Seeing as survivors of the purge keep showing up everywhere post RotJ at the moment I don't see it as impossible the SA could stay hidden. Maybe he bumps into the hidden temple?

The new article in Playstation Magazine says that he is a young child (not specific) when Vader finds him, and the game takes place about fifteen years later, IIRC. This is from the author though, so it is not an in-universe source for confirmation.
It does refer to him as a teenager though, so with what we have to go on I would say 18/19ish. The actor looks to old for that, but no worse than Ben in ANH.

Go check out my posts from the previous page. His mother was a Jedi who died defending wookies from slavers on Kashyyk.
