Yeah, that. I somehow forgot to add "October".

Maybe the reason for the delay in an announcement is because they want to tie it into the multimedia project they have in mind. If said project takes place in the Dark Times Era (which is likely, with the TV show), then that could also be the secret reason behind the delay of Coruscant Nights.

Too true. I guess it's actually pretty rare that a one-shot isn't a hardcover. Dark Rendezvous is the only one that comes to mind --- Bantam or Del Rey --- and it could be argued that it was part of the Clone Wars series.

Dark Journey, Traitor, and The Final Prophecy, though those were parts of the NJO, which is definitely a series (Clone Wars could be argued to not be one, though). And the last is not only part of the NJO, but a sequel to the Edge of Victory duology.

Escape from Dagu (were it not cancelled).

Republic Commando: Hard Contact (written as a standalone which retroactively became a series). Possibly Triple Zero as well (for the same reason as the two X-wing books I named below).

Star Wars Galaxies: Ruins of Dantooine.

Isard's Revenge and Starfighters of Adumar -- like the first two, they're part of a larger series, but are also self-contained tales as opposed to a duology/trilogy/quadrilogy.

Of course, there's also the five Tales volumes, though those are short story anthologies, not novels; still, each stands alone. happy

This is an imaginary story... aren't they all supposed to fit together, though?
An animated cartoon about Obi-Wan and Padawan Anakin would have made more sense.

Ah, I always forget that one. I'd call the rest parts of series, though Hard Contact has a good argument, as the series was retroactive.

Since the two X-Wing novels you mentioned say "Book (8 or 9) in the exciting series!", they're definitely not standalones. happy

Escape from Dagu's cancellation led to Dark Rendezvous's existence, so I won't count it, either.

I hope it's a General Grievous novel, set during the Huk Wars.

I actually hope that it is a novel featuring a betting scandal and the intrigue of the Blob Races.

Blobbing was okay. I can respect a creative idea. You can Askajian hug your endless dejarik and sabaccing. That chapter was a bit long, but at least we saw Calrissian doing something front stage, not the bias he's getting today.

It will either be a post episode 3 pre episode 4 book or a book in the Sith era. I really don't see that book anywhere else

Sue Rostoni had this to say about the book at TOS today:

Is there any chance of there not being a Feb '08 HC (or am I asking to much)?

It's happening. I want to wait until we get an approved outline before announcing.

She also said, slightly earlier, that Jan 1st is as good a time as any to expect to hear something.

As a side note, Sue used the GrS reckoning when discussion dates of the LotF series. I now like her significantly more than I already did.

That's good news. I hope we still get the Luceno/Plaguies novel at the end of '08, I read somewhere it was cancelled or delayed

"On hold" is what Charles says Luceno said. Apparently there are concerns over Sidious's backstory that need to be ironed out.
