Sweeeeeet.
Good job, Abel. As always.
I especially appreciate the fact that you tell us where all those little, overlooked EU references come from... I mean, some of us aren't as sourcebook/RPG-savvy as you or Rogue_Follower over there.

I wouldn't put myself that high up on the Sourcebook Savvy Scale. A trick memory, I'm afraid...

Found it:
"Only one Confederacy general held more sway than Grevious during the war's first month-the Chiss Force user Sev'rance Taan." Page 55 of the NEC. Doesn't say she was originally the Supreme Commander. Don't see a reason why she couldn't be though. Grand Admiral Raeder was head of the German Navy in WWII before Grand Admiral Doenitz replaced him. Why couldn't the Confederacy replace its Supreme Commander?

Super_Battle_Droid posted: And now that we're all warm and fuzzy, here's a question: what wasn't in the Story of General Grievous pieces that you folks really would've liked to have seen?
The complete list of all the Jedi Grievous killed.
Tell us that list now and everything will be cool. (just kidding)
I've gotta leave some fun for other authors.
Super_Battle_Droid posted: Though I would've like to have seen more art, no offense Joe, I just love your art man!
I always like seeing more of Joe's art. We talked about having Grievous fight an Iron Knight in one of the illos, as well as Qymaen's pilgrimage to Absesmi, but there just wasn't enough room or time.
Super_Battle_Droid posted: I miss seeing it in Holonet News.
Would you like to see that? Joe, Dan, and I pitched a continuation of HoloNet News with Galaxywide NewsNets, so if you're interested, definitely let the folks at Insider know!
WhillJedi posted: Actually Rogue, I believe the cyborg Jedi in question, B'dard Tone, had already been established as a Coway previously (I think I read it somewhere in the New Essential Chronology). I could be wrong though...
You're right. I lifted that from the New Chron.
Rogue_Follower posted: Actually, Halagad was pretty decrepit (and was wearing Palpy-class robes) when the heroes find him in Domain of Evil, IIRC...
Arf_Maul from Wookieepedia sent me a really cool link with all the available illustrations of Halagad. Check it out here.

Eyrezer posted: Hey Abel, do you read fanfic?
I think thems covered by the "Dont ask, Dont Tell" policy...
Basically. It's an unfortunate situation, but I'm also very busy these days. It's difficult just to keep up with the plethora of SW lit that's coming out while still exploring other interests.
Eyrezer posted: I know the policy for the novel authors, but wondered if it was different for the freelance, or now retainer authors.
There's maybe a little more leeway technically, but by the same token a little guy like me without a few SW novels under his belt is actually more likely to have to watch his toes. Less "star power."
Eyrezer posted: Oh and Abel, very cool naming for Sageon and Bridger! Very subtle. Just noticed your comment on Dan's blog.
That was a little coup for me and a bit of closure. There's actually more history behind the name that I'll be going into in the next installment of Grievous endnotes.

So you think some other authors will spill the beans some? I'm hoping some might be mentioned in the New Essential Guide to Aliens in the Kaleesh article, can't wait for that book, and article.

"In return, I will turn you into an eggplant."<<

It's actually a line I saw in a screenshot for the GCN game Chibi-Robo. The main robot character you play as is talking to some kind of eggplant man, who is saying that line. It pretty much sums up the games extremely strange sense of humor and was definitely sig-worthy

I have heard that he calls her his finest General in-game to Sidious too. I'm trying to find someone with the game to get a quote of that for Wookieepedia.
Though Sev'rance seems to be more an infantry sort than given to fleet battles. There's a character that needs more backstory, especially since we now know that Chiss are not normally Force-sensitive. Aggressive Chiss ex-military, too. If there's not a connection to Thrawn there I'd be very surprised.

I agree completely, she could be. For now, I like the fact that pompous Grievous' pompous has the supercilious title Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army.

Yeah, I actually thought it was reference to Kid Icarus at first, Metroid's neglected sibling.
Take care,
