It appears that the old thread has been decommissioned. Good times.
Unless there is a cloaked replacement, I suggest we continue. The last topic was the Adventure Journals.
Was the file on the Kaloth from an Adventure Journal? I think it was one of the "Wanted by Cracken" sections, but I have no idea which AJ it was in.

Whoo, first post! YAY!
As for the Kaloth, I have no access to the AJs so I have no idea.

The Unofficial Encyclopedia says Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim for the Kaloth... with a surprisingly heavy armament of 44 turbolaser batteries...

I doubt its legitimacy. That's a whopping amount of guns for a mere 300m ship. Why, its entire hull would be covered in guns. And yet I, Jedi says it has enough teeth to brawl with an Escort Frigate, 70 does seem overgunned.
Strange things happen in SW. Like COPL saying how powerful Battle Dragons are, from their rapid firing, then suddenly EGVV and then subsequently Jedi Eclipse saying their recharge rate is slow. A contradiction.

What, you mean this old thing? Yeah it was in GG9. Feel free to ask for any more pics...I have all of the RPG books 'cept 4 AJ's...and I'm getting them soon too.
EDIT: And in reply to Excellence...the rate or fire for each Turbolaser was slow (I think Cracken's Threat Dossier said it was only 1/3 the fire rate of regular Turbolasers), but seeing as they were mounted on a 'roatating ring' that spun them all round the ship, as soon as one fired, another would swing into its place and be able to fire again right away, hence it having a "fast fire rate".

But only subsequent books like EGVV and Jedi Eclipse said that. They were fine in COPL.
Hey, just realised the thread says Fleet Junkie-class.

Does it come with a cloaking shield?
The Kaloth is a KDY make, right?

No cloaking shield is mentioned in what little text there is about it...neither does it say who manufactured it...but I don't think it'd be KDY myself...just...doesn't have a KDY sorta feel to the design. Anyhow, here is all the descriptive text avaliable in the entire book.

According to that link's text, the Thalassians' Kaloth is modified. They up-gunned it. The standard Kaloth, as I, Jedi said, is most likely an Escort Frigate equivalent, as the book did indeed say.

S'why it says "modified archaic battlecruiser" in the stats :P But yeah something that old would never have been that powerful originally. Nice to see how much you can upgrade an old thing like that though.

Modified Kaloths can, it seems, be pretty effective - the pirate command ship, making strafing runs with gunships in a tight shield-overlap formation, caused some irritation to Chimaera in SotP... and that was seen as a credible Corellian Defence Force formation... but she did lack proper particle shields, and was pasted in a moment when the right tactic was applied...
I suspect that the Harmzuay was simply less well-modified...
But the WEG illustration, by only showing the bows in plan, keeps alive my 'fix' that the Kaloth has a very, very broad hull, wider than she is long; I don't see any reason why her seemingly stupidly heavy and cramped TL armament shouldn't be original...

No offense guys, but don't you think that we should create a thread with a similar name to the previous one? Not only that, but maybe have a little introduction that explains what we have been doing the last few years and have a link to the previous thread?
I don't mean to sound rude to AdmiralWesJanson, but I just am just not crazy about the threads title and how it got started.
Am I alone in this?

I have to agree with Nick, actually
But was there an actual reason for the decomissioning of the last one?
