Well, most of it has to do with Kyle's badassery in his video games. I also, personally, really like the fact that he's actually gotten a good amount of development over the years and has evolved beyond just some video game character.

He's not beardless, so much as Beardless. You see, he still sports that silly Mirror Spock Goatee. That's part of what makes him so evil, he believes that Kyle-free Star Trek is better than Kyleful Star Wars.
