	Are you kidding me? That is Vader after his showdown with the Secret Apprentice and the Rebel Alliance onboard the Death Star. EDIT: Apparently the iron-lung is powered by Energizer, Vader takes a Rancor-sized tail whipping and keeps going and going... "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. 	Yeah, if Vader's still standing tall after getting that roughed up in-game/in-story, it'll be awesome. But I've already said that, anyway. While I do think the SA will get redeemed, I don't think he'll get redeemed all the way to "Jedi" status in the "canon" ending of the game. Hs survival is of course still up in the air, though rumors of sequel-planning seem to indicate that it's possible....then again, maybe he knocks up Juno before he dies, and the sequel can take place during the NJO! cough

Let us not forget that what was killing Anakin by the time he gets his mask removed was the fact that Palpatine's lightning fried all his electronics - I mean, listen to his breathing after he tosses Palpy down the shaft. Even then, he's able to survive for a little while without his mask on, and Vader sits in his hyperbaric chamber without his helmet on all the time. How many toys do you think they'd sell if the packaging showed Vader struggling? We don't know what happens in the story yet. And Luke's right, especially because of the damage done to the rest of Vader's systems. Vader, without his mask, will eventually die. However, I reiterate, we have no idea what actually happens in the story to cause Vader to look this messed up, and we don't know what happens after he gets this messed up, so let's not make too many assumptions. He can't go helmetless on the outside, now, but you'll remember that he's helmetless for a little while as the chamber's opening. It's not as if his is a pressure suit, where his head will explode from rapid depressurization. The helmet keeps him alive, yes, but he will not die immediately if it's messed up, especially if the rest of his suit is functioning okay.
