Yes, Lord knows that there sure have been a lot of continuity issues that could be resolved by discussing the shopping malls some more...

Well... shopping malls do explain how Leia's WHITE DRESS stayed so pristine despite the dunk in the trash compactor.

Oh, please. Like they'd let her five feet away from her cell.

And pristine? She had a mark on it from the fresh paint on the set! wink

I'm actually looking forward to reading about the off-duty areas of the Death Star. We've known that there were shopping malls and cantinas on the station since the Death Star Technical Companion, but this information hasn't been touched on much since then.

What about Qwi Xu, the chick Wedge was escorting in the Jedi Academy Trilogy...Wasn't she around for the construction of the first death star, then sent off to the Maw to start on other projects. Will she be in this? Should she be in this?

She participated in the Death Star redesign in the Maw. The novel apparently begins after this, so she probably won't appear. She might be mentioned, though.

I believe she does in passing only.

I really can't become excited about this book ever since I found out it won't go into the history of the whole project, trying to make sense out of the mess. I nominate Death Star for the Kathy Tyers Award for Best Bait-and-Switch.

After the Darth Plagueis novel, I think it is understandable that they are wary of touching very deeply anything as sensitive as the full history of the Death Star. What if they would have really delved in to the mess, put it in order and then GL would have found out and would have signed another death warrant? tongue

Then they would not have learned the correct lesson from the Plagueis incident, which is "Don't let some dumb intern tell Lucas about upcoming projects when he brings him his coffee," which is what I'm convinced happened.
