Yeeha! Now that's photoshopping! grin

Could we please add a detail of this image to Etain's Wookipedia page?

Jacen had learned that one can meet the Universe [...] with fear, or with hatred, or with despair.
Or one can choose to meet it with love.
Jacen had chosen.
But still, he was astonished to discover that the Universe could love him back.

I'm sort of waiting for a change of heart for the Commando group in this one. Maybe that they finally realize that the Jedi have been pawns as well.

...not holding my breath though.

Didn't know what to think when I first saw the cover.
Then I thought...it kind of reminds me of basketball. Maybe it's the lettering and the orange colour. Missing the cheerleaders, though. wink
"Slam dunk, Separatist punks!" laugh

And maybe Halloween. "Dress up like a ghostie. Fill up your buy'ce with sweets."

I'll miss empathizing with their triumphs and sadnesses (at the same time lonely and shared), when they're off the telly.

When order 66 happens, I wonder what will happen to Etain/Darman, I hope darman doesn't like, kill etain, that would suck.

TBH, I don't even remember what Venku says about his parents, if anything, in LoTF, but I'm not holding my breath for a happy ending. The thing I think everyone wants to see is Delta throw down with Omega, but Delta is tied up on the Wookiee homeworld at the end of the game, and probably wouldn't make it back in time for O66 unless Etain is with them. I can see Delta going through with the Order, but for Omega, this must be a lot more conflicted.

Also, is Delta IN O66? I know Traviss has had to get special permission each time she used them from LucasArts due to the possibility of future games, so that may impact on how the last book is written.

I was kinda watching for litttle stuff about that. The only reference I caught in Revelation was that Venku had two lightsabers, I assume Etain's and her Master Fulier's, and that Venku felt sorrow when looking at them.

I really hope she does well writing this and show how some of the Clonetroopers were a little torn about this issue. Because I personally believe that some of these troopers had a hard time doing all this and weren't all 'Oh yeah we're mindless killing machines! Destroy! Destroy!'. I bet some of them liked the Jedi but knew that if they disobeyed Palpatine would blow up their brain or eat it.

I think that Battlefront II implied that some of them may have been hesitant about it, but that like the good soldiers they were, they followed the order without question. Well, most of them, anyway.

So I've been reading SW & following it's continuity for a long long time. I just want to know if it's normal for some random author to shoehorn in a fact like this, Ion team are the only Clonetroopers out of the billion, trillion, million members of the GAR to disobey direct orders. Then to announce the fact so far ahead of an ongoing timeline, just daring future writers to try & contradict them.

Of course it'll still be an interesting book if Omega & Delta go all mindless ultraviolence when O66 is given cause K.Traviss is just that good of a writer, but wouldn't it just be that more interesting if a few curveballs are thrown in like having Skirata convince Darman to leave the GAR & be with his family right as O66 is given & seeing the struggle between duty & honor to friends & family play out between father-figure, ready to fight his father son & ex-Jedi wife?

I would really like to see Darman have a crisis of conscience in the book. Seeing someone overcome a really brutal brainwashing is a literary staple of sci-fi & SW books, it's almost always good reading, y'know?

And/or 3 million less casualties, depending on who you ask tongue .

Seriously, Ion Team considered the order invalid and probably false, and they were quite possibly the only clones to do that. That doesn't mean other Jedi didn't get away somehow, or that some clones pretended to obey but didn't.

There are a few things to keep in mind, and those include the fact that Ion team GOT CAUGHT by the ARC leading the other Clones, Commander Appo, and that in both cases it was Republic Commandos who disobeyed. The commandos were specifically taught by the Cuy'val Dar, and 1) usually were not WITH Jedi, 2) were more socialized than most of the military. The rest of the GAR largely only had contact with each other, except for the ARCs, who were trained specfically by Jango.

Jango, who lost a lot of good friends to the Jedi.

So, we're told that Ion team were the only ones who disobeyed, but they weren't the standard group to be with a Jedi, in all other cases, the ARC's should have been covering the backs of the Jedi, and they may well have had a different opinion. Also, as has already been shown, the attitudes of Omega are vastly different from even other Commando squads. Delta is very nervous about the games that Kal is playing, and how Mandoized he's made his lads, and the Galactic Marines are openly hostile to the RC's for having been trained by the Mandos as well as openly talking the language because they've lost men in fighting with the Mandos who are on the Sep side.

There's a good chance no one sees what happens with Delta and Omega since they're usually NOT part of the regular forces.

However, Delta is STILL going to have to deal with the order. They can justify Bardan because he's not a Jedi anymore, but what happens to Etain is still up for grabs. Not to mention Zey and the others. We know Kal is ready to take Omega and jump ship, but will they actually follow him? Not all the squad was trained by him, and we still have Walon Vau to consider.

Not to mention that a lot will be riding on where all this goes down.

I get all that, patchwork, there's are lots of possible scenarios where either Delta or Omega could intentionally disobey O66. Then someone always pops in with the continuity anti-breaking bit that no ones but Ion are allowed to do it, ever.

On the other side of the coin you've got new Jedi popping in from some time vortex or whatever it was that allowed them to survive Order 66 & the Jedi Purge, despite topmost level canon of all, the films, saying that Obi-1 & Yoda were the last surviving Jedi until Luke Skywalker became one.

EU is alot looser with it's continuity, but still not loose enough to give anyones besides the JEDI free reign to do what they want? Why are all my Mandos & Mando-lites getting all this grief? *sigh* It's like I'm stuck in the '90's trying to tell everyone how good the Young Ones on MTV is & people are all like "what's that? " & "did you watch Beverly Hills 90210 this week?".

Just got an idea for Halloween, I'll be a Mando that under the armor is Vyvyan or Mike the cool one. Yeah, I'll smack that Elvis Stormtrooper in his gob.

Ion is the only group that was -known- to have disobeyed in the initial aftermath *shrug* That doesn't really mean it was the only one. I think it is fair to say the vast vast majority of clones obeyed.

I take my hat off to Ion Team for being the select few clones who can "think" on their own and tell the Empire and Vader to buzz off with that order of theirs.

Traviss is said to have confirmed that Republic Commando will continue as Imperial Commando in a radio interview at SDCC, as well as mentioning possible other books. All I got was that she had an interview with SW Radio where she talked about it, not sure if that's En Direct or another SW podcast/radiocast.

Anyone have any more info?
