Hmm. Interesting. I usually get hardcovers sent to me online and they always arrive about 10 days before the book actually is released. After all of the discussion about the early release of Inferno and with whistle blowers here and there, I'm betting I won't get my Death Star until the actual release date. It certainly hasn't shipped yet and by now it usually would have.

A Canadian book chain. Truth is Amazon has sent me books early too. It's not unusual or a big deal.

I'm hoping this one is worth being a hardcover. It's quite short so a darn good story would be nice. Allegiance (short!) and to a lesser extent Sacrifice felt all the more expensive as they weren't mind blowing fiction. I have faith in the authors though.

You DO understand that you'll be required here to spill the beans on the novel, don't you, Manisphere? praying

See, I just don't believe in spoilers. Even for those people who wanted to be spoiled. My father used to spoil ever single movie, book or television show for me so I'm unfortunately allergic to spoilers. I'm anti-spoiler to an almost militant level.

But we'll see, Pfluegermeister. liarliar

I saw an article about this Death Star book in the current issue of Star Wars Insider.

So what kind of book is this about the Death Star? is it another short storie collection dealing with the characters or does it have some in jokes like the crew of the Death Star leaving that one hole vulnerable?

ok thanks. The Insider mag made it sound like the book was going to be some kind of of those nitpick things where real technicians or whoever poke fun at that exhaust pipe. So I was just wondering if it was gonna be like that or short stories or something

I really am hoping this is going to be an unexpected gem. But no Sidious? I'm more looking forward to the rest of LOTF, the Bane novel and Force Unleashed novel. If I paid hardcover price for Medstar I'd have been very angry so I want a bit more epic from these guys this time. I do however want to read at least one Death Star in hyperdrive sequence. How exactly did that go? confused Great cover art though.

Take it easy. I just avoid spoilers myself. Never said anyone was me. Not sure what that comment even means exactly. That felt like the responses one can get on the IMDB.

Spoilers from NJOE:

Zinnos posted:
Ok, so I'll just do the main things. Daala doesn't show up until half-way throught the book, though Tarkin can't help but fuss how she isn't there for the first half. Qwi Xux doesn't make an appearance though is mentioned munerous times. Vader is in it quite a lot, and it takes you all the way up until after the Death Star is blown up. This means that Obi-Wan, Luke, and Han appear in it.

From what I've seen, Ackbar hasn't appeared. But don't lose hope, I haven't even made it close to finishing. I do like how they really get into the Imperial's heads during the battle of Yavin, like they show the gunners that were shooting at the X-Wings instead of the pilots of the X-Wings like the other novels.

Haven't gotton so so far, but Uli, the MedStar character, does operate on Daala, who gets wounded in the novel. I'll get more once I read more.
