And Pumaman, I sincerely doubt you're the first to think of that. I remember hearing as much as far back as when we knew Karen would be writing Delta. I could see it, though. Omega is much more...unconventional.

I think one thing that has confused people for awhile, and is kind of clarified in RC:TC, is that Omega Squad and the Nulls were the only ones to really get any sort of Mando culture imparted to them beyond a marching song and curse words/slang.

Kal Skirta was a massive Nationalist who believed in passing on his culture where most of the other trainers didn't (Delta was trained by Walon Vau and it shows, they aren't as militantly Mando as Omega or the Nulls, and this is going to strain relations starting in TC).

Except... that's explicitly not true. Can't say more with spoiler rules, so meh.

Well, I was being mindful of spoilers as well, but the Great Mando Revolution didn't exactly take place, did it? Delta still knows where their loyalty lies, sections of the GAR actively dislike the "Mando Boys", and while little phrases and such crept down the sense of what Delta feels at the end of the book when they look at Omega isn't there for any of the rest.

Adding Sev's POV was a nice touch to get to that point, but I do wish we had one more POV from outside the directly trained by the Mando camp to really make a full contrast and see how far things did or didn't go.

Or maybe the real mistake was letting Kal stick around Omega and continue their Mando education, as with each novel he's pouring more and more of it in their ears.

I think Delta squad what comply before Omega squad would because they would follow Skirata's orders. We'll see! I hope Etain and Bardika live. Someone does because theres a surviving clone in the Legacy of the Force series that Boba Fett finds.

Why? Why should the Empire be this huge, monolithic entity of sheer evil? Remember that as far as the Core went, the Empire showed a completely benevolent face--and this is a WEG idea! Perhaps worthless Rimkin commanders or nobodies from hayseed planets needed to be ambitious and murderous to get ahead, but the glorious bluebloods of the civilized Core? Hardly.

I don't think it was evil on all levels to be sure but Palpatine did hand pick his advisors(like Pestage) whom picked the sector governors and many Moff's. "Fear and Greed serve to bind each advisor to the Emporer"-ISB. These higher ups seem to all come across as not nice for lack of a better term. Add to this the brain washing attemps of Compnor(also shaped closely by Palpatine).

So here's some various things I'm expecting to happen in O66.

-Bardan lives.
-Etain dies.
-Kal dies.
-Vau dies and gives Mird to Jaing.
-At least one member of Omega dies, perhaps more.
-Vau and Delta rescue Sev from the Seps.
-Kal and the Nulls somehow get Uthan to make a cure based on Ko Sai's data.
-And for some reason, I'm expecting an appearance by Spar.

I definately think Walon will die, but didn't the events in the last two books point out that Mird and Etain had a connection? If she survives, I would think she would obtain ownership.

Also, I don't think that both Etain and Kal will die. One or the other, if either.

On the one hand, I believe we have the answer of the only Clonetrooper group to NOT obey Order 66 was the group from Dark Lord.

On the other hand, given the nature of the Greek Tragedy situation we have as possible, I'm guessing that the Clones all die to ensure the safety of Darman and Etain's child, with a small possibility of Etain surviving.

That way, the DL information is correct (as far as anyone knows) and we get pathos.

Couldn't it still be correct if one considered the Republic Commandos not a "Clonetrooper group"?

Could be if the group from Dark Lord wasn't a Commando group which I believe they were... wink

EDIT: Here you go:
Wookieepedia posted:
Ion Team was a unit of clone commandos attached to the 22nd.

They fought at the Battle of Deko Neimoidia alongside Jedi General Roan Shryne. They were later dispatched from Boz Pity to the Battle of Murkhana.

Ion Team refused to execute Roan Shryne, Bol Chatak, and Padawan Olee Starstone when they received Order 66, believing it to be a false enemy signal. They then saved the Jedi from being ambushed by the forces of Commander Salvo.
