What actual confirmation do we have that Obi-Wan is at all in the game's plot? I've see Cam Clarke tossed around as the voice of Obi-Wan, but nothing official. Wookieepedia, Wikipedia, and even IMDb are not official sources, folks.
(Why would they ditch James Arnold Taylor, anyway?)
I for one certainly hope he's not in the game. Lucas told them to create new characters and so far we have...um...Starkiller, Kota, Juno, Brood, and PROXY if he even counts (though, SX3, I think you're onto something with this whole 'pretending to be SA' thing for the stab scene). Why add Obi-Wan? I already despise the fact that they resurrected insignificant Shaak Ti for what is shaping up to be nothing more than boss fight fodder for you to slay.
I still suspect Mara Jade has something to do with the game. That's something I'm not a fan of because I deeply dislike the Thrawn trilogy, but I'll let it slide if it's done well (she could be the spy of Sidious that Gamespot wrote of).

Meh...return of the Jedi had two characters going back to a place they'd been before - Han was being bothered by Jabba on Tatooine, and Luke was from there, so...I mean, not that weird.
Yeah, but it had the head of a massive criminal Empire have his headquarters there...so if there's a bright center to the criminal universe you were in fact on the planet that is nearest to.
Well, again, Han's running into trouble from Jabba on Tatooine, and he meets Jabba on Tatooine...Jabba runs Tatooine. So again, in RotJ, we've got two characters returning there because one has business to take care of there and the other one met him while he was there on business...

There was nothing in ANH, SE or no, that ever indicated that it was Jabba's center of operations. In ESB we get the feeling Jabba's influence runs far and wide, only to find out that...yeah, it was back on Tatooine anyway.

As for Obi Wan, I hope he's not in either. I just don't see the point of him being included. And back to that spoiler MADERIC, my money is on Mara being the spy that tracks StarKriffer (ie, Proxy) for the stab scene. How Sidious ends up there will almost certainly be contrived, but I digress... According to one of the spoilers, that happens about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through the game. And unless that scene of him busting out of the glass office/container (in the preview video) is the SA getting healed, I don't believe that there would be enough time in-game to recover from a stab wound to the gut... from a lightsaber no-less. That is my main thought process behind the theory of Proxy standing in to take impalement. After seeing Mara in the duel mode screen I got to thinking, why make that skin?
One other thing, why would there be a badass holodroid if he doesn't take one for the team leader? Other than posing as a Wookieee (or whatever), when the SA is disguised as a bounty hunter, I don't see his purpose... I'd bet the farm he's the one who gets gutted. And I'd also wager on the side, that Vader knows the truth of it and Sidious doesn't.
I'm on the fence in regards to Shaak Ti. For me, it all depends on how the story goes.
If the portion of the plot that gets us there is weak, then she'll look like she was just thrown into the game because of her name. I'll wait to reserve judgement on her till I see the action.
And Tatooine needs a vacation, its been WAY overworked.

Well...I mean...he was there to hassle Han personally - and let's not forget that the SE scene was just a restored cut scene from the '77 version.
I dunno, I never had a problem with it...

I suppose it could factor into why in the comic PROXY only narrates the first two thirds of the story leaving Juno to do the last part.
Are we expected to shed tears at the death of a droid though?

The seams are starting to line up.
We may just get a sweet pair of PANTS out this story after all.

Droids can be repaired...
...and why are we assuming that, if this is PROXY standing in for the SA, that Vader's not in on the trick?

Actually BobaMatt, I suggested that from the get go...
My money is on Vader knowing the truth, and Sidious just assuming the SA is dead.

I agree with him actually. I never really liked the Thrawn Trilogy, even after re-reading it as an adult.
As for Shaak Ti, I can't wait to see her. She is clearly one of George's favorite characters, what with the deleted scene of Greivous wasting her...

So the (graphic) novels will be out a month early after all?
Must say I'm surprised. I was expecting them to hold off and keep the story secret. But then again maybe they decided releasing too much in September might mean people wouldn't be able to afford to buy it all at once.
Oh well... guess that means we've only got a couple of months to wait to find out. Seems to have been a bit of a slowdown in new stuff recently. Lots of major spoilers last month now its gone quiet again.
