Well I'll be frinked. Finally a detailed biography on the origins of this being. I wonder if he had a first name, seeing how General just wouldn't work out for a kid's name. wink
I've given him one. In fact, there's quite a bit of new information on Grievous' pre-cyborg background. It's up to the editors now.

Take care,
Abel

Hey Mr. Pena, long time no talkies happy .

I'm a big Grievous fan so I'm really looking forward to this one. I had to pick up the last few issues of Insider at the local Barnes and Noble when my Hyperspace ran out, but this is the last little push I needed to move resubscribing to the top of my priorities.

I don't suppose you happen to nail down in the article exactly when the conflict between The Kaleesh and the Huk (I think those names are correct) took place? I've been wanting to know that since Labyrinth of Evil was first released.

As always, thanks for taking the time to come here and chat with us.

I hope the article has a timeframe from Grievous' accident and him turning into a cyborg!!! And a first name, wow (now I have to update all Grievous' entries in my timeline!!!)

From Abel's blog:

The Story of General Grievous is an origin piece. It will go into the whole Sifo-Dyas blood transfusion as well as the Huk War

Yeah!!!!

My pleasure. happy

There'll be some clarification about the Huk War that should help nail it down, but no concrete dates this time.

Take care,
Abel

Again, only vaguely. I was so busy trying to iron out the conflicts between Labyrinth of Evil and Visionaries, that I only had time to set up basic timeframes.

That said, however, there should be a good amount of new info on the general.

Take care,
Abel

So Abel, did you work in any pre-PT references (from like, say WEG or other older sources) dealing with Grievy?

Was Grievous his real name, a translation of his name, or just a pseudonym he picked up?

At this point, it almost goes without saying, doesn't it? wink

But yes, I definitely did. Assuming they make it past approvals, references to Marvel, Star Wars Galaxy Magazine, and some WEG stuff are among the old school sources.

Unfortunately, that would be giving away too much.

I always imagined the Huks as being like Uruk-hai, despite them being described as insectile.

Instead of purchasing the issue from the counter so you can pay Abel's salary for this great work? He deserves better. wink

Well, I would love too, but we in the Netherlands are not in the opportunity to buy it off the shelves!!! According to licensee-holders, we in the Netherlands are 'blessed' with the UK's Star Wars Magazine (which I also happen to collect and I am sure is to reprint the article). I hope TFAW will carry the issue, but since they did not carry # 83, my hopes are low for that...

Being a non-USian books/magazine collector is not always fun (I payed $ 67 for the Paizo-IDG transition issue of Insider...)
