They don't seem particuarly concerned about keeping the redemption theme under wraps. They've discussed redemption being a key theme in The Force Unleashed in several of the trailers. Its not so much the fault of the minatures as apparently just part of their overall marketing strategy for the game.
I expect its just part of Lucas's "Star Wars is for kids" approach in that he doesn't want paranoid parents worrying its a violent video game about cutting down younglings. They obviously just want us to know it has a happy ending and isn't a dark or excessively violent story, despite the substantial amount of "Kicking peoples ass with the Force" marketing it has also had -- which, again, they might feel paranoid parents could take the wrong way.

Well, they had the product ready to go for the actual projected TFU release date. They just didn't hold it back like the other tie-ins; possibly because it's a niche product that won't really have its demand affected by the game's release date, possibly because it wasn't economically feasible to hold back a minis release like other products, possibly because aside from having one figure that may or may not represent the canonical ending, it really doesn't spoil anything for the game the same way the comic and book will.
I doubt it's a decision based on milking people for cash; how many people sitting around reading about the game online are really going to think, "Gee, it's been delayed. Maybe I should start playing the SW Minis game to make up for it."

Yes, but they also gave us a SA in full sith lord mode, so clearly it is going to be up to the player how they want to play the game and if they want to be redeemed. Given how most of the other star wars games give you that choice I think the only spoiler was the apprearance of the SA sith and SA jedi, not their existence.

I was actually referring more to the novel than the video game, which WILL have one canonical ending.
Personally I'd rather the SA die while still in darkness, despite the best efforts of those around him trying to "save" him.

I agree, but since this is a big SW event with George Lucas in complete control.....it seems pretty obvious he will keep the traditional theme and Korto Vos will at the end being the redeemed Jedi as shown in the new Secret Apprentice 3-pack versus the masked Sith Lord with spikes coming out of his arms. I just can't see Lucas wanting the Sith Lord version to be the canon ending...kinda like he didn't want the Dark Side Revan ending in KotOR I. Its also worth noting that it is possible that the redeeemed Korto is carring his father's lightsaber in the action figure as well.

Korto Vos? Isn't he way too young young to be the SA? We've seen the SA's face and it certainly doesn't bear the Kiffar mark.

That isn't a birth mark but some sort of paint that Kiffar's mark their faces with....can't see a reason why he would continue to wear the mark if he's Vader's apprentice. As far as him being too young...YES...I 100% agree. But I'm willing to bet anything that the SA is in fact Korto Vos and the complaints about breaking canon will erupt on this forum after the book is released in June.

The recent Star Wars insider stated that the SA's parents were brand new and both jedi. That eliminates Korto.

Would you please quote that section that actually says that? Thank you.
Regardless...he will take the Light Side route because that seems to be GL's common theme.
