I highly doubt it will be anyone not created by Dark Horse. It might be a new character with a surprising connection to one of those in Legacy, but it won't be Jacen, Anakin, Kyp, or whoever.

You know, when I wrote that letter column, John and Jan were talking about that story arc being five issues. Now it has become six issues. So I'm no longer certain that the Krayt reveal will be issue #15. It might be #16. Either way, after reading the guesses here, I'm kicking myself that we didn't turn Porkins' vaccuum-frozen remains into Krayt...

Oh, come on. Why do that when you could have him be a clone of the son of Porkins' long-lost Sith twin brother, raised by a Mandalorian Sith Twi'lek hottie smuggler with a quadruple-bladed black lightsaber and a Wookiee sidekick who helps her fly their billion-kilometer Super Star Dreadnought Destroyer?

A'Sharad Hett is Darth Krayt.

- He comes from Tatooine, just like the krayt dragon does.
- His facial tattoos are very similiar to Krayt's.
- He had the opportunity to end the Skywalker line in "Republic: Enemy Lines" by killing Anakin on Argonar.
- He even got a second chance when he went back to Tatooine after the purge. He could have killed the young Luke.


Of course it could also be Vader's apprentice or Ken or Triclops or Palpatine's clone No. 1138 or even Jacen Solo who flow-walked back into time after realizing that LotF was kind of cheesy and the New Sith Order needs a different start.

Wouldn't surprise me if Krayt turns out to be a totally unexpected character. Someone nobody would think of. A resurrected Brakiss, Xizor or...Darth Maul.

Both of these are true, but could equally apply to a descendent of A'Sharad.

Besides, that wouldn't have taken out Leia.

In any case, the time frame is wrong. Krayt grew up after the collapse of the Empire, and the disorder of those times is what convinced him that the galaxy needed a strong hand to guide it.

That is my latest guess as well. I wouldn't put it past Randy and John to sneak something like that in, considering that Crimson Empire III was cancelled but was supposed to have a fight between he and Luke.

And it might finally solve that whole mess about Emperor's Guards and Force Sensitivity.

I'm just surprised that a reasonably prominent LOTF character with Force powers hasn't been suggested yet.

However, if we really want characters who haven't been suggested yet . . . Brenn Tantor.
