I'm guessing we'll either get single-series Vector trades (with non-Vector related issues included to fill-out the min trade size requirements of 4-6 issues) or we'll get that in addition to two Vector trades collecting just the Vector issues as standalone volumes.

Darth_Shpydar posted: I know it is mildly confusing, so here's the deal based on what we've been told so far:
"Vector" will be covering 12 issues of already ongoing series, in chronological order:
4 issues of KotOR
2 issues of Dark Times
2 issues of Rebellion
4 issues of Legacy
These 12 issues will form the overall arc being referred to as "Vector".
So, each series will have its own Vector "mini-arc".
Each Vector "mini-arc" will be self-contained -- that is, you could just read one mini-arc (for example, the 4 issues of KotOR) and be done if that's what you wanted.
However, each self-contained "mini-arc" will be connected, by whatever/whomever/whichever the over-arching theme/storyline of "Vector" is as a whole. It is still uncertain as to whether this "connector" will be a person, a droid, a place, a ship, an item or even just an idea (for example, the Prophecy of the Chosen One).
You should not have to pick up all the prior issues of a series (for example, the first 20-some issues of KotOR) in order to read and understand a title's Vector "mini-arc".
Now, of course, if you're not a regular reader or follower of a given series, of course you may be slightly lost (with respect to who the main characters and settings are, their backgrounds and motivations, etc), but i would expect that each Vector "mini-arc" will give a sufficient background for any new readers to jump on board.
Hope this clarifies things a bit, since i know some people are still trying to figure the whole thing out.
Thank you for that clear and detailed information. Its great that we don't haveto be reading all four series to follow Vector. But I suspect after reading some of it I will probably want to.
Why don't you follow all the series now?
-The Rebel Gungan
Its just too much. Too much to figure out what's out, when its out, what story its following etc. DT and Rebellian seem like they might be interesting, but when it comes down to it, its just filling in details from between the movies. Since I already know the "main" story, I tried out KOTOR, which was ok, but I never got into it too much and stopped reading it. I think I was expecting a larger story and one not focused on one character. Legacy, however, I really like. Its telling new stories and is about the universe as a whole, more or less.
But Vector being self-contained is good because you can get all the other stories without getting lost in all the details of the individual series.

Could the KOTOR #25 cover be spoiler as to what connects to the Vector concept? Long lived bugs? Course I'm half serious here.

What is some week's delay for a comic issue, when I wait an annum for a Malazan book?

Say, I just realized that Issues 29 - 32 of Legacy are scheduled to be released October - January, not September - December. I had thought they were hoping to contain Vector within 2008?

I'm sure they hope that. It won't happen. I'd bet on it having occasional delays.

According to the material in the KOTOR Handbook, we are definitely dealing with the Rakghoul virus as well as the search for the Promised Land. Sith artifacts will also be involved, specifically the Muur Talisman which has been traced back to the "Golden Age of the Sith." It also reveals that the Jedi Covenant was on Taris in the hope of locating this Sith object.
Vector so far:
Rakghoul/Rakghoul virus
Promised land on Taris
Muur Talisman (not sure on exact spelling, can someone with the issue verify?)
Jedi Covenant

For you trade-waiters out there, Randy mentioned this over on DHC:
Well, the plan right now is to collect "Vector" as its own thing -- KOTOR & DT in one volume, Rebellion and Legacy in another. Serious thought was given to having the first volume out before "Vector" ended in the comics, but with TFU, the new Clone Wars, and the "Big Damn Luke" book all coming out during the same bookstore season, it will probably get pushed to early '09.

While I hope the rumor is true...I'd be really, really, really (albeit pleasantly) surprised to see a TIE Predator get made. As much new tooling as would be necessary for it, it just seems...unlikely. But if they do, it'd definitely open the door for more "EU-only/non Clone Wars" ships to be made in the future.
Bring on the E-Wings and StealthXs!

I'm calling it right now: Cade's new outfit is robes.
If 'tis true, I might actually be interested in picking some of these up. Zayne is too much awesome to be left sitting on that shelf.
