At least not the very first one from a game.

I suspect the inevitable Republic Commando novel for Order 66 will be in hardcover--but it would be, at minimum, the fourth in the series, and I wouldn't even define that as a game tie-in any longer.

I'm placing my bets on something having to do with Andeddu.

I plan to loose my bets, of course.

Well, LL said they wanted to keep the big three around after LOTF...

maybe this will be a single hard cover based afterward entitled Luke Skywalker: Dead Man. I mean, how many copies of a book called Luke Skywalker: Dead Man do you think they'd sell? I bet it would hit the New York Times bestseller list within a day. LL would make so much money they wouldn't know what to do with it.

They would probably need it to hire extra security...

Start-of-year hardcover? thinking

3rd February 2004: Survivor's Quest, by Tim Zahn
25th January 2005: Labyrinth of Evil, by Jim Luceno
31st Jaunary 2006: Outbound Flight, by Tim Zahn
30th January 2007: Allegiance, by Tim Zahn

Discounting 2005, when they understandably ran with a Revenge of the Sith tie-in, does anyone else see a pattern here...? wink

I'm not really sure. Those books don't exactly have a load in common, unless you are expecting it to be written by Zahn.

Shadows of the Empire?

That's what they've been comparing this whole blitz to. I hope y'all are right, but I wouldn't be surprised if this happened.

Oooh, good point. SOTE was a simultaneous release, not strictly a game tie-in book--but you're right that that's how Force Unleashed is described anyway.

BTW, what acronym are we going to use for this series? whistling Although I'd be happy with just going around posting FU everywhere, I think FUL might be better in the long run....

How about a Luke/Mara/Ben novel by Zahn either pre or post-LOTF perhaps a sequel to Allegiance? It would be like Survivor's Quest but have a space battle or two. Ben could accompany his parents Luke and Mara on a mission perhaps hone his piloting skills unless this doesn't happen in LOTF.

I like this. Of course, I'd like it better without Ben, who I'm not overly fond of.

I would love a Padme story myself - in any timeframe be it her reign as Queen or as Senator. I think the Powers That Be could find wonders if they delve into Naboo culture and politics, explore the relationship between Padme and Palpatine, and even show the parallels in their characters.

But I'm not holding my breath.
