JediMasterKendo posted:I saw an article about this Death Star book in the current issue of Star Wars Insider. So what kind of book is this about the Death Star? is it another short storie collection dealing with the characters or does it have some in jokes like the crew of the Death Star leaving that one hole vulnerable?
Pfluegermeister posted:You DO understand that you'll be required here to spill the beans on the novel, don't you, Manisphere?
Manisphere posted:See, I just don't believe in spoilers. Even for those people who wanted to be spoiled. My father used to spoil ever single movie, book or television show for me so I'm unfortunately allergic to spoilers. I'm anti-spoiler to an almost militant level. But we'll see, Pfluegermeister.

Manisphere posted: I do however want to read at least one Death Star in hyperdrive sequence. How exactly did that go? Great cover art though.
Zinnos posted:Ok, so I'll just do the main things. Daala doesn't show up until half-way throught the book, though Tarkin can't help but fuss how she isn't there for the first half. Qwi Xux doesn't make an appearance though is mentioned munerous times. Vader is in it quite a lot, and it takes you all the way up until after the Death Star is blown up. This means that Obi-Wan, Luke, and Han appear in it. From what I've seen, Ackbar hasn't appeared. But don't lose hope, I haven't even made it close to finishing. I do like how they really get into the Imperial's heads during the battle of Yavin, like they show the gunners that were shooting at the X-Wings instead of the pilots of the X-Wings like the other novels. Haven't gotton so so far, but Uli, the MedStar character, does operate on Daala, who gets wounded in the novel. I'll get more once I read more.
