First two covers are up. Is that Zayne vs. a rakghoul?

In Mando armour, too. Perhaps an unevolved Taung? Although rakghouls seem to tie in well with the "vector = disease" angle.

More imprtantly: is that a Rakghoul in Mandalorian armor?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure a Mandalorian was infected by the Rakghoul disease and transformed. Pretty cool cover though.

This is the best guess I've seen yet. I bet the characters of each time period will have to deal with an outbreak of rakghoulism. What the vector for the affliction will be, though, should be interesting to discover!

Or perhaps different diseases in each book? Rakghouls in KOTOR, but how about Vongspawn in Legacy?

Authorial intent and behind-the-scenes information means nothing and holds no weight in canon terms until such information is published or we're told it's in the holocron.

What about the first appearance of Carth Onasi in the KOTOR comics? Neither JJM nor Dustin Weaver intended for it to be Carth, but they changed their minds after the publication, and now it's Carth. Isn't that authorial intent? Edit: Retroactive, but intent nonetheless.

Easy, just blackmail the doctor by finding out that he is secretly harboring injured Republic soldiers/Jedi/Luke Skywalker/Jedi and he will give you the Rakghoul serum. You can do what you want with it after that. grin

The same. Unless Leland tells use he made a note in the 'cron about it, or DH does a re-print with a nametag, it's just a nifty behind-the-scenes thing that doesn't effect canon.

Another reason to pick up the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Handbook in November. Old stuff, new stuff, and a few behind-the-scenes things appearing on stage for the first time.

Not saying this is or isn't one of them -- but I'll see if I can make you look in any event! wink

Wow, that's a nice cover to kick off the Vector crossover. Though its too bad that Luke is still wielding his blue lightsaber, or that Cade is using a blue one, as I'd think it would look better if all the characters had different lightsaber colors. Oh well, still looks cool. Though wasn't there already a cover for this issue? Though this one is better, just curious what happened to the older one, unless that was an internal artwork that was just being used for a cover until the real one came out, but it didn't really seem like the inside of a comic.

Meh, whatever, looking forward to Vector when it starts.

And I pray the Handbook comes out in early November as it isn't a part of the regular series.

The old "cover" has long since been established to be an interior panel: the link called it "int_pg_4," I believe, suggesting it to be interior page 4. :-)

Ah, thought it would be an interior page (given how they had interior pages as title page placeholders until the actual cover came out), but it still looked really strange for a scene in a comic. Unless its a Force vision, so logic and regular (Star Wars) laws of physicas don't apply.

Well, that's good, as the actual cover looks much better. Although I'm kind of sad now that I know that the regular art looks like that. Or maybe I'm just being too pessimistic.

Hey, what if it's the Rakghouls, they're in the deadly Undercity of Taris, and, as a matter of fact, rather monstrous fellas. Do we know how long there've been Rakghouls up to the events of KotOR I? Because if they've been around long enough, it's safe to call 'em ancient, too. tongue
