Not exactly, and I have to admit it isn't a complete recon. Its just something I have in my personal obscure-reference notes. Here's some background:

In Marvel Annual #1, it is mentioned that Obi-wan once came came to Skye with two apprentices during the Clone Wars. Sometime later, Vader came to Skye and claimed to be one of those apprentices (therefore gaining control over the S'kytri people.) Now, back in "the day" it was assumed that one of those apprentices was Luke's father and the other one was Vader. However, we now know that to be false, since Anakin is Vader. I hadn't thought up a retcon for who the other "apprentice" was (I'll leave that to Abel... wink ), but I had thought something up that allows the S'kytri to recognize Vader as one of the apprentices.

For the retcon, I thought it would make sense that Anakin would fly during his battles on Skye, either in his fighter, or on some sort of personal jetpack/repulsorpack/glider (like Luke and Leia do in the comic.) Enter this toy:

Anakin Skywalker with a rescue glider, from the Jedi Force line. Anakin could use a jetpack, but I think that it makes sense that he'd choose a winged pack (kinda like those garbage pit racing wings...) Additionally, the Clone Wars cartoon has Cody and his troop with jetpacks, opening up the possibility that they served on Skye, too. Next, throw this toy into the mix:

An upcoming Force Battlers Darth Vader figure, with rocket-firing wings. Its possible that Vader would have used something like this when he returned to Skye to take control.

So far, its not exactly a retcon, but a couple of toy references. But wait, there's more: assuming that Anakin used wings both times he was on Skye, that could be another possible way for the S'kytri people to recognize him (or not recognize him, since his face is covered up both times.)

I appologize if that's a little messy, but I haven't written out a consise What's the Story-style entry for it.

That would be fun to see though a battlefield much like bespin... nothing but Sky(e)...pun intended grin . It could go something like this:

I just love that picture

I doubt there will be a second printing of the Vader Guide, you can occasionally find them on eBay. I do have a few extra copies left for purchase in my online store at my official site. Since it's out of print it's not cover price but at least you can get an autographed copy if you're interested.
Incidentally, I've added autographed copies of SW Insider #86 to my online store if anyone is still looking for the issue.

The real challenge would be to retcon Darth Tater and the Spudtroopers, I'd like to see someone tackle that one (I'm sure there's a thread for this somewhere already).
Maybe in "Vader's Legacy" Abel will use Darth Tater as Vader's whimsical sidekick who acts as his conscience a'la Jiminy Crickett, Scrappy Doo or the Great Gazoo... but I won't be drawing that scene wink

A premium prize toy from Biscuit Baron? silly

You know, if there is ever a Toy Story 3, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tater and/or Spudtrooper show up... thinking

Hey folks!

Quick update. Currently pounding through Dark Nest and Betrayal (yes, that Betrayal) in order to get Vader's Legacy as up to date as possible. Seems that they want this one early, so deadline is looming.

This may delay the Grievous Endnotes a bit, but I think you'll agree the trade off is worth it. Plus, I think Joe's planning a nice expose on the art side of things for Unknown Soldier, so there's that to look forward to. happy

Take care,
Abel

shock Betrayal! drooling Why you lucky little... this makes me very jealous wink . Anyway, I can live with a Grievous endnotes delay for now. I did, by the way, read through your Droids + the Force endnotes and I thought they were very well-written and thorough -- I'm sure I won't be dissapointed with Grievous' batch. As for Vader's Legacy, I really am looking forward to this one happy .

Well minus the Holiday Special (Lucas is personally executing everyone whose ever SEEN it). Yes, all of the above. You have to be a Lucasarts employee ;-)

Execute Order 666. Purge the Holiday Special, commanders! devil

If necessary, Darth Tater could be reconned to a hallucination on Vader's part.

Or a deal he did to promote the Biscuit Baron after losing a bet with Baron Tagge (thus explaining why he has it in for the Tagges)

More like a short lived Rebel Propaganda displaying the ineptitude of Imperial lackeys... I wonder if this will go into Luke and Leia's inheritance?
