I find it hilarious how DR's excuse for not doing more in the OR timeframe is that :you know how it ends" which is complete B*. It's like not teaching about the Roman Empire, because we know how things end up 2000 years later. But now thanks to Legacy they can't use that excuse. Plus just the general fact that in the post-movie era we already know how it ends. The heros live and save the day, most likely by the hand of Luke Skywalker himself, though once in a while it will be done by one of his relatives to shake things up.

SuperWatto posted: I agree with most of what's been said above about having a series per author and no more nine book marathons, but I'll go even further:
I'm not interested in what they do with the Luke Skywalker period anymore. To me, that's completely karked up beyond all recognition and salvation. What's interesting is what they're doing with Bane, while everyone's looking at LOTF: the second book has just come out and people are still wondering how many books it will entail. His future is pretty much open, and has been so from the beginning.
I won't go this far...I am falling over myself excited about Mindor...but I agree I'm not interested in the man getting any older and dealing with this ongoing.
I'd love for Luke to just retire at the end of LOTF...I know they won't kill him...which means a full retirement is out of the question...but it might be enough for them to set him to the background as a "deus ex machina" for stories, rather then the central hero.
But if they want to give me a book every 2-3 years about earlier days...gimme gimme!
Anyone else intrigued by a novel for Luke pre-ANH? I'd love to know the Ben/Luke pre-ANH backstory...maybe learn about his academy dreams...find out why hiding on the Lars farm was the most freakin genius thing ever when it seems the most idiotic.
Luke is not worn out...they just need to change tracks and stop making him grow old.

Same with Boba Fett. Let him fade into the background as Mandalore after LoTF. However, stories taking place between RoTS and ESB would be welcome. I know there is at least one comic (Enemy of the Empire) that takes place around ANH-time or just before but a novel bridging over some of that gap would be welcome.

Or even inter-trilogy...I'd love a book that was just about WHY Boba Fett was so famous as a bounty hunter. Maybe like a tale of his greatest bounty or a legendary event where he became infamous.
I think it's safe to say Jango never had the prestige in the business that Boba garners...show me how he eclipses daddy.

You know, that story's almost canon: wasn't Bib meant to reappear in The Mandalorian Candidate, too? And considering that The Reenlistment of Baron Fel was due to follow on....

I don't think so. They've done Star Wars before, mostly coffee-table type books, not novels.
