Hutts are gangsters. Some are evil, maybe, but most, I'd imagine, are just criminal businessmen.

Watch The Godfather.

Rodians come from a culture that prizes violence and the Hutt, so bounty hunting is something they do well. Bith tend to make good musicians for some reason, too. I don't think there's anything wrong with different species showing predominant characteristics.

In Tempest, we get a Rodian and a Bith as detectives. I want them to get their own novel.

But anyway, what about Beldorion? he must have been quite good before he fell to the dark side.
It's possible that most hutts are just naturally evil, and the ones that are not are probably the hutt version of sociopaths.
Personally i don't see them as just shrewd business men. Old Jibba-Jabba, for instance, liked to torture people, and he personally ran Jilliacs kid over with his fat gut. Jabba is probably a typical specimen, he's bloated and slimy and his race is obviously meant to be vile.

I don't know if you can compare them to Italians though. thinking
But when you think about it, Hutts are fat, polluting, greedy and eager to kill people, exactly the way the rest of the world view americans... Coincidence? raised_brow laugh
