Kavan is near Hapes. It's also a new planet/moon. To be honest, I forget exactly where it's supposed to be, but near Hapes.

And Hapes appears for sure, and I believe that Tenal Ka and daughter also put in appearences.

There is no reason to believe that Luke killed Lumiya in anger or that it was a Dark Side action. It seems to have been similar to the killing of Thrackan by Han and the bucketheads. The act was itself perhaps morally wrong, but justified in the circumstances. Han did not become morally corrupt because he participated in the murder of his cousin, and there is no reason to believe that Luke would fare worse. It could just make him to be even more cautious of the Dark Side than before.

I had expected her to die in this book so I asked Tim Zahn that question when he was in Philly for his new book. He said that they can do with the characters as they see fit (they being the authors under contract) and that he didn't keep up with LotF. He did think they would let him know, though, but since they hadn't at the time...
