He acts like such a freaking saint and constantly having brushes with the dark side throughout the novels.. I have not read sacrifice yet, but though Jacen is a little shady, for the most part he is doing everything he can to save the galaxy, its Lumiya that is manipulating the war to turn Jacen. I am assuming Mara learns Jacen and Lumiya are working together and therefore decides to kill him. Why? Because she is right, which means he is wrong. He is a tough commander that really has no limits in reaching his goals (which are nobel), but some of the hero's of our world have been the same. Now he has done something HORRIBLE. But what is he supposed to do. Drop his sword and let her kill him. (we all know she would) What are these constant brushes? Last I checked, Jedi kill Sith. They're supposed to. SIth being the antithesis of balance and lfie and all. Besides, Lumiya is a dangerous murderer and sociopath, or have you forgotten?

	000 posted: Alright, the usual big-picture related requests. - Any fleet action? - Are the Jedi in StealthX's again? - Any further information on the Council roster? - Status of the Confederation? - Phennir? Any cameo? 1) Not yet. This novel is pretty much about the characters, and fwiw, the Mandos take up a lot less space than in BLOODLINES. 2) Yes, Mara almost causes a small diplomatic incident when she follows Jacen in a StealthX and it's one reason they aren't sure where she's gone. 3) Errrm...don't quite recall. 4) Ben assasinates the President of the Corellian League on Jacen's orders and this is what causes the rift and sets Mara on Jacen. Mara confronts Jacen, tells him she knows he's going dark, but is interrupted by the hunt for Lumiya and lack of solid evidence. Later, Ben overhears Lumiya and Jacen talking and tells his mother, and then she goes after him. Luke is bummed because he acted out of vengence on Lumiya and the hint is that part of him may have still had feelings for Shia, and he's having doubts about his judgement so Ben decides to hunt for evidence against Jacen on his own . It looks like the Mandos and the Verpine and other non-aligned worlds are signing non-aggression pacts to protect themselves from all sides. 5) ??? I used "Corellian League" because I couldn't remember if there was someone in charge of the Confederation military seperate from Gerjin or whatever the name of the guy who had Solo kill Thacken in BLOODLINES and wanted to be clear who I was talking about. I'm getting tired of the authors not doing anything with her. Jacen has this huge story, falling to the dark side, murdering all kinds of people, doing all sorts of mean and nasty, ugly things. And Jaina... has a trail of boyfriends. I mean, I'm not going to lie, her romantic angle is fun to read, but I wish she would do something! I had to think about it for a moment and she's in the book quite a bit, has a long talk with Mara about her boyfriends and responsibilities as a Jedi, a nice heart to heart as well as helping Luke try to track down Mara and, iirc, is at Luke's side when he finds out that Mara has died. Earlier in the novel she is very much a part of the discussions about how to hunt the Siths, Lumiya and Alema, down and what to do about Jacen. So, she's actually in the novel quite a bit, but as more of a supporting character, but she's very, very much a part of the novel and is a great help to both Luke and Mara throughout the book. There's also a council session on what to do about Jacen. I dimly remember that it's interrupted by Mara returning from having fought Lumiya and the session being called because Mara is wounded and Luke needs to spend time with her and debrief her over how her hunting went.
