Such as, oh, lets say, perhaps he was attached to another creature?

Not as far as I know. The first place Omo appeared was in Saesee's Databank entry. And that's not a recent addition, he's been in there for several years, even pre-AOTC I think.

The SW Wiki also mentions he's in the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook, although I'd bet that was only in Saesee's entry. Somebody with a copy want to look that up?

(Interestingly, the Wiki article also mentions that "After Bouri's death 42 BBY, Tiin spent much of the next twenty years attempting to contact the spirit of his departed Master through the Force, but was never successful." I think I remember this from an earlier revision of the Databank entry, and apparently this was cut due to AOTC/ROTS influence.)

I was thinking the exact same thing. Facehugger ... Goa'uld ... Trill ... pick your analogy.

However I'm having a bit of difficulty reconciling a parasitic lifestyle with the whole Jedi "respect for life" thing. thinking Unless I go in the Trill-style symbiosis direction.....

IIRC correctly, the statement about Tiin trying to contact Bouri's spirit never appeared in the databank, only in the Power of the Jedi sourcebook. (And in Tiin's entry in the NEGTC).

What we know about Omo Bouri:

- Saesee Tin's master
- Negotiated the treaty of Trammis
- Died in 42 BBY.
- Tiin tried to contact his spirit but never succeeded.

What we know about the ROTJ Wol Cabbashite

- Tried to lick C3PO

I'm actually thinking along the lines of Sith alchemy here, perhaps the Sith tried to engineer an intelligent evil parasite to attack the Jedi/Republic and the Jedi managed to "turn" some of them to the light.

Allrighty ... in any event, it was canon, not just Wiki fanon.

Ooh ... now that's a good idea. I was thinking maybe Arkanian genetic engineering, but yours is better.
