I think this is overall a good trend.
Totally agreed, BUT...

it is breaking the mold DR has created for itself. It is going back to a warlord of the week. It is going back to the New Republic era. It is going back to fill in the pieces. Even better it is based off of some throw away line in some old sourcebook.
LOTF is based on an antagonist that actually is some kind of a throwaway line, if you think about it - comics that had been thrown over board, are brought back for "collectors of kitsch" and suddenly form an immense proportion of the EU. Marvel should definitely have closed all of their storylines in their short-notice-final-issue (maybe put everyone on one planet for a big meeting and let that explode... wink
ThrawnRocks posted:
While the events of the story are important, it doesn't seem that it will be a "ZOMG TEH GALAXY IS ABOUT TO BE DESTROYED" story like what DR usually does.
That's what might make it really great. Let's have the Adventures of Luke Skywalker instead of the story that is just as dramatic as the movies themselves. Why should the novels attempt to top the movies?

Or one can choose to meet it with love.
Jacen had chosen.
But still, he was astonished to discover that the Universe could love him back.

I forsee the "reveal" clearly.

Hmm.

I see the little "tagline" at the back of the hardcover now.

Only Luke Skywalker could be petty enough to offend an inanimate object...

I think 'and the' should be used in all star wars titles from now on. And old novels should be changed when reprinted:

Yoda and the Dark Rendezvous

Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Cestus Deception

Anakin Skywalker and the Labyrinth of Evil

Leia Organa and the Tatooine Ghost

cool

That would be the perfect title for the last SW novel or the last one to feature Luke.

True. I forgot about that. And even better, Lumiya's inclusion, aside from being a logical character to use for a role they had already made, seems part of a larger movement in the EU to bring the Marvel comics back into the loop. We have seen several Zeltrons and Nagai in the comics, as well as a possible Hiromi. Another good trend overall in the EU.
