It seems he also used to be in contact with Saxton, cause he's mentioned in the TechComm as suggesting info on some of the DE ships, and other such stuff. Credited here.

Also looking through the SWTC Updates history, I found this humorous:

Minor updates to the comments about the controversial Vector Prime map, after argument with D.Wallace

This just occurred to me at the blog, but I'll repeat it here: what of Kaleesh art? Is there any? Could Thrawn "read" it?

I would consider the bone masks that Grievy used to wear a form of art. They would at least give insight into the culture, if not the individual.

I just had a really cool mental image of Thrawn holding Grievous' mask up and studying it. That would make for some cool fan art; too bad I can't draw.

Needs to be done, I agree.

Oh Abel...any chance of getting your minions to doodle up a drawing such as this? batting

I'm not exactly a minion, but I might be able to come up with something, eventually. His droid body mask, or the original bone one?

And do you want it Hamlet-with-the-skull style?

happy

Go for it, Rogue!

Personally, I'd say just the mask, but "act on instinct." grin

Take care,
Abel

Way ahead of you. wink

Here's my pencils:

I decided to go with the holo approach, since Thrawn seems to like those. Also, that gave me the opportunity to make the mask larger, and more detailed.

Its no Corroney, however, and it still needs work. I might digitally clean and color it later.

happy

I think it'd be even better if he was holding the physical mask, with little damage to it (for artistic purposes) and studying it intently.

That was one of my earliest thoughts, but I couldn't find a pose that would show both Thrawn and the mask well enough, so I went for the holo approach. Had I more time, I would probably have experimented more and found a way to fit in the physical mask.

My wishlist of stuff that I didn't do:

-put Thrawn on the left, and the mask on the right, so that the reader's eye (which tends to move from left to right) follow's Thrawn's arm and eyes to the mask, making it the focal point more.

-put other images of Grievy in the background, possibly including concept art and all the different comic/cartoon/other versions of him, to show the variations of his mask design.

-include Grievous's insignia in another piece of art in the background

-detail Thrawn more, giving him his TIE Fighter epaulets and rank badge, rather than leave his uniform blank like the TLC comic adaptation and the CCG card do.

Thrawn is so love . Hmm, I like him holding a holoimage - it'd be pretty unlikely for him to come across the real mask, right?

It makes me want to write a fic about Thrawn getting a hold of the bone mask.

*leaves thread before plot bunnies take over*

I'm going to borrow that particular plot bunny, if you don't mind.
