Targets! dancing

I love bonus stuff with my books. I refuse to pay 7 bucks for an entire issue of insider just for one good article or short story.

Targets is an interesting story, and the introduction to Captain Ordo should not be missed. But do you guys like omega or delta squad better?

^It is somewhat odd. The Omegas are going to be in the book. Atin was in Targets. 2 plus 2 is four. Yes he is.

I'm inclined to agree. But I'm really actually quite glad for the respite - we really have been loaded to the brim with Clone Wars stories over the last four years, and it'll be nice to have a break from it, then come back to it. Interestingly, the way they told it, it kind of feels (in retrospect) like something that was happening in real-time, and that has actually ended now... odd. The NJO was supposed to capture that, and it may have, but I was younger at the time and wasn't following them as deeply - but more importantly, there was a lot more going on at a given point in the Clone Wars, between the cartoons, the comics, the books, and the games. It's just a lot more filled out, and they did it a lot faster. Interesting...

True. I agree that we need to pull back and get perspective before anyone re-tackles the Clone Wars. The most interesting thing is whether the same will be done with the NJO -- because uniquely, it isn't just a time period, it's a novel series, and wedging new books, or even comics, inside the series would be odd. It would end up being like "Thrawn Trilogy book 1.5: The Lost Campaigns" by Mike Stackpole -- it'd just be freaky. But kind of cool at the same time. thinking

Yes - unless or until KT gets contracted to write another one of these, which is possible, depending on how well this one sells. I've a feeling it'll probably do pretty well, and she's said she'd be more than willing to write the Star Wars: Republic Commando: Order 66 novel if given the chance... tongue Seriously, though, I think that final novel of the RC's would be the only other possible Clone Wars story we'd get besides the show. A pity, in some ways, as I think there's still material to be explored, but at the same time I think we're definitely suffering from Clone Wars fatigue after the last four years.

There's Clone Wars Adventures vol.5 aswell...

True; I'd forgotten about that, since I haven't picked up any of the Clone Wars Adventures. Not my style, really, especially as I'm only just getting into comics as it is. thinking

Believe it or not, those Adventure books are pretty good, and are part of continuity. Check the Dark Horse Comic Companion and see for yourself. I wonder though, is there going to be a six book in that series?

Oh, I don't doubt they're good stories, and I'm well aware they're part of continuity. It's simply not my artistic style as much, and if I have money to spend on comics, it's going to go to KotOR and possibly LEGACY.

QM: yep. As in, the first comic book I ever bought, short of some odd thing I was given about Donald Duck - well over a decade ago - was KotOR #1. worried

It just seems kind of funny. I mean, I can quote ad nauseum character bios for virtually everyone who's ever appeared in Marvel comics, though I don't buy many, but I've only recently managed to acquire a few Star Wars books, unlike you, whom I'd been forced to conclude had read every issue of Republic, Empire, Tales and whatnot in existence. tongue

raised_brow Whatever gave you that impression, ner vod? *blinks confusedly* confused Very odd...

No, I've only just started going through the comics in the last year - I started with the original KotOR TPB's, got ahold of the audio dramatization of some of the latter parts, etc. I picked up and read Clone Wars 1-4, though I've yet to have a chance to read 5-8 (obviously, the lattermost being not yet released), which is kind of saddening. And I've read almost nothing of Empire, and literally nothing of Tales, though in both cases I'd like to.

Very odd, ner burc'ya, very odd indeed.

Can't wait for this one. Karen's one of my favorites, but I think that I'm going to have to wait until the UK release... gah
