I like "Mark II" bit in the title (versus simply "2.0"), and it does go with AWJ's ship name theme.
Still, if you guys want the title changed to something closer to the original thread, might I suggest removing the "New Republic" portion, since it's expanded obviously to include all capital ships?

Well, I just think that we should use this thread to put together a good opening post for the eventual "official" new home for the Fleet Junkies. I commend AdmiralWesJanson for his quick action, but I feel that we all should have some input in the new threads name. Furthermore, it is imperative that the opening post have a nice little summary of what we have accomplished, our history, and stuff of that nature.
I know that only a few of the original batch of Fleet Junkies like myself still post, but I would like to see the next version of this thread connected in a greater way with the original one.
I agree with The2ndQuest that out title is a bit outdated. For example, I have noticed that many of the boards posters simply refer to us as "The Capital Ship Thread". I think that some variation of this should be used in our new title. The term "Fleet Junkie" should be in the new title as well.
We need to work this stuff out before we start our official home. A thread that has risen to the level of our old home needs to have a better start then just a few sentence long opening.

No need to wait for a PM. Join in the discussion and conversation here. I think that if all of us who regularly posted in the old thread pooled our ideas that we could create a great name and opening post for the new thread. 
Heck, if anyone has any good ideas for an opening post, feel free to put the here. If we all stick out heads together we can come up with something that will be the perfect introduction to our new thread.

Strange things happen in SW. Like COPL saying how powerful Battle Dragons are, from their rapid firing, then suddenly EGVV and then subsequently Jedi Eclipse saying their recharge rate is slow. A contradiction.
Excellence, i think i can supply you with an answer to your Battle Dragons conundrum.
The Hapan recharge rates were very very slow. their compensation for that involved putting their guns on rotating belts that would move after every shot to give the guns proper time to recharge.
More on this in the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels( the original one not the new one).

The Eclipse
In construction for almost as long as either Death Star, the Eclipse is a massive capital ship orbiting the planet Byss. Almost unimaginable in length and unparalleled in firepower, the Eclipse is the largest Star Destroyer ever built, dwarfing the Super Star Destroyers and bearing within its arsenal a superlaser capable of cracking the crust of most planets. The interior of the Eclipse resembles the interior of a Star Destroyer, but also contains docking bays and repair facilities like those found on space platforms. An orbital battlestation in its own right, meetings between the Grand Admirals and other important business of the Imperial Navy take place in one of the many war rooms aboard the massive capital ship. The Eclipse is a permanent fixture in the skies above Byss, an imposing visage and display of the Imperial Navy's might. This was put online in April, but I'm throwing it up here now because of the statement that these ships were "In construction for almost as long as either Death Star"...
Given the way things look to be shaping up for the Death Stars...
... is it far too cheeky for me to cut the Gordian knot, and suggest that the Eclipse-class Star Destroyers are actually the Mandator-II Star Dreadnaughts?
