From the incomplete text on the side, it looks like they're actually cyborgs or mad Force adepts or something. Don't we already have inexplicable stormtrooper cyborgs called Dark Troopers? It's not a continuity error if somebody else did it first.

edit: and to the darktroopers/dark troopers thing... i love the idea of dark troopers/darktroopers. dark forces is one of my fave sw storylines (even if it was a video game). i have more thoughts on this subject but i'm sleepy right now.

Maybe they're dark troopers in the sense that the Force sensitive stormies in DE II were called dark troopers.

From what the page appears to say, this is the Force-using cyborg type of Dark Trooper, not the robot Dark Troopers made by Mohc. It may not technically be a continuity error---we know very little about the cyborg Dark Troopers and how they're related to Mohc's Dark Troopers. But it still smells odd...

If all these Dark Troopers get killed, there's nothing stopping the name from being re-used for something entirely differant over a decade later. Maybe they'll be nothing like the Dark Forces Dark Troopers and their failure will result in the project being restarted from scratch with a differant concept.
This is a Lucas Arts game so you'd hope that they'd be the most careful with canon that was created by Lucas Arts.

Weren't the Dark Troopers in Battlefront explained away as some other type of Dark Trooper? I figure these could just be the same as those or whatever.
If a retcon is necessary though they could always claim they were Blackhole Troopers.
