A couple of observations:

"Shadow Hand" - this seems to be the formal title of the Sith Apprentice. Interesting...

Did anyone think a lot of Jacen when reading the Kadaan stuff?

And... either Lumiya has another apprentice Abel isn't telling us about, or else some of the things the Supreme Overlord said have to be read as savage irony...? raised_brow thinking mischief

What did the article say about Revan's Sith Empire (specifically it's origins and it's fate)?

FANtastic article, Pena! dancing

Millenial and Ruin's stories were done remarkably well (considering I didn't think we'd be hearing from them again anytime soon).

As for the "Shadow Hand" term that was coined here... reminds me of another kind of shadowy Hand...

Revan wasn't mentioned, IIRC.

This is gonna sound like a weird question, but is there any way for an American to purchase a HS subscription without getting Insider delivered?

Isn't Shadow Hand a Chiss term also? Or is that Shadow Child or something like that?

But now Lumiya is DEFINITELY a Sith.

Well, we kinda knew that once the Tempest description described her as "Dark Lady of the Sith."

No, not really. It is the formal name for the second-in-command of a Dark Lord of the Sith. There's a difference.

Vader is a Sith apprentice, and Dark Lord of the Sith. While Vader and Sidious lived, Lumiya was intended to be Vader's second-in-command, and hence Shadow Hand.

"Sith apprentices" would only be Shadow Hands while there is a sole Dark Lord - as in, Revan's time. In Bane's order, both Sith were Dark Lords, so there was no Shadow Hand.

So, in Bane's order, a Shadow Hand can technically be the second-in-command of a second-in-command.

I should note, however, that Sora Bulq is for all intents and purposes, Dooku's Shadow Hand.

Wouldn't Asajj, Quin, or Skorr be closer to Dooku's personal #2?

Especially since we know that Asajj has been given at least some Sith teaching.

Sora seems to be in charge of all those guys though.

Certainly, he bosses Skorr and Vos around, and he predates Ventress as a pupil.

Ventress is specifically called Dooku's executor.

I agree - if anyone, it's Sora. Asajj screws up too much, and Dooku has been known to subordinate her to Grievous if she misbehaves. Quinlan's not fully converted and Dooku knows it - and he's subordinated to Sora on his last mission (and he only kills Sora with the mental help of his Master and Padawan). Sora also is said to teach Quinlan things like Vaapad.

I will note that Dooku seems to seperate his ex-Jedi minions from his minions-who-hate-Jedi (Durge, Grievous, etc.), probably for obvious reasons and not just because Dark Horse was focusing on one and Clone Wars focused on the other. Asajj seems to be the most senior of his 'wannabe Sith', while Sora is the most senior of his 'fallen Jedi'. Quin knows them both, and he thinks Sora is closer to Dooku/ "the second Sith"

Asajj definitely knows Sidious exists, though, while it's unclear if Sora does. (Skorr doesn't!)

It's also, I suppose, possible that Sora as of late Siege of Saleucami is Asajj's replacement. But Quin believes he's the second Sith Lord before that.

Hey folks!

I wish I had more time this weekend. Family's in from out of town.

But for now:

Hey Abel, could you confirm or deny, if King Adas is supposed to be this guy from Odan Urr's Holocron? grin
I remember that pic, but I actually didn't have any art reference in mind when I described Adas. I just basically used the bits from the Tales of the Jedi Companion vignette he appears in, and added the dark skin pigmentation.

Can this guy be Adas? Maybe. I personally wouldn't link the two since the guy in Tales of the Jedi illo has a lightsaber and I believe the text suggests he's a fallen Jedi, which Adas clearly never was. But then, there's always leeway with illustrations.

Take care,
Abel

I found it very interesting in the article where it mentions the ancient Sith race were predominantly left-handed.

I wonder if this is a subtle reference to:

The Left Hand Path

If it is not the intention of the author, it is an amazing cooincidence nontheless, as this real-world philosophy certainly does mesh with the philosophies of the Sith.

I suggest everyone check it out, as I would love to have some discussion on this point.
