Having reread Dark Rendevouz recently I just love the book. The style, ideas, characterization, the dialogue and incorporation of Alien species, worlds, background history etc. This Author, Sean Stewart, really did a great job and I hope he will return to SW EU in the future. IS there anything else he wrote I might have missed or forgotten that it was him?

Just some DR facts I want more to know about and love:

Yoda had a dark past, too. His experiences and errors.

Scout, a hot young and interesting character.
Whie... interesting, but not hot wink

A Short story about their last stand during ROTS would be nice, or more books about the survival of Scout. Or even in general more EU by this great author. Whereas other authors write great in their certain areas and preferences (Travis & Mandos and pov-style in general, Denning & YJK, Stovers style in general, Allstons action and millitary, etc.) I think Sean Stewart mixed a lot of stuff and styles very well, and in addition to that, got the great Star Wars feeling right!!! Humor, Action, Adventure, the pace and much more, like the details of history, characterisation, etc. He knows how to characterise Yoda perfectly well as wise teacher, humorous friend and action hero. He knows how to write known and unknown characters well alone or together. etc. blabla I love it!

Discuss !!!

My second favorite Star Wars book, after the ROTS adaptation. I hope Stuart returns at some point as well. Just don't let Excellence know about it.

Excellence might have something to say on the matter.

DR was a great book! It's one of the few SW novels I've read five times. It nicely tied together and incorporated bits and pieces of Dooku and Yoda's characterizations from previous sources. Better use of Asajj Ventress than most novels, and I loved the running joke about her ship at the end. happy I hope to see Stewart return to the EU (we still don't know Scout's fate!)

It needed more Yoda and less Whie and Scout.

yeah, Whie was both in the Temple when Vader led his fist in. Whie is killed alongside Cin Dralling, the man Vader kills on holocam that Kenobi and Yoda watch.

I agree with the opinion that, outside of the ROTS adaptation, this was THE second-best book to come out of the Clone Wars novel chain. It was fast-paced, and didn't disappoint with the action, BUT it also contained amazingly deep characterization. (Amazingly, I say, because it actually was a fairly short novel.) I say let Stewart re-enter the SW universe ASAP!

Really? I didn't like the ROTS novelization. I'd put Dark Rendezvous as #1 followed by Labyrinth of Evil.

There were elements of this book that I didn't like... such as Yoda supposedly eating disgusting lizard tales. Hello? Dude, the Databank gives a pretty distinct impression that Yoda was vegetarian!

Maybe he became vegetarian? Eating habits can change!

I really, really enjoyed DR; cracking good book (sorry, Ex :P !)

The author of the databank obviously didn't read the TESB-novel.

Until the stew Yoda is giving Luke is from plants only.

Uh, unless I'm missing something or it was removed, Yoda's Databank entry doesn't say anything to indicate that he was vegetarian...

She was like 13. Stay away from the middle schools, OK?

Anyway, the book needed more Yoda and Dooku and way less Whie and Scout. Especially Scout.
