Exactly. Often time it's enough just to suggest at the possibilities, and other folks, whether readers or writers, will fill in the gaps.

I know she'd been "enhanced" previously, but in the bacta tank after her TIE got shot up, she looked as though only her lower legs were maybe lost beyond repair... does Marvel ever say how much she was cyborged, and how much it was just armour?
It's never quite clear. She seems intact from the pectorales up in her last duel with Luke.

Thrawn McEwok posted:
Or did Vader do more to her than was strictly necessary?
He did something similar with Tremayne. Of course, that was to take him down a notch.

However, Atha Prime's connection with Trachta in SWFF was discussed by TalonCard and Leto II on 20th June here, somehwat earlier than the earliest reference to it that I can find from you, on 8th July, here...
Actually, I believe I mentioned the possibility as far back as the Fact Files thread, and it might've been converted into "fact" since then.

But ironically I just got my hands on a set of Fact Files myself, and after a cursory look, Atha Prime does not seem to be anywhere in sight. Pity. But all hope is not lost. Just delayed.

Granted that's fanart, but I'm just curious... do Kaleesh really have little fin things on the sides of their heads? The Kaleesh from the NEG to Aliens (Great-Granny Grievous, I hear?) seems to have feathers or something on her head, but they could pass as fins I suppose... which I guess follow along with the fins on Grievy's mask.
Not actually sure what the final design's going to be. This fanart looks a little fishy, though...

Take care,

Just bought the magazine today. Probably one of the best issues of SW Insider yet. The Grievous article from what i've read is really amazing.
This issue was pretty action packed, especially if you're also a Mando fan. Karen's articles are a lot of fun.

So what particularly did you like about Unknown Soldier, The_Mandalorian_?

And now that we're all warm and fuzzy, here's a question: what wasn't in the Story of General Grievous pieces that you folks really would've liked to have seen?

Another question: how did you guys feel about the length of Unknown Soldier? Too long, too short, just right?

Best,
Abel

I think the length was just about right, so far as being about Grievous himself goes. Details like the Necrosis reference left me wanting more, but Lord of War filled that in quite well.

Hmmmm... thinking I don't believe there was anything about Qymaen/Grievous's life that wasn't touched upon in the Story of General Grievous at least once. All I can think of would be more details concerning certain events. For instance, I would have liked to have known more about Qymaen's relationship with the Izvoshra, since their deaths were so tragic. Personally I would have also liked to have seen more of San Hill, since I'm not entirely convinced he really got anything out of giving Grievous to Dooku (the lack of Grievous at the Battle of Muunilist seemed to be a good example of this). I'm also curious about the battles Grievous actually won in the Wars, since the EU does a good job of revealing his many failures.

Of course, the only way any of this could be explained would be if Unknown Soldier were longer... which you probably knew I was going to say anyway. wink

I really loved the article, and I thought the length was pretty much just right. I thought Abel did a good job of divulging new details about Grievous' past and tying them together with elements from other sources. I also loved the Necrosis info in Lord of War love happy . Though I was pleased with the article's content, if I had to pick areas I would like to see expanded I would definitely choose the Izvoshra (these guys are very intriguing to me). Overall though, it was a great article and I can't wait for the endnotes!

Had to go to a book store to read this Insider...

Very nice! happy

I must say that that making Bridger's weapon a San-Ni staff is *exactly* what my first thought was when I first read about him in Dan Wallace's blog entry on the Clone Wars Sourcebook. And I liked how you made the cyborg Jedi (whose name escapes me right now...) in Grievous a Coway... precisely my impression of his species.

I wanted to know about Grievous' persoonal life with family and friends and ....if they had any....primal urges after reconstruction wink
What was the age gap between Qymaen and Ronderu when they met?
How old was Qymaen when Ronderu died?
How old were they when the shuttle was sabotaged?
Did Grievous' great grandmother have multiple husbands? And any chance of cybernetic implants on grandma? If it were okay to get kisses(or equivelant) from your great grandmother XD
And if Grievous liked flaunting it. Because.....they were so proud of their droid body and all.
As for the Mandolorians.....boob armor or not...I like their ideals.

PS- N-K Necrosis' reasoning they were better than the original kind of echoes Le Portrait De Petite Cossette, where the version of a young girl a painter created though their painting thought themselves superior to the original, whom the artist murdered when she started to age. So the fake Cossette(the girl) is all like "Love me instead! I'm mankind's greatest treasure!" to the reincarnation of the artist.

And the first lines of the subtitled version of the series fits Grievous in a way well too(disregarding the pronouns used)

"..If someone were to drown in the seas and die for my sake, then I would be released from stone and I would return to life...to life once more. But if I were to return to life one day...which would give me the most important thing, I would then cry, alone...of what use would my blood be, even if it were to ripen like wine? For it would not be able to bring back the one who loved me the most from the waters' depths."

....I ramble on X_X

Grievous' tri-winged shuttle, as seen in the Clone Wars cartoon, and the shuttle seen in Visionaries.

They might be making the Tri-Wing Shuttle a What's the story, and that's why Halagad couldn't do anything with it.

Actually Rogue, I believe the cyborg Jedi in question, B'dard Tone, had already been established as a Coway previously (I think I read it somewhere in the New Essential Chronology). I could be wrong though...

I would have loved to have done more artwork for the feature. I maybe could have squeezed in one more illustration if I had time but what it really boils down to usually with each project is budget (i.e. amount of time and work I realistically have to balance with what Insider is able to pay me), layout space in the feature for the artwork and the final deadline. Hopefully with "Vader's Legacy" I can do even more for that one.
